My mum has ginger hair and was bullied by her own mother and called a witch by classmates. She dyed her hair for about 20 years and literally cried in relief when I wasn’t born ginger.
Yes, we laugh about it today, and bullying may happen for worse reasons, but it doesn’t help seeing grown adults online systematically point out the hair color of characters who have nothing in common besides the antipathy directed at them.
Mentioning this because I see it EVERY TIME I’m on this app. I’m not even going to start on the ableism toward Lucien.
At the end of the day it’s never about a character. Don’t forget that. People reading your posts have those exact attributes you call ugly and worse.
EDIT: It’s not even about outright calling redheads ugly. It’s the connotations of phrases like "the ginger squad" or whatever, immediately followed by negativity.
