Hi! Please settle and argument for me: is social science science? (Is linguistics science? is another way to put it.)
Yes.
Any opinion on the schwa /ə/ and the increased use of it in developing English? (My linguistics professor described it as the sound something makes when it's dying, then made us sing /ɑ/ right after to show us what "beautiful" sound was.)
This is a baffling question to me. The schwa is a vowel of English. It’s been in regular use for hundreds of years. I’m not sure I can have an opinion about it. It’s been a part of my main language my entire life. I don’t see that it’s increased in use… It’s in all the places it’s supposed to be. Were it to go, I would miss it.
What is your favorite phoneme?
/ʒ/
Thank you for asking!

Gumdrops and bubblegum?
not the one i was thinking of earlier, but thank you!
(is there a combination that has 'roses' in it??)
OC ask thing.... 17, 23, 27!
okay i’m gonna reflect on these for the whole gang in my house of lesbians novel (ok not the whole gang but the core gang) so here we go! i have not introduced them on this blog but their names are skip, raelyn, deja, althea, devon, miracle, and alicia and i would die for them
17: Does your OC suffer from any mental health issues?
rae and deja for sure, alicia i think so, and the others are pretty good
23: Does your OC tend to hide something about their personality/essence when meeting new people? If yes, what?
skip keeps her profession pretty quiet (she’s a gamer/youtuber and is just Tired of having ‘that’s not a real job’ conversations with people). rae is disabled and blatantly hides it from new people. deja just kinda...tones down a lot. hides a lot of her personality. althea is a very open person, so she wouldn’t hide anything. devon doesn’t hide anything, they’re one confident bean. mira is/was a musical prodigy and definitely hides that, or tries to at least. alicia, the smol gay teen they all end up adopting, is hiding that her parents kicked her out because she’s embarrassed
27: Does your OC practice any kind of escapism? If yes, what kind?
skip escapes into video games on the regular. althea meditates if that counts. mira escapes into her music for sure. deja drinks, i think.... and the rest of them, not really
THANK YOU! this was fun and productive!

That quote has some serious Neil Gaiman vibes. Or Terry. But honestly, one and the same.
haha, you’re right. but it was, surprisingly enough, a Rick Riordan quote, from the Magnus Chase series
Every multiple of 3 for the writer asks!

21. Do you create aesthetics for your writing, ie. on pinterest or tumblr? If so, what’s the board or tag? This is that tag for Desp.
24. Do you prefer first or third person? Why? Well it depends on the type of novel, but mainly third person
