#Repost @alysonstoner • • • • • Are we really waiting for a man-made calendar dictated by consumerism to remind us when to be generous once a year? So NGOs and soup kitchens have to quadruple their marketing efforts to get donations while people are looking their way, and then stretch these resources for the rest of the year? . Giving doesn’t have to involve money. It can. It can also be time. Energy. Supplies you already have on hand. But what holds us back is that we wait for someone else to remind us to do it... like it isn’t our responsibility to manage our lives. 💡🤔 . If you want to live generously, but you don’t feel you have anything to give, I challenge you to recognize generosity as a state of being instead of a specific list of behaviors. When you cultivate an attitude of gratitude, you become aware of provision in a new way, and less detached to the ownership of things. Generosity is the man who shares his joy openly on the train, brightening everyone’s day. Generosity is being a soundboard for a friend. Generosity is ANTICIPATING your encounter with someone in need, and preparing accordingly, so you can show them they were on your mind and they matter. Happy Giving Every Day. 🥰 . . #Accessibility text: Alyson speaks directly to the camera about care packages she keeps on-hand for homeless people.
