Shin Godzilla No: 2 aka, Geistron returns in this series back in Haruki's past when he was young and when he was with his mom and dad. Haruki's dad gave Haruki to the mom and ran towards the kaiju to see who else he can help, which costed him his life.

Man..... looks like Haruki is going through a harsh time when his dad is gone by the hands of a kaiju.... hopefully he will be alright in this whole episode and the next one....
