Yesterday I wanted to tell you about this particular case I was assigned to. It was a family meeting. Lord you know what's coming. It was a big rectangular room, with chairs all around it and an ackwardly placed table in the middle. Which if you moved towards one side, it would be too far to reach for the other side. The atmosphere was that of emptiness. Most of us took a sit. About 10 relatives on one side and about 8 staff members on the other. Como policías y ladrones, víctimas y victimarios, buenos y malos. I guess is easier to keep order this way. The typical introduction of names and relation or job title took place. As the summary of what happened to the patient begins I am certain of what type of conversation it would be. Patient's heart stopped for too long. As a consequence extensive brain damaged occurred. Intubated for assisted breathing and on a feeding tube. And to top it all in a comma. Doctor tried to explained that due to the severity of brain damage it was doubtful he will wake up and if by some miracle he did, his quality of life would be bad. Requiring a nursing facility for 24 hour care, a tracheotomy and permanent feeding line. Unable to comprehend most things. One of the relatives began speaking about getting PT for the patient because otherwise the medical team was giving up on him or condemning him to die. However it was repeatedly interpreted by me that patient was unable to follow commands and is in comma he can't possibly received PT. I saw her getting worked up and unable to understand what the doctors were saying. I saw the pain on her face. She raised her voice and said "Yo no voy a matarlo" She said it repeatedly. It's always painful to see the relatives faces across the room. Pain, despair,confusion, guilt, anger, consternation... at some point my voice was quaveringbut I quickly had to remind myself to be a professional and leave that for later. Basically swallow my emotions. A mother holding on to the belief of God's healing hands. Knowing science had comdemed him ( her words) she thank the medical team. The family asked for more time which is understandable. Always at the end of such assignment I hope I don't have another family meeting with the same patient. Or I wish they didn't existed at all. Is hard. I believe that was the highlight of the day. There was also my mother's bd. She wore a dress I had gifted her a year ago. She looked good. I wanted to share it with you.

NEW To the World of Tumblr

so im new to this whole blogging your life and thoughts, i was just browsing through the internet while at work bored n for some reason thought why don’t i make a tumbler. i mean the whole world has been sucked into this social media craziness, why not me right?

i have a fb ,IG, and a twitter barley use those thought i might give this one a try to see how long it last , i doubt anyone will read this is they do great if they don’t then im just typing things that come to mind just to ya know? im trying to find the appeal to just typing to a bunch of strangers what i feel or whats going on in my life or how what i type or what anyone else types can be interesting to anyone else, yet here i am doing the exact same thing n thinking how i just sold out to myself and gave into the social media like the rest of the world.

i just started this n yet whole ideas of what i can write are coming to mind, should i talk about how my life is finally together or how it was broken before , or maybe that lately i feel like im trapped in a corner and cant seem to see a way out, or maybe i just feeling the need to whine since i can without worry of opinions from those around me. well ill leave tha for another day or maybe later on today. for now looks like its back to work for me.
