From today’s Final session of the Summer Series: Gilding for Works of Art… Today we applied Garlic Juice and Gum Ammoniac to Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper and activated it by breathing on it through a Bamboo Straw since both mordants are very hygroscopic. A great class! A nice q and a discussion on protective coatings, Isolation Barriers, what we need when working in oils and acrylics on canvas and panels with gold and silver leaf.
