It wasn’t that it was too dark outside or the silence that filled too much or the new smoking habit that stopped her lungs

It wasn’t that black was her favorite color or the glasses she couldn’t find or the loud party outside her door that made her blow the lights out

It was everything she didn’t know and everything she could have known and everything she knew already that took her away and it was everything they knew but didn’t want to know that led them not to care and to move on when she really died
