so I have an Idea for a Gravity Falls Holiday Story
I am not on AO3, and do not plan to make an account because truth be told I am terrible at writing out/updating full stories, so I am unlikely to actually write the fic myself. But it's been in my head for a while so I thought I would post an abriveted version here to see what people think.
So the premise is that it's Dipper and Mabel's first winter break since their parents split. The parents custody agreement lets the kids pick who they spend the holiday with this year. To get out of the crazy tug-o-war match their parents were playing with them, both twins said they want to go back to Gravity Falls. Stan and Ford have come for the holidays as well.
It starts with everyone doing their own thing. Abulita is cooking. Soos and Melody are decorating the shack and making weird and supposedly "holiday themed" attractions. Ford is off in the woods hunting winter anomalies. Stan is sleeping in his chair, yelling random things whenever he gets woken up. After Weirdmageddon Wendy's family decided against apocalypse training this year. Instead they are busy chopping down trees and carving logs into wooden totems, figures, and toys for towns folks. Everybody plans to meet up at Mugucket's place for a "Yippidy Big Hoedown celebration" that he is throwing. Advertisement says that the gates will not close for anyone.
Mabel has spent the past couple days making holiday craft gifts with Candy and Grenda and the day before the party they are both to busy to come over, so she finally has a chance to buy supplies and work on their gifts. Dipper has bought most of his gifts, but he is stuck on what would be the perfect gift to get for Wendy, so he goes to the store with Mabel to look for ideas. While walking back to the shack they run into Pacifica and Lazy Susan who are both carrying large cardboard boxes. Pacifica shouts something along the lines of "Hey look what blew into town", before heading over to them. Mabel and Dipper say "hey" and ask her what is in the boxes. Pacifica and Lazy Susan set the box down and there are 7 cats and kittens between the two. Pacifica says that she has started volunteering at the animal shelter with Lazy Susan, and things are getting pretty crowded. They are hoping to find these guys homes for the holidays. Dipper and Mabel want to help.
Pacifica and Lazy Susan explain to them that the box with 4 cats (1 adult 3 kittens) are strays who there just aren't enough room for to stay at the shelter long term, and the other box has 3 (2 adults 1 kitten) that the shelter has been struggling to find homes for as they are frequintly rejected by adopters. In that box sits a one eyed, large toothed, messy pelted, void. A ginger cat with an abnormailty: two tails instead of one (this cat can possibly fly by spinning its tails, but only when no one is looking), and a white furred blue eyed kitten. The white kitten climbs out of the box to pounce on Dipper's shoe and rubs against him when he goes to pick it up. Dipper takes an immediate liking to this kitten and asks why it's having a hard time getting chosen. Lazy Susan tells Dipper that the kitten is completly deaf.
While Dipper is looking deaf kitten Mabel is looking at the one eyed void. Pacifica says adopters are scared of him after Bill. Mabel then shoots up saying she knows someone who likes scary stuffy, before running into a shop. She comes back a few minutes later dragging Robbie by the arm; Tambry is following behind them. Robbie says that he does not want a cat as a pet. He already has his tarantula, and cats and spiders don't get along. Mabel doesn't give up though. She asks Robbie if his parents like cats. He admits that "they do". She tells him that he should get the cat as a present for his parents. It would be a great mascot for their service, could catch any mice or rats in their house (Robbie demands to know how Mabel knows they have mice). Then tells a white lie to Robbie that "just for him" the cat is half off the regular adopters fee (Pacifica had told them all the rejected cats were) "if he and Tambry make and send out a post about the cats looking for homes". Tammy tells Robbie they should get the cat because they need a gift for his parents. His tarantula stays inside his room, so as long as he keeps his door shut the cat won't find it. Robbie and Tambry agree to her deal.
We then get a montage of the twins trying to convince different people to adopt the cats. Dipper has no luck. He takes the 2 tailed one into the forest to see Grunkle Ford and asks him to adopt it. He says weird, which makes it like he and Grunkle Ford. Then Dipper asks if Ford knew that in many ancient cultures ship crews brought cats on board as pest control and good luck charms. Ford tells Dipper that luck is superstion and he does not think Stan would agree to have a weird cat on the boat with them. Then he turns back to his hunt.
