Au where Quirrel finds and adopts a tiny silent hatchling while exploring the lands beyond Hollownest

The isopod raising the little vessel as his own child, and the duo eventually bumping into Tiso at some point in their travels, the soldier ant deciding to tag along as well

The ant ultimate falling for the pillbug and becoming a part of the family as well, raising the vessel alongside Quirrel as though they were his own pupae.

And due to actually being raised and cared for by their pillbugdad and antdad, little Ghost actually moults and grows a bit before the events of the game occur

The three traveling the wastes together as a happy lil family

That is until both Ghost and Quirrel suddenly feel a strange inexplicable pull back to the lands of Hollownest...
