Beta AU Glandis kids are like, Stereotypical Wolf Pack cliché. Weird Alpha dynamics, constantly fighting to prove their strength. Luz and Amity run into them in the park and it's the first time they fought TOGETHER cause the Glandis thought a 5-2 would be easy but it's Luz and Amity

Luz and Amity bond tremendously well over mutual annoyances and beating them up when they try to get smart. The Beta Glandis kids are the type that really like the werewolves from Twilight. They start heckling Luz and Amity just by existing and being part of Hexside and they just Look at each other and go "hm,,perhaps we will commit assault"

Highlights of The owl house 2x05 Through the looking Glass ruins

Yesterday was the release of the owl house episode 2x05 “Through the Looking Glass Ruins”. Compared to the past four epsidoes this one was significantly calmer (no complaints here at this point we needed an episode like this) but it still had some really good points. I am going to go into them below but first I want to give a special shout out to the three characters who in my opinion were MVP’s of this episode:

:Gus, Mattolomule, and Emira; you three made the episode for me! Yes I liked the Lumity, Lumity is super cute. But these were three characters I had been really wanting to see get more development and I am very happy with the development they got. So highlight below

Gus getting an episodes A plot to focus on him! We see him lose his passion for Illusions after a trick he tried to fix a problem only made it worse, but then go on a quest to regain his confidence.

Also more lore on the illusion track. It’s seen as a lesser track. Crazy. Illusion spells are great and Gus is a fantastic wizard.

how dangerous are pixies? After this episode I grudgingly have a bit of respect for Boshca because she apparently lives with a pixie and has yet to come to school mulled.

Mattolomule backstory. So From this I can gather that Glandis is Matty’s old school and Bria and her cronies are his old “friends”. The wiki says he was expelled, but I re-watched SVSF and I couldn’t find where it said that. This episode implys that his parents pulled him from Glandis because he was having a really bad time.

Mattolomule’s time at Glandis not being used as an excuse for the way he behaves now, and seeing him own up to being a jerk and starting to make better choices.

Gus and Matt becoming friends and getting a weekend volunteer job. Gus will certainly be a better influence on Matt than the Glandis trio were, and I feel like Matt could be good for Gus too, because now he has a guy friend who is around his same age.

Edric crushing so hard on someone to where he wants to look perfect for their date, texts them poems, and has both their number and the numbers of their family members saved in his phone. Man when Blights fall fr someone they fall hard.

Edric’s crush being refered to as “Their”. This could be to hide the gender of Ed’s date, but Dana has openly talked about characters sexuality and gender before, and said that in the boiling isles all parts on the sexuality and gender spectrum have been normalized to the point were everybody is open abut them. So that suggests that Ed may be Pan and starting a relationship with a Nonbinary individual.

Emira finally getting some of her own characterization. I did not like the Blight twins at first. One big reason was because in a post Gravity Falls disney I am not okay with the tired old concept of having twin characters, who except for 1-2 tiny differences in their appearance are the exact same character with two bodies. In AITE Edric got some development. We saw that he was the more goofy, curios twin, and that he has a fascination with animals, particularly one s that could potentially hurt him. Also re-watching SVSF I think he is a bit more powerful than Emira. Emira so far has only been portrait as the just slightly more sane twin, who watches Ed’s crazy then makes the choice to stop or join him. In this episode we see her take a more big sisterly role and we learn she has an interest in beautification, and helps/gives both her siblings advice on how to look their best.

I have been wanting the twins to join the duel track since AITE when we learned that they still maintain top scores in illusions even though they don’t go everyday; and might in fact skip school because they are under challenged and board. Illusion and Beast Keeping are obvious choices for Edric. After getting some of Emira’s interests in this episode I would say put her in illusions and potions track. When she gets older she can make and launch her own line of cosmetics.

Luz has a new pet. Luz mousy needs a name and for you to keep it in a tank/cage stocked with bedding and stimuli, away from Hooty. Only let King play with it if some one is watching him.

Amity has lilac hair. I expect her natural brown hair, but that is kinda silly since Amity’s personal style is kinda punk/gothic. The lilac hair will take some getting used to, and I am not to sure about leaving those two front locks brown. But someone pointed out that now her hair is the same color her and Luz’s Grom tree and that is adorable.

Amity pecked Luz on the cheek. It happened. We all saw it. Luz now knows Amity likes her back.

i highly recommend craig of the creek its a very fun show that deserves more love, i adore the vibe of the kids

After Luz messed up at her last school and got expelled, Camila moved the 2 of them to the town of Bonesborough because it was basically her last hope on keeping Luz in a school and Luz is Determined to stay in this one. But they moved in the summer and Luz pretty much immediately wandered into the creek and found Eda camping out there in an old shack because shes avoiding taxes and cops and is called the Owl Lady (aka the most Powerful Witch™ in the creek) by the kids. they have the same mentality towards everything like in cotc in that they can spin anything to fit their games and ideas, with a bit of actual magic put in here and there.

Eda's 'curse' is an illness that messes with her head and emotions which can cause her to lash out if provoked when in that stressed state. her elixir is obviously her medicine that manages it. the kids call it the Owl Beast bc they know Eda doesn't normally act like this and that was the best thing they came up with. the curse wasn't caused by Lilith in this AU and instead is just something that hit her when she was young and Lilith at one point purposefully caused it to flare up to like, become a cop. anyway Eda makes a living by selling junk and occasionally trading the stuff she doesn't want with the kids who come by. she may or may not actually have a bit of magic she doesn't tell anyone about.

King's some toddler Eda found when she was looting an abandoned house/mansion and accidentally realized she had this little guy with her. She did actually go around trying to find who's kid this was but there was just. nobody. yes she could've given the kid over to the authorities but she didn't want to put the kid in the system and also in that time trying to find his parents she kinda got attached to him so she just. stole a child for a few years. He had an actual name that Eda knows but he insists on being called King because he thinks its a way cooler name.

