okay,   he’s really not sitting out on the couch to be some kind of angry parent   –   whatever   –   waiting for his mom to get home.    when she should have been home THREE HOURS ago.    that’s not what this is,   really.    scott’s just worried,   a little bit,   and there’s a certain CONVERSATION they’ve been avoiding having since at least the day everyone was rescued from the ghost riders.    to his defense,   he’s not being ridiculously dramatic:   the lights are on,   so when she comes home she won’t be terrified at scott just SITTING THERE in the dark.    phone gets pocketed when she walks into the living room,   and his face is actually soft…full of care for her.

‘ it is??    crap,   thanks. ’       scott thought he’d gotten the whole outfit right,   but to be fair,   he so rarely dresses up that it was bound to happen.    he turned toward the mirror and works to try and straighten it up,   fingers carefully adjusting the material.    when he turned back,   brows were raised curiously   --   hopefully.       ‘ better? ’  @givethemhope

honestly,   all he’d wanted to do was spoil his mom with a nice dinner at home that she really,   truly deserves,   due to everything she’s done for him.    all the STRESS she’s been under?    deserves some spoiling.    the thing is,   though,   that the dinner isn’t just for her   -   it’s also not for scott.    the alpha’s standing at the front door as melissa looks through all the food,   and the candles,   and it’s when he tells her the plan for the date   --   for her date with chris   --   that he’s being ATTACKED with kisses all over his face that almost never seem to end.       “ mom!    ma   --   you don’t have to thank me,   you just   --   enjoy your date,   and i’ll be at stiles’ place.    chris should be here soon. ”       he can’t help but grin and hug her,   before finally slipping out and hopping on his bike.  @givethemhope
