Sometimes, even among team mates, we disagree upon certain things such as in management plans or decisions. I believe, in this case, the word is not really disagree, but rather a mere different of opinions. And there is nothing wrong with it at all! . . Heres why. . . There is nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree in surgery, especially in plastic surgery where we learn this during our first year of training. . . The fundamental of plastic surgery, as mentioned in Gilles 10 Commandments Of Plastic Surgery No. 2: . “Thou Shall Have A Style”. . This rule suggests that the surgeon should have a fairly predictable approach to patients and their plastic surgery problems. One is tempted to consider that some colleagues interpret this rule as referring to their cufflinks or hair. . . The reality is that most of of us have our own sometimes unique approach to problems, and we made this over the years into hopefully something productive of consistently high standards. However, we are encouraged to welcome and indeed ask for the opinion and assistance of colleagues with different styles, and we are expected through audit and appraisal process to modify our own styles when required. . . In conclusion, let's agree to disagree to keep an open mind. I believe this apply not only in plastic surgery, but also in our everyday life.
