Excerpt: 

Archie narrowed his eyes. “You alright, love? You seem a bit … on edge.”

The tips of Will’s ears turned slightly pink and he darted a quick glance at his laptop out of the corner of his eyes. “I’m fine.”

Archie smirked as he followed Will’s gaze. So that’s why Will looked flushed. “Why, Will,” he teased, “watching something on the screen a little more X-rated than research?”

Will’s eyebrow jumped up. “It’s … not what you think.”

Archie frowned. “There’s nothing to be embarrassed about, Will. Lots of people watch porn–”

Will shifted awkwardly again. “Archie–”

“–so no judgment from this quarter. Do what you need. Just … if there’s something we’re not doing that you want to try, you can always ask. I  … can’t promise I’d be up for it, but I’d at least like to hear about it. We’re in this for the long haul, love. You matter to us.”

“It’s not–” Will paused, shook his head, and looked down at his laptop again with a frown. Finally, he sighed, opened the lid, hesitated, then held it out to Archie. “Here.”

Archie raised an eyebrow, then took the computer and stared at the screen. A familiar white background with a red navigation bar stared back at him. He blinked.

“It’s just–” Will began.

“–Worthington Chronicles fanfiction,” Archie finished, his face breaking out into a giant grin.

Q had been on the Enterprise a lot recently, not doing anything in particular, there’d been no noticeable disturbance. He hadn’t even gone to see the captain or announced his presence in any way to the bridge. He would show up, observe things and then leave, sometimes without ever showing up to the naked eye. There was someone, however, who could see his presence anyway, and usually Q was diligent in staying out of Geordi’s sensors, he knew he’d been spotted here or there. “Caught on, have you?” He steps into range from thin air. “Yes, it’s me you’ve been detecting. No, I’m not here to cause trouble. Yes, I do realize some things that might seem innocuous to me might be uncomfortable and troublesome for you. Yes, really, I’m capable of just visiting.” He’d been through this song and dance with one or two others very recently. “Now that that’s over with. How are you?” He waited now to see if he would immediately call security or indulge his dialogue.
