Alright, story time. When I was a kid (timelines are hard, but I'm positive I couldn't have been more than 10), a friend of mine had a CD in her car (well, parents' car) that had a bunch of really strange songs on it. I don't remember most of them, but there's one that's stuck with me, and even now, over a decade later, I can sing it flawlessly. I haven't heard the song in over 10 years, but it still pops into my head on occasion.
It came up today, and I was telling my friend Michael about it. She laughed and asked if I was sure me and my friend hadn't made it up ourselves. So I googled it and found the song. In a 14-year old video with less than 2,000 views, shot in a bar in Atlanta, GA.
I found another video, but it has only 720 views and is 10 years old. Still, it was nice to have confirmation that this is a real song that does exist.
How my friend came to have this song on a CD in her car, I have no idea, but I'm glad she did. I figured tumblr would enjoy this song, so I'm sharing it with the world. Every so often I still find myself singing it under my breath. Maybe now someone else will get this as their recurring earworm.
edit: I should add that I live in and grew up in Michigan, so it's not even like it was a local band her parents had bought a CD from.
