Q had been on the Enterprise a lot recently, not doing anything in particular, there’d been no noticeable disturbance. He hadn’t even gone to see the captain or announced his presence in any way to the bridge. He would show up, observe things and then leave, sometimes without ever showing up to the naked eye. There was someone, however, who could see his presence anyway, and usually Q was diligent in staying out of Geordi’s sensors, he knew he’d been spotted here or there. “Caught on, have you?” He steps into range from thin air. “Yes, it’s me you’ve been detecting. No, I’m not here to cause trouble. Yes, I do realize some things that might seem innocuous to me might be uncomfortable and troublesome for you. Yes, really, I’m capable of just visiting.” He’d been through this song and dance with one or two others very recently. “Now that that’s over with. How are you?” He waited now to see if he would immediately call security or indulge his dialogue.
