Haunted 《🌸》
#
I just don’t know when to stop, apparently.
Summary: Tachihara is back with the Hunting Dogs, not bloody Buzzfeed Unsolved. So why is he being haunted by the ghost he never summoned?
Note: I'll also be (reluctantly) posting the original draft because sOmEoNE decided to rip my heart out and f r i e n d z o n e them XD (I still love you for editing this fam @keo-to)
——————————-
A flurry of cherry blossom petals floated freely along streets on the ghost of a breeze. The trees along the streets seemed like ballgowns giving in to years of wind and dust and wear and tear, finally tearing apart and sending fabric drifting through the air.
Tachihara watched the petals.
Free.
Finally, he was free. Of the Mafia. Of his mission. How long had he been shackled down to it? Ah, no matter. It was nothing to him anyway.
Petals crunched like paper corpses beneath his feet as he walked. He sucked in a breath. Sweet. Slightly salty. Like the sakura dorayaki he’d had once. He shook out his sleeves, feeling light. No longer. No longer was he trapped.
The park was strangely quiet. He passed coffee-stalls, and tourists holding park maps and chattering in some foreign language. He nearly walked into a fat, sweaty American too busy with her phone to see him coming. From a shop somewhere an old man picked up his radio and began to play “Blue Light Yokohama.”
His footsteps faltered. He sank down onto a bench, listening. Castanets, beating to the thrum of pollen. To the slowly-increasing throb in his chest.
Ah, there it was again.
He greeted his memory with a bitter smile.
—————
The sunlight slanted through the trees, shattering against the bark and casting spots of golden onto the grass and the fallen petals.
“Ah, Kyouka-chan!” There was a cry from behind Tachihara. “You’re so cute when you’re happy.... Ah, keep smiling!”
“That, that bastard. Dazai... I hope he trips and impales himself on a steel rod. Bandage-wasting asshole!”
“What does that weretiger have that I don’t?” Akutagawa grumbled lowly, kicking bitterly at the sakura petals.
Tachihara attempted to block it out, instead choosing to hum along to the music
—“Blue Light Yokohama”—that a nearby vendor played. He could smell the dorayaki from here.
He turned to Gin, nudging her. “We should find another place to look at sakura. It’s no good when they’re here, yeah?”
Her eyes lifted only briefly to look at his cheek. Then she nodded and turned her head away.
“Hey, come on,” he frowned. “Don’t be like that. I’m getting food. You want any?”
She shook her head.
Whatever. He’d do it anyway. Piss her off a bit.
He walked off, petals crunching beneath his feet. Soon he was back with two sakura dorayaki in paper packets, paste dampening the material.
“Have one,” he said, thrusting it towards her.
Gin hesitated, pointing to her mask.
“Uh... take it off, then.”
She looked at him. Then at the dorayaki. Then she shrugged, deciding to take it. She pulled off her mask and took a bite of her dorayaki.
Towards him came wafting the scent of the cigarettes she smoked sometimes.
“What’s it taste like?”
She signed something he didn’t comprehend. Seeing his face, she sighed.
“Salty,” she said quietly.
Her voice was pretty. If a voice could be anything, hers would be a flower. Gentle, sweet.
He took a bite of his own. The outside was crunchy, and the interior soft. Typically dorayaki was sweet, but with the sakura petals, it had the perfect amount of saltiness.
“Ah, it’s good.”
She nodded. And smiled.
His heart pounded to the beat of the pollen.
That flower was the prettiest.
—————-
Goodness. Flowers really would be the death of him.
He smiled. A little bitterly. Then was then, and now was now. He couldn’t be so easily swayed.
Sometimes he felt a little like the boats he saw on the bay. Back and forth, rocked by the waters, tipping one way and another.
Of course he would value the friendship he’d formed with her. And he missed her.
But still, he had his job to get to. After all, she was a flower, and when spring ended, he couldn’t get her back anymore.
An old man passing by nodded at him. “It’s a beautiful spot, isn’t it?”
“Ah, yes...”
This was his world.
so, i have a felling that we dont see very much interaction between akutagawa and gin despite the fact they are brother and sister, so would you kindly give me some headcanons about their relationship.(For example, akutagawa doing the usual "if you hurt my sister i will kill you" to tachihara because i ship tachihara x gin)
I love the Akutagawa Siblings so much….
