Send ✿ for the morning after my muse climbed into bed with yours late last night. (aka I'm such a little shit but I'm really not srry cause it's canon)
Sunlight peeked into the blinds of the bedroom, flooding the space with a warm glow of the early morning light. The light hit the pillow where Liam’s head lay, gently causing him to stir awake, beginning to tug him away from his deep slumber. Chocolate-hued eyes fluttered open, his body stayed unmoving holding his position as he allowed his musings to consume him. Immediate thoughts popped into his head: half-convinced to jump start the day eagerly, and yet half-decided to call in late, and simply go back to sleep.
His body should have been well-rested, the fruit of a good night’s sleep, but instead, it remained feeling more tired than ever, perhaps even restless after being affected from the sea of thoughts that had been plaguing his mind for the past few days, weeks, and months. The Hearts, the Diamonds, Wren’s laptop, Nora, Shiloh, Alice, Ashley, Sophia, Scott... they had all began to melt into a pot that created worries, with the final addition to that being Rebecca’s disappearance.
Indeed, Liam was a man withan unstable soul and an actively churning mind that wouldn’t let the body sleep. Contemplating his life could easily be done in that very moment, but the thinking was interrupted by light movement from the other side of his bed. Only then did he remember that he wasn’t alone.
Turning his head to the side, he found her sleeping peacefully, thoroughly enjoying her slumber on the other half of his bed. A part of him wanted to stir her awake, but it would be rude to rob her of something she needed, too, after she had given up her work days to be by his side for the past two days.
It started off as soon as he gave her a call, her presence immediately there, comforting him when he needed her. Slowly, it turned to her staying over the night, her refusal to leave him unaccompanied in his state. The next day, she surprised him with home-made food, ensuring he was well-fed in the midst of his breakdown. And now, it was day three, with her finally finding her way to his bed for some proper rest instead of the couch. Quietly, Liam sat up on the bed, scooting out as he got up, leaving her asleep in his room.
The hacker had no idea what time it was, but he knew exactly just what to do. After a visit to the bathroom, he went straight for the kitchen, eager to whip up a meal for the both of them. Giselle and Liam both deserved to take things slow even just for this morning, an breakfast was the surefire way to do it. It would also serve as his way of expressing his gratitude to her for everything she had done for him. That, and many more ways to say thanks in the future. But for now, the start was breakfast in bed.
Half an hour later, Liam’s kitchen was very much alive, the air laced with the aroma of home-brewed coffee and the fragrant air of bacon wafting through his apartment. Thankfully, his fridge was stocked with the usual breakfast items, allowing him to prepare two breakfast plates of bacon, eggs, sausages and toast which he hoped was delicious enough for her taste. The quaint set-up of her little breakfast rested on top of a serving tray, topped all off with a mug of freshly brewed, steaming coffee, for the intense coffee-lover in his midst. He stepped back to admire the simplicity of it all and finally carrying the tray to the sleeping beauty.
Careful with his each and every step, Liam balanced the tray until he reached his bed setting it down on the bedside table first to rouse Giselle. As he sat down on the small space on the bed just beside to wake her, he couldn’t help but admire her simplistic beauty. Even in her sleep, she managed to look serene, a state he knew to himself that he would never be able to achieve which is why he liked being with her: she was his own little calm amidst the storm.
As he studied her resting features, he found himself smiling, admiring her for everything she had done for him. He wondered, just how lucky he was, to have met a girl such as her, a head-strong, classically beautiful, confident, passionate, yet down-to-Earth lady whose name alone was enough to scare off the meekest of men. Where she was seen by the world with a woman hungry for a chance to hold a a position over New York, he saw her for the kind-hearted, caring friend she was. Giselle had granted her access to her heavily guarded life, and to that, he was more than honoured and beyond grateful.
Instinctively, he reached out to her face, his fingertips gently grazing her cheek, drawing little circles over the surface. “Giselle.” He murmured softly, before repeating her name over and over again until she woke up. With the smile on his face growing bigger, his eyes crinkled in delight. As she slowly grasped her bearings of being awake, Liam picked up the mug and handed it to her, knowing fully well that she liked her coffee very much. “Good morning.”
