He knew by now that the girl he had called Gia-With-Three-G was one of his house mates. She lived on the girls’ side of House Morning Dew, and therefore, neither sharing a kitchen nor a bathroom, he saw her less often than he saw Victor or Estlin. But sometimes he did catch sight of her, flighty eyes lingering only ever too briefly to make contact, but always filled with curiosity and warmth nevertheless. He never forgot what he had promised her on their first encounter, the list in his chest pocket making it impossible, but he also didn’t forget what she had promised him.
And one day, about three Saturdays later when his mind was craving distraction, he had finally arranged all that needed to be arranged, and made his way to her dorm room. Three quick raps and he entered. “Is this the Grande Casa of Gia-With-Three-G?” he asked, with confidence and volume to his soft, edgeless voice. “I have come to ask for my payment.”