Amity is the Queen of the Creek who got the role because Ed and Em stepped down from being the King and Queen due to school picking up and they hang out at the creek way less often, but they still show up occasionally to cause problems and pull pranks and get away w it because "technically we're still in charge over Amity" and shes So Tired of them. Boscha and her posse were like the 'advisors' or most loyal followers of Amity until she ditched them/ordered them to fuck off. King swears she's his mortal enemy because of the Queen title, she has no idea he exists until Luz introduces them.

Willow was a friend of Amity before she became the Queen and is part of the garden kids, and is known for being really good at it and helps out new gardeners. and is also strong as shit and can and will Destroy You. but she and Gus like hanging w Luz so they don't mind being away from their groups on occasion.

Gus is part of like the theater/special effects kids that have packets of fake blood and can use makeup really well for fake scars and are just basically the tech theater kids who are good at making stuff to look the part. He's also one of the best kids in that group (and the youngest) and had a rivalry going on with Matt before he got kicked out of his school due to starting shit w Gus and thus was put in Glandis.

WHICH SPEAKING OF THAT the creek is split up between the towns, its Massive. each town just has a different section of it with notable differences, and Bonesborough has the biggest piece of it (not Significantly bigger, but enough that all the kids know about it) due to like town borders. Gus wanting to be an ambassador to the human realm in toh is switched to him being an ambassador between the kids in the other towns that share the creek.

Given the new info about Glandis, the new kids sound like they'd be perfect for the EC. Mayhap a rival Coven group for Amity? They keep trying to one up her (they try to frame it as a "Hexide vs Glandis" rivalry- but they know Something is up with her group or maybe Bria is doing it bc of a one sided crush;))

Amity sees the Glandis overachieving EC group in the distance and just grumbles "I see they just let anyone into the Coven now" she does Not like them, mostly because of the Gus incident. also because they remind her too much of what she could've ended up like. it's the highlight of her groups day when they meet the Glandis kids because shes just so tired of all of them its the funniest thing to her guards.

the Glandis group is DETERMINED to be better than Amity's group but Amity stopped caring So Long ago and is giving the Glandis group a dead-eyed stare until they get uncomfortable and leave. once the Glandis group 'stole' Luz from Amity's group after they captured her for all of 3 minutes. Everyone thought it would tick her off but Amity just said "wait" and 10 minutes later Luz had escaped and the Glandis group was On Fire and running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Love how as soon as new characters are introduced we try to stuff them into as many AUs as we can. My take on Glandis kids in the *throws dart* Mafia AU: small time gang that thinks they're big shots until Amity glares at them,not even worthy of an actual threat, and they scatter. They try to bully Gus to feel better but it doesn't go well for obvious reasons

very small gang that causes minimal damage but are a Huge pain in everyones sides. they can never figure out where Skara's hideout is so they can buy (steal) her weapons but thats because Skara avoids them unless she can corner them somewhere, offer some weapon at a stupid high price, and dip out. the Glandis kids think they're great but if Amity wanted them to be part of her gang,,,they wouldnt exactly say No,,,,but tragically she hates them

MerAU: the Glandis kids are red bellied piranhas. While piranhas are known for feeding in schools, they group together for protection from predators rather than pack hunting. They’re also a bit aggressive towards each other. Basically the Glandis kids aggressive scavengers who would sell each others’ soul for a single corn chip - Nerd anon

nasty little buggers that would go at everyone and anyone. Boscha is also a piranha but a different type so you can imagine she has an Even Bigger Hatred for the Glandis kids. Glandis kids would rip each other up if it meant they'd get a better standing in the world with 0 hesitation. They try to bother Boscha and the Blights because they are Rich Powerful People (also Boscha being a piranha) but once they realize the twins are just little shits and Amity is a huge dork for a selkie they go "ew,,wait omg we're better than the Blights!!" and 'rub it in' their faces every time they meet by how they 'rose above them'

Fallen AU. Raine & the Batts are a traveling circus similar to the Grimm Troop. Raine was once a close adviser of Belos, but when they discovered the void experiments they fucked off to the edge off Bones Burrow trying to avoid Belos. Raine's mask was a gift from Eda & looks like a bat, they lean into the dracula thing to keep people from bothering them or to seem intimidating when they do help out. They try their best to rebel against Belos, but they are not skilled in combat, only magic. -Punk

the Batts are like the Glandis kids but instead of being annoying they're just fairly useless in terms of doing important things but like to think they're cool. which, to be fair, the fact they rebel at all catches the attention of a lot of people, but they're still working on the successful missions. baby steps.

masks are a whole Thing in the Isles so Eda gifting one to Raine was fairly important. not in the like romantic sense but giving someone a mask and them Accepting the mask is a sort of promise that you are close just in general. remember how in the episode Raine was like "no no Eda's chill we're friends" and the Batts calmed down? same thing in Fallen AU but this time its Raine also adding on "she gave me my mask" and that gets all of them to instantly calm to friendly.

MerAU: Oh! More thoughts! So red bellied piranhas aren’t the crazed predators media portrays them as (save for the dry season when it’s every fish for themselves). They are scavengers and will typically only hunt dying, weak, or sick fish. So basically, Glandis kids mooch of the work/hunts of others, like when they relied on Gus for the stones. Also, these piranhas has gold sparkles on their side. And I think Gus would be bedazzled by that -Nerd anon

Gus is like a crow. he sees glowy pretty fish and he cannot help but be dazzled by them.

the Glandis kids pretty much go after everyone or everything smaller than then by simply relying on being intimidating because, you know. piranhas. but if it comes down to blows they WILL betray each other for a morsel
