这是我提起的动画项目的截图。为了练习中文我在图像编辑应用里把层们改换名称。蓝色的文字是歌词。我以后可能换字形。我最近下载了很多汉语的字型。这个字型比其它可读，但是其它较好看。

This is a screenshot of the animation project I mentioned. To practice Chinese, I changed the names of the layers in the image editing application. The blue text is song lyrics. I may change the font in the future. I recently downloaded a lot of Chinese fonts. This font is more readable than others, but others look better.

How to change the size of text in the G.I.M.P. interface so you don’t get horrible eye strain trying to name layers in 6pt font on an hd screen.

Note, this post is about the text in the interface itself, such as the names on different tool settings. This is not about adding a text layer to a project file.

Most of the interface settings can be adjusted/changed via the “preferences” dialog box. For some reason, interface text size is the exception. But thankfully, someone was kind enough to explain a backdoor workaround [I put the source link in tags]:

Close out of Gimp (if it’s not already closed)

Open the Gimp themes directory:

Mac: /Applications/GIMP-2.10.app/Contents/Resources/share/gimp/2.0/themes/

Note: for Mac you’ll have to right-click on the app icon in the Applications folder, then select “show package contents” in order to navigate to this folder.

Windows: C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\themes\

Ubuntu: /usr/share/gimp/2.0/themes/

Open the file gtkrc of your specific theme in a text editor (if you didn’t pick a theme, I think “Dark” is the default)

Find line with: GimpDock::font-scale = 0.8333

Replace with: GimpDock::font-scale = 1.6666 (or another value)

Start Gimp
