I would love to see someone write an AU marauder fic where Remus never gets bitten by Greyback - it'd be very interesting to see the difference in his character. Would he become more arrogant and spoiled like James, or would it just make him more confident and charismatic? I'm thinking the latter, although he may well have been the most popular with the girls (+boys) because of this 😉

Don't get me wrong I stan that gryffindor quidditch team in the first three books but are you seriously telling me the best 7 quidditch players in the entire house are a 5th year, four 3rd years, a 2nd year and a 1st year? As in the sport that the entirety of the wizarding world is obsessed with and seem to spend their whole childhoods playing? really?

James Potter is not arrogant, he’s confident.

Arrogance is the assumption that in a given situation you will handle yourself or contribute with no basis in evidence or fact or previous experience. It is an unproven assumption. It is the thinking of “Others need to be down so I can be up”

Confidence is backed up. It is rooted in the knowledge that you can in fact handle yourself and contribute because you have done it before and you have the ability to do so.

James Potter is a smart, talented guy and he knows it. He also has the evidence that he’s good to back it up. He’s a transfiguration prodigy, the captain of the quidditch team, Headboy, one of the best members of the order who managed to defy Voldemort three times. He is good and he knows it. Of course the fact that he was a bit spoiled as a kid contribute to him wanting to show off his abilities and how good he is but it doesn’t mean that he saw himself above anyone. He was a genuinely good person who helped people, who was loyal to his friends, who fought a war he didn’t necessarily need to fight, who loved fiercely. James Potter just needed to be reminded that, yes he’s good but you don’t need to boast around for people to notice it. He just wanted to have recognition and let’s face it: he loved the attention.

Please stop saying that James Potter is arrogant cause he is not.
