There are so many things happening in the World right now. Losing People, Losing Nature, Losing Wildlife, Discrimination and so on.... Philippines recently lost Gina Lopez - Philippine Eco-Warrior and Environmentalist. Brazil recently losing the Largest Amazon Rainforest ' the Planet's Lungs ', producing 20% oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere. Not only in Brazil BUT entire Universe. WE ALSO LOSING IT. We are losing our Home and Wildlife. We're losing Hope. What's happening? How can we prevent those things to happen? Everything happens for a reason but atleast Let's ALL Pray and Help Each Other to Preserve our Nature for the sake of Our Kids and for the Next Generations. Help US Lord. 🙏 Guide Us Lord. 🙏 Lord God, Bless all the people behind those happening and make them realize the real purpose of nature and wildlife. Please Pray for all the PEOPLE who believe in the Power of Nature and Wildlife. We believe in you Lord. 🌏☝🙏 We are Praying to find a New Person who can be our Next Eco-Warrior. We need one person who can stand as our Leader and who can lead us to fight for what is Right. Losses. This is an abandoned mining project in Basay, Negros Oriental, which looks deceptively pretty with the colors and all, but imagine what is in those ponds to give them that green sheen, and look at that one on the left that's darker, too. This is where copper mine CDCP used to operate, a site which they abandoned in 1984 when copper prices plummeted, without ensuring rehabilitation of the areas the mining project had affected. These ponds are always in danger of overflowing and adversely affecting communities around it. In 2016, 30 years since the mine closed, it was also found that the Pagatban River where this mine was dumping tailings still had a toxicity level 200 to 5,000 times higher than acceptable levels. This mining company did not put out a single cent to ensure the safety of the community and the rehabilitation of the environment it had destroyed. #GinaLopez was going to ensure that this would not be done to nation by irresponsible mines again. This beach in Paracale, Camarines Norte (jump off to Calaguas Island) used to be known for its white to light grey fine sand and clean waters. On our way to and from Calaguas it saddens me to look at how dirty this place is now. Trash and plastic materials were floating as we approached the beach. What happened to this once beautiful piece of paradise? I was told that there is a mining company in the area and I just had to wonder if that was part of the sad state of this place now. I also noticed that there were lots of depressed areas near the beach but there seem to be no shortage of basketball courts with names of politicians plastered on their walls and entrances as if saying it's okay to be poor and to live in a sad depressing place as long as we provide you with substandard basketball courts. I promised myself not to post anything that has to do with politics but please indulge me just for today. I'm super saddened by the rejection of Ms Lopez for the post of DENR Secretary because for once I felt that there is still hope for our environment. I will remember the names of those who voted against her confirmation and I will make sure I won't vote for them come election day. Sad day for the environment.
