Arthur and Michael's choice in wives

There is no doubt that Michael and Arthur looked up to Tommy and tried to be like him. Michael does so in a superficial way, he tries to mimic Tommy's way of speaking, his mannerisms, his clothes and style, all the while never being able to replicate his genius or compassion or dedication to his family. Arthur also tries to mimic Tommy, but mainly in the ways that Michael does not because, although Arthur is not an intelligent man, he has a big heart and perceives matters on those levels. He sees the ways that Tommy changes between the end of season 2 and 3 because of Grace and he wanted that for himself.

Both Michael and Arthur choose a blonde wife because that's what Tommy chose. For Michael that's interesting because he marries Gina potentially after Tommy marries Lizzie, which means he recognizes that Grace was Tommy's true ideal wife. But Michael's choice in wife is all style, she looks similar to Grace in that she could be a film star and comes from a family of status, but she does not have the grace of Tommy's first wife. Arthur instead chooses a blonde woman who represents to him the goodness that he sees in Tommy's wife, hence he talks about Tommy now having "the love of a good woman" during his speech at their wedding. She's obviously far more rigid in her ideas of what goodness means than Grace was, which creates problems for her and Arthur.

Both men try to mimic Tommy's choice in wife in different ways that mattered most to them.
