Estonian Gin Liqueur

Liqueur is an alcoholic drink that goes much beyond our conventional drinks like whiskey,gin and vodka. Liqueur are consumed neat, mixed in cocktails,  with coffee or with ice post dinners as desert.

Gin Liqueur from Lahhentagge in Estonia contains gin and hence the name. The gin content is less than the usual bottle of spirit, and hence consumed more as desert than the usual bar stuff.

It was first concocted in Italy by monks and the origin is said to be more of a herbal drink than anything else. With evolution the drink changed shape and turned into Liqueur. This is more of a European favorite a traditional savory.   

They are no more herbal drinks and have joined the product line of hard spirits or alcohols. Less alcohol does not make them as free of alcohol like Flaneur or Flaneuse  distilled by Lahhentagge in Estonia.

Known by different names these desert accompaniments contain around 15% alcohol or ABV. Besides the alcohol these bottled drinks contain fruit juice, sugar, herbs and spices. This explains why most people drink liqueur post dinner. These drinks are not aged like gin, whiskey of vodka rather the bottling time is enough for the ingredients to mix well.