First of all, they’re more alike than people think
No one realizes at first, as Gin is very quiet by nature and disappears into the shadows, while Ryuu has a very strong, authoritative presence
But shortly after learning they’re siblings, Tachihara starts poking at Gin a little to much, and she whips around, knife to his throat, snarling and threatening him if he so much as breathes the same air as her again.
That’s when everyone realizes that they’re actually siblings.
They care very deeply for one another, even if they have difficulty showing it.
Ryuu will always seek her out after big battles, to make sure she’s alright. Any injuries will be dealt with swiftly, and will more often than not take priority over his own.
Ryuu is the only person Gin will sabotage a mission for. She did so, once, and the punishment was grueling. But, her brother is alive. And that’s what matters.
Ryuu is very protective of her - namely, anyone who decides they want to pursue a romance with her.
So, Tachihara’s crush becomes glaringly obvious, and Ryuu gets it in his head to threaten him until he breaks
Which includes glaring at him from across dark rooms and “accidentally” hitting him with rashoumon.
When Gin and Tachihara finally sit down and talk about their feelings, the firsts words out of Michizou’s mouth are, “Your brother is fucking insane.”
To which Gin replies, smooth as silk, “It runs in the family.”
Tachihara never catches a break someone help him.
ALSO, MY FAVOURITE HEADCANON
They stay up late, both in their pajamas, and just ramble on about the most ridiculous things on their minds. From stars to ladybugs, and the exact way to describe a blade.
tl;dr: They care about one another, an though not everyone sees it, the true depth in which they care for one another is unmatched. These are two siblings who would run across the world for one another.
Traitor
《SPOILERS FOR BUNGO STRAY DOGS MANGA》
Pairing: Gin Akutagawa/Michizo Tachihara
A big thank you to my fam Sandy for editing it into something much better, honestly I probably wouldn't have published it if she hadn't ♡
SUMMARY: Scuffles are not alien to Gin or Tachihara, but this is a bit more than just a scuffle. Not enough time has passed for either of them to forgive or forget, and it's not going to be pretty for either of them.
------------------------------------------
The stitches had only just been removed. Sometimes Gin forgot they weren't there. They had become so familiar to her in the past months. She'd gotten too used to the stretch of skin, the burst of pain blossoming through her side. It had been strange--how could a human get used to having been split open?
Mori had advised her against going on another mission, insisting that she should take a break first. He was worried about her, he'd said. It was more likely, however, that Elise had finally caved in to wearing a new dress, and he'd been in a particularly good mood. She hadn't said anything, since they both knew she wasn't going to listen to him, but now that she was standing in front of Tachihara she wished that she'd taken him up on that advice.
She didn't move. The silence between them was painful. Almost. She had her fists clenched. Her weapons ready. If he moved, even a little, she would stab him. Right between his traitorous eyeballs. Or maybe his chest. Where his stupid bloody dog tag was.
What was she supposed to say? She knew she should do something.
But what?
"Traitor," she spat. It was the only word she could manage. Desperation bloomed in her stomach like ink in cold water. No, that wasn't what she want--what was she doing? Turn, run, Gin, go--
"I had to."
His voice was cool, uncharacteristically so. So unlike the snarky remarks he used to give her. How much of it had been real, she wondered? How much of it was a pretense? Something in her twisted. Guilt, regret, like a knife.
This wasn't her Tachihara anymore. If he'd even existed.
She forced all her emotion into a glare that bore no real hatred. She wished she didn't have a dagger in her hand. She wished he didn't have that stupid gun. She wished there was no Hunting Dogs. No Port Mafia.
"Leave, Gin." His voice was sharp, slicing through her nerves. Why was she so jumpy now? Was it because of the wound? She should've been more careful.
She didn't give him a reply.
Maybe she should--run. But she so wanted to move towards him. To hug? Grasp for skin, some form of comfort. To know that he was still human--he seemed so much like a robot now. Or maybe to stab him. Maybe both. She tried, but her feet were stuck.
There was a prick in her eyes. Like water. It stung.
Why? She hadn't cried before.
Not when Akutagawa had.
Not when the rocks broke skin.
Not when she'd seen her friends' bodies strewn over the ground like flimsy paper dolls.
