Causes and Cures of Gingivitis
Dental problems are very common in people. Sometimes you might feel that your gums are getting inflamated as compared to normal. It might appear to be very mild at early stages but it can cause serious issues at later stages. The gums of a person suffering from this problem are inflamated or swollen, as compared to the gums of a healthy person are firm. The gums appear to be red than usually pink ones. The teeth might feel itchy and sometimes sensitive to certain things. Another symptom is bad breath. As this disease is caused by bacteria, the same bacteria are responsible for giving you bad breath. Bleeding gums may also result from this disease generally during tooth brushing. Sometimes bleeding is caused by ulcers in mouth but they are painful too. In case of this particular problem, there will be bleeding gums but no pain.
· Causes:
If you are not following a healthy routine for the care of your teeth, you are likely to catch this disease. Some people don’t brush regularly, due to which a pale yellow layer starts building upon the teeth. This is called plaque. Plaque is made up of food particles or bacteria that can get deposited on the teeth. Generally it gets cleared off when we brush properly but if we don’t, it keeps depositing on the same and takes the form of tarter. This unwanted material gets hard deposited on the teeth which cause redness of the gums. The other main cause is brushing roughly with a very hard tooth brush. The other less common causes of this disease can be deficiency of vitamins C and B3, fungal mouth infections, menopause, anemia and hormonal changes during pregnancy. If you have encountered any of these symptoms, this indicates gingivitis
· Treatments:
There are some natural as well as some medical cures to this problem. Natural remedies like using salt, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar cranberry juice, honey and baking soda to clean your teeth can prove really affective in preventing as well as curing this problem. Some natural oils like peppermint and spearmint oil have been scientifically proven to prevent the growth of bacterial and fungal infections in the mouth. They are also being used in tooth pastes and medicines for dental problems. You can also opt for visiting a dentist to discuss your problem. The general treatment procedure for this problem will include using an anti bacterial tooth paste or mouthwash, proper brushing of teeth twice a day using a soft brush and taking some drugs to cure it. Some professional cleaning procedures may also be required depending upon the severity of the disease.
· Prevention:
This oral disease can be stopped from occurring by taking proper care of the teeth and following healthy routines like brushing twice a day, using mouthwash and brushing properly with a soft brush.
