These waffles with green onions and ginger are a tasty take on a classic breakfast food. The ginger gives it a nice zing, and the green onions give it a mild oniony taste. They are spicy because of the red pepper flakes that are added.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 tablespoon sugar. 1 tablespoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2 large eggs. 1 3/4 cups milk. 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions. 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste. Non-stick cooking spray.
Instructions: Follow the directions that came with your waffle iron to get it hot. Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Beat the eggs in a different bowl, then add the milk and vegetable oil and mix well. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together until they are just mixed. Add the red pepper flakes, grated ginger, and chopped green onions slowly. Spray nonstick cooking spray on the waffle iron to make it a little less stick. Put the right amount of batter on the waffle iron that has already been heated up and then close the lid. Follow the directions on your waffle iron to cook the waffles until they are golden brown and crisp. This should take about 3 to 5 minutes. Take the waffles out of the iron carefully, and serve them right away. Kick back and enjoy your Ginger and Green Onion Waffles with a Zip!