She hadn't cried since she was a little girl. Living aimlessly, praying and praying to live through the next cycle of sun-up and sun-down. Wallowing in the dirt, running barefoot through the slums like a lowlife. Like a stray dog, rolling over and grovelling for their next meal.
After all she'd been through, why was she crying now? At a time like this, over something laughably small like this, over someone like him.
A lowlife who deserved less than what she'd seen.
She stopped her bitter thoughts there. Was that really what she thought?
--------
His scar ached slightly. He swore it did. He forced back a laugh. Who was he, Harry Potter? Tachihara attempted to gather his emotions, trying to stay composed while every part of him was screaming. He felt as though he had a hole in his lung, leaving him gasping and dizzy, shards of pain rolling through his flesh.
As though he was the one who'd been stabbed.
Still, his mission came first. And he was helping her, anyway. If he hadn't stabbed her, she wouldn't even be standing in front of him. Yes. She should be grateful to him, so why was she staring at him like that? Like he was a-- a traitor.
He hadn't even wanted to get attached to her. It wasn't as if he'd started with her in mind. She was just something that happened along the way.
Still, he was only human, not a robot. He'd still felt that thrill of victory after a successful mission with the Black Lizard. The wild laughter that had burst out of him so often with his team--that was real. Those little human moments had slowly built up in him and now he was a dam ready to burst.
At the worst time.
Thanks, heart.
Sometimes he wondered what would happen if he'd joined the Port Mafia. His brother was dead, anyway, rotting in his grave. Why did he care anyway? About the dead, when he should be caring about the living, and this person in front of him?
But he was too close. He couldn't give it up, not now. So he kept his chin up, kept his eyes staring into Gin's. He'd just injure her, drive her away, and forget. He wouldn't kill her. Just like last time. He wouldn't let this get to him. He would succeed, he'd be better than his brother, he'd be the best, he couldn't be weak.
He had to be strong.
They couldn't play around. Life wasn't a game where you got everything you wanted.
"Tachiha--" She hissed as he flipped his pistol in his hands and fired a shot.
The thump as she sank to her knees resonated inside his heart.
Was this feeling--guilt?
Tachihara and Gin headcanons? please <3
Tachihara gets it in this head that Gin is his “competition
And, like the cocky little shit he is, starts challenging Gin into every kind of fight imaginable.
And Gin can usually shrug him off, but once he was like, “I bet you couldn’t beat me in hand to hand” so she turned around and flipped him over her shoulder
(keep in mind, Tachi probably thinks Gin is a guy)
And he continues to challenge her
To, like, everything
“Hey who can skip this rock the furthest?”
“I bet my jacket’s more expensive!”
“Who has cooler hair?” (he had a poll - Gin won.)
And finally, Gin has had enough so she storms up to Tachihara and starts questioning what the hell he’s doing, because they’re usually on a mission, and she doesn’t have time for this!
And Tachihara’s first thought is, “wow, his voice is really cute???” but he just shrugs it off and insists that Gin has been trying to beat him since day one
Gin: -_-
Cut to Tachihara meeting Gin when she’s going to lunch with Aku, and freaking out because dear lord this boy cannot handle pretty girls and it’s been well-established that Gin is canonically very attractive
And he’s freaking out and stammering and unable to talk to her, (Aku watches in the background, as Jaws music plays in his head)
And Gin gets really confused and says, “You’re being weird.”
And Tachihara panics and he’s like, OH SHIT THAT’S GIN!!!
Gin is a cute girl and the tachibrain cannot compute freaking mood
And he sees her the next day and avoids eye contact with her, because he can’t help but notice how nice her eyes are and how did he never notice that she’s really pretty and-
“Race you down the hall?” She says.
And Tachihara smiles.
“Of course.”
Akutagawa once heard Tachihara scream, followed by a crash. He ran in, expecting an attack. Tachihara was lying on the ground, Gin on top of him screeching. What happened? Tachihara ate Gin's candy.
I’M DEAD
Gin: Sometimes you make me so mad!
Tacihara: So mad you just want to kiss me!?
Gin: Yea-uh..
Tachihara: uhhh
Gin: YOU SAID IT NOT ME
Gin and Tachihara once got stuck on a lifeboat, for some reason. The Mafia just watched the two screech and throw things at each other. They didn't call the Coast Guard until 1:34 AM.
that literally sounds like the third date with joseph from dream daddy jfc
I seriously want to write a fic for gintachi!!!