Dipper asks Soos and Melody if they would adopt one of the cats. But they tell him that they cannot afford two vet bills, what with Gompers getting older and starting to have more needs. Dipper goes to Mgucket thinking that since he is rich and loves animals they can convince him to adopt all the cats. Mgucket likes the cats and starts to say yes, but Tate comes down and says that they have enough pets, after his dad brought all the stray animals from the dump to live with them. So Dipper needs to take the cats away. Mgucket frowns but agrees with Tate.
Mabel however is really good matching people and pets. She gets Nate and Lee to adopt a pair of kittens that they see wrestle. Blubs and Durland adopt a kitten that she holds up to their faces and tells them how it needs a couple of dads. Lastly she gets Toby Determined to adopt an adult cat after brutally telling him that no makeover will convince Sandra Hortenez to date him, but hey studies show that cats improve loneliness. Pretty soon they are left with just the two tailed cat and the deaf kitten, which they end up taking with them to the party at Mguckets. Maybe they can find adopters there.
At the party Stan comes up to Dipper and says that he heard Dipper tried to sell Ford a mutant cat, and Ford told him no. Dipper nods. Stan then says that he is disappointed at Dipper for giving up a sale after only the first hesitation. Then he says that he actually has no issues bringing a only sorta freaky cat on his and Ford's sailing adventures. Next Mgucket comes bounding up to Dipper saying that because of him he keeps thinking about all those animals in the shelter, and if he cannot offer them a home then he wants to at least offer them a meal. So he is going to write a huge check to the animal shelter to buy food and beds for the animals. Lastly Soos and Melody come up to say that they think its really great that the twins are taking an interest in helping homeless pets. They want to set up a donation sign and collection box at The Mystery Shack for the shelter now.
Mabel and Pacifica (she is with them at the party) start jumping up and down, Pacifica runs to go tell Lazy Susan, and Mabel tells Dipper that this proves he did a good job asking the right people about the cats. Dipper looks at the white kitten who is all that is left now, starts petting it, and sadly laments that he could not find it a home. Mabel says that since Dipper likes this kitten they should take it home with them. Dipper reminds her how mad their parents were when she brought Waddles home. Mabel reminds him that their parents calmed down once they learned Waddles was fully hosue trained, and that since she got him registered as an emotional support pet the landlords have to be fine with him too. What if they say that the kitten is Dippers emotional support pet. Dipper thinks about it for a moment then says that between honners class he is taking, and the two clubs he joined to improve his social life, and looking for oddities around their home town he does not have enough time for a pet.
Then Wendy comes running in. She see's Dipper and Mabel, and rushes over. She says that Robbie and Tambry told her about the cats and how one was deaf. She quickly asks if that one has already been adopted. Dipper tells her no, and shows her the kitten. Wendy happliy takes the kitten and hugs it to her chest. Dipper says that he did not know Wendy likes cats. Wendy tells Dipper that she loves them. She has want one for a long time, but she knew her house would be to scary for a cat with how noisy her family is. Dipper smiles as the realization dawns on him and he finishes "but a cat who can't hear won't care about noise". Dipper tells Wendy "happy holidays" and asks what she wants to name the kitten. Wendy wishes him "happy holidays" back and tells him she thinks she will name her kitten "Pine Tree", after all the pine she has carved this holiday, and also after this really cool friend she has.
What If The Steven Universe Characters Were Pokemon Trainers redo
I have been making pokemon teams for characters from other cartoons for I think around 3 years now. I have fun with this game. I did Steven Universe some point in the first year, but I never really liked the teams I picked for the charcters back then. Neither did that many fans, whom I do not blame. I look at my old list and am like "These are wrong" and then "I could remake this and do a much better job".
Well I have time now, we are doing pride fests where I live, and a friend at work has been talking to me about how much her teen and the teen's partner like watching Steven Universe together, which has gotten me thinking about the show again. So to wrap it all up here is my new version of "Pokemon teams for the Characters from Steven Universe".
Garnet
Picking pokemon for everybody's favorite fusion is a hit tricky. I needed to think up a team that Ruby, Sapphire and Garnet would all love.
Kanto & Alolan Vulpix: two tiny little cuties, one of whom has fire powers and another of whom has ice. Both of them are very different but also the same. These two make perfect representations for Ruby&Saphire.
