Cet auteur de BD a perdu dans un train sa mallette contenant ses dessins originaux pour sa BD, deux ans de travail qui partent en fumé et son salaire détruit s’il ne la retrouve pas. Tonight at Happy Harbor Comics, our writer-in-residence Blair Brennan will be speaking at the opening of this "Sequence & Sensibility" comics-themed show, along with other friends of Latitude 53. It's a continuation of a series of shows dedicated to the memory of Edmonton art writer Gilbert Bouchard—a great supporter of Latitude 53 as well as many other local arts institutions. "The University of Alberta now has its first major comic book collection, thanks to a donation by the family of a well-known Edmonton arts writer. When Gilbert Bouchard died in 2009, he left behind more than 3,700 single-issue comics and related material, including hundreds of graphic novels, comic-strip book collections, comic book-inspired novels, as well as books about the art and history of comic books...His extensive collection will be on display through the university’s Bruce Peel Special Collections Library as a tribute to his life, and to his contributions to Alberta’s artistic and cultural scene. The exhibition, which will be displayed in the Rutherford South Library on the main campus, starts Friday and runs until February." RIP Gilbert.
