Trying to get people excited about my fic so that im motivated to actually finish it. Its au poppy that grew up at meeple with mephone4 as their brother and is now looking for him to reconnect after helping him escape back in 2011ish, but otherwise follows the plot of season 4 faiiirly closely, with changes of course due to poppy actually being raised by cobs to inherit meeple and everything that comes with that. Douglas Adams is one of my absolute favourite writers and I try to emulate his sense of humour in my writing (though of course I could never truly compare to the legend himself)

(Note poppy is trans and transitions during the story, so since it’s from their perspective they use he/him pronouns and their deadname for themself for the first third or so, in case anyone is confused about the “he”s in the snippets below. Also they tend to deadname/misgender themself when dissociating or under stress because thats a thing i do and im projecting)

(Also i put a stupid amount of thought into their deadname [not depicted here], because theyre a billionaire celebrity’s child, of course their birth name is gonna be just stupid and pompous and oh my god steve what were you thinkinggg and also i did some research into steve jobs’s actual children and sort of made poppy a bit of a parallel to lisa brennan-jobs while still fitting how i think cobs would have raised them based on the scenes from mine your own business? So yea shoutout behindthename and the transcript of this one interview lisa did lol)

Fic idea cause otherwise ima forget. Taco not doing well wrt mepads death and just… picking him up and putting him in her hammerspace. And not telling anyone. Everyone thinks someone kidnapped his body for evil nefarious purposes (poppy and metag are the most suspected with test tube in third) but no its just one really lonely bisexual disaster that lost one of the few people who liked her as a person doing irrational grief-ridden things and now she cant even tell anyone she did it because people still dont really trust her yet and also she doesnt want to let go of him. Her arms spend more time in her hammerspace too so she can hold onto him and pretend that he’s just powered down

Next time im in the proximity of my tablet im drawing mic having a mini fashion show in the mansion with knife’s old clothes cause he like, died and cant wear them anymore. And theyre just being silly and whimsical and doing weird poses. Cause while i dont think mic would intentionally dress super edgy just cause of the time it would take, i do think she’d find impromptu fashion show with someone elses old clothes to be a great afternoon. And she probably adopts one of his vests or jackets or something as daily wear lol

In the academia trenches but anyway my poppy and bot met in college au their whole acting group does winter break at inanimate island bc no one really wants to go home except bot, and poppy is avoiding the lawyers that come with having a famous dad that just died, and theyre all a little worried about the show theyre putting on in a few months, so the whole crew goes. And then while practicing sweeney todd toilet sees poppy (playing sweeney) lift the prop razor, panics, and attacks them like in canon, bot gets hurt, poppy is used to bot doing dumb shit and needing repairs and just immediately grabs them like “cmon dumbass lets find the nearest soldering iron” and then test tube is all DONT TOUCH MY KID and bot who’s just got some emergency temp repairs trusts poppy more than test tube to do the repairs because theyve been the worlds most chaotic engineer-android college duo (all of the staffing and funding type departments hate them so much but theyre technically not doing anything against the rules and poppy keeps apologetically paying whoever has to repair the damages so it mostly works out) and bots always trying to do something like attach wheels to their front and full tilt skateboard down the campus with a rocket attached to them and accidentally ram directly into the art building and then poppy repairs them so like. To these two its normal. And test tube is like why doesnt my kid trust me anymore why do they trust the ghost of that monster more. Anyway both test tube and poppy are trying to protect bot from the other and bots like “i dont care who repairs my head but can it be done sometime this century please and stop loudly arguing or i Will start indiscriminately biting people because half my head is missing and i have a headache as a result as you might expect”
