yknow, this rewatch of psycho pass made me think that ginoza wouldn’t be open to an intimate relationship until the point of being an enforcer—and even then, atleast initially, only with people like him.
in season one it really struck me that he’d be someone who’d avoid it to avoid any more potential trauma and heartbreak, even if he wanted it. season two made me think that his time in the care facility, plus time alone in his own quarters afterwards, would give him the space to finally unpack and process that trauma and find a way forward with a more open heart. being faced with the very thing he’s been trying so hard to avoid all his life would be so hard to overcome but he definitely succeeded and is much more relaxed in season two, so i think he’d let his guard down more in other areas off the back of that.
re if he wanted to be with akane, i don’t think he’d pursue it unless she showed real signs of forgetting about kogami as he advises her in the first movie. and maybe, if he does have feelings for her, that’s the first step. but if kogami continues to colour her thoughts too much, he’d be very wary imo.
just my two cents, maybe shaded by how close i felt to him in some ways as someone whose done lots of their own processing over the last few years. i want him to be happy so much but realistically i think he’s not the type for romantic ties prior to the second season.
