As for fear of writing certain footballers, I’ve definitely been there (and am still kinda there…shh 😅). But I’ve found one thing that has kinda helped me and maybe it’ll help you too; if you’re scared but you want to give writing Gigi a try, start by writing him for yourself. Don’t show the fic to anyone else, at least not yet (you certainly can down the road if you like how it’s turning out). Take some time away. Come back. Tweak the fic and play with it a little. Experiment. There’s no rush, no deadline. Then, if you like how it’s turning out, show it to someone you trust, or, if you’re feeling bold, put it on ao3. For what it’s worth, I’m sure there’s people who will want to see more Gigi pairings out there. But the important thing here is that there’s no pressure; focus on writing the fic for you—you’re just telling a story of a pairing you like, that’s all. And if any more comes from it, cool! If it stays in your drafts, that’s ok too! You did it for you, and what comes after that is your choice ❤️
