remember when manu and gigi would meet on the pitch and gigi would just get cute aggression and grab manu's face haha can't escape the kissies

We genuinely don’t talk about this enough 😭 Gigi might honestly be the founding father of Manu-induced cute aggression. Literally from their very first meeting, Gigi’s brain was like “must squeeze the baby,” and that just never really went away.

And then Euro 2016 came around, and Gigi spoiled Manu (and us) even more with not just cuddles but kisses!! And yes, I understand this can just be a greeting of sorts, but it’s just so wholesome when viewed through the context of the goalkeeper’s union and the mutual respect between these two goalkeeping greats. Even more so when it’s entirely possible that Gigi was so overcome with cute aggression for Manu that he just had to cup his face and give him a kiss 🥺 and Manu clearly loves it too, what with the way he practically melts into the hug. For someone so used to giving affection, it must be a joy to receive it, and who better to receive from than a fellow goalkeeper as renowned as he is!

What he (Thomas) did at the World Cup, people don't talk about it. They don't talk about it, but they should talk about it. He plays the game the right way: he defends, he attacks, he controls the ball when he has to control it, he reverses when he has to reverse it. When he has to finish, he'll finish.

He doesn't do stepovers, but when he has to perform, he performs. He does what the game asks him to do