Mawhile & Sableeye: picked first because they are version exclusive pokemon the the Ruby and Sapphire games. They can be a tough paralle to Ruby and Saphure while the Vulipx's are a cute one Second they are really powerful pokemon in their own right. I could see them being really good assets to Garnet in battle.
Mega Venasuar: Garnet loves her organic planet, where she is allowed to live her life the way she wants to, as herself. The bulbasuar line is unique because its not recognized as exclusively a sentient plant or a grass powered animal. It itself is a fusion between flora and fauna, the two things that make up the planter Garnet chooses as her home.
Hariyama: well I guess I am rounding out Garnet's team with the least symbolic pick, oh well. Garnet's known for being the strongest of the trio, and she fights with large, heavily hitting fists. Hariyama is poweful pikemon who fights the same way. I picked it to be Garnet's sparing buddy.
Amethyst
Amethyst and her team. They are loud, they are messy, and they are perfectly imperfect creatures
Ditto: first things first, of course Amethyst would have a ditto. Amethyst last favorite games and form of self expression is to shapesift into different forms and objects. That's ditto favorite games too, and they can play it together.
Snorlax: second thing second she should have a Snorlax. Snorlax love to sleep, eat, and are powerful opponents. I see many epic battles, as well as a lot of leisurely naps and meals in Amethyst and Snorlax partnership
Turbish: in recent games Turbish will run up to potential trainers because it wants to be wanted and loved. Amethyst badley wants to be those things too. Her and Turbish can be each other's emotional support garbage cat and undersized gem. Neither of them will ever care if the other is a mess.
Incineroar: a Powerful fire cat who wrestles for sport, and enjoys showing off for a crowd. Incineroar can serve as asecond Wrestling partner for Amethyst. It also make a good Heavy hitter for he team. Lastly since it is a starter pokemon and fire/dark, instead of fighting type wrestling is more a fun sport to it, and it will likely be less effected when she gives up pro wrestling. They will still battle together.
Loudred & Spindel: Amethyst party crew. Loudred loves music, and making sure its message can be heard. Spinda loves to dance and will do so until it falls down from dizziness. Yeah Amethyst can relate, and have fun with these two.
Pearl
So regal, so beautiful,... so strong, so powerful
Clampearl: so Pearl can have a pearl. I had to do it
Nacil: because Pearl's whole temporment/attitude is famously a little but salty.
Ageishlash & Ceruladge: here is a good team of high ranking, regal appearing, and very, very frightening knights to work underneath the lead of the most famous "terrifying renagde" knight known to gemkind.
Femdale Oinklong: female Oinkolng's are neat freaks who love to clean and have dusters on their tails. Pearl is the one whobkeeps the gems space clean and Tidy, and her having a pig who wears (very pretty) makeup as a chore partner is to funny to pass up.
Primarina: powerful, silly, graceful and fancy looking, a theatrical showoff. Whom I talking about? Primarina or Pearl? They both have plenty in common to use to battle and perform together. Primarina rounding out Pearls team also means that each of the three original Crystal gems has a starter of a different type. How fitting.
Steven Universe
They have the power. They do not want to use it against you. Do not make them
Gardevior: if I said "powerful princess pokemon" who would you think of? Me personally, I would think of Gardevoir. Since Steven's character can kinda be summed up as "a very powerful (male) Princess " then it seems only fitting to give Steven Gardevoir to represent that Power level and Princess energy. Gardevior can also restore other pokemon's power levels when they are injured, and Steven has healing spit.
Aggron: Once again Steven is basically a fairy-tale Princess of a rock race. And you know what other fairy-tale creature is often associated with fairy-tale Princesses? ...Dragons! So of course the Princess of the rock race should also have a powerful rock Dragon.
Zamazento: a legendary battle sheid. This matches the first power of Steven's to develop and his strong desire to protect others. It might have once belonged to Rose Quartz and it partners with a pokemon of Connie's.
Male Mega Pyroar: to represent Loin. Pyroar definitely once belonged to Rose Quartz, but now recognizes Steven as his trainer.
Skiddo: An empath pokemon to represent Steven's strong sense of empathy. Also it's a mounting goat, and Steven has shown a fondness for the goats that live in the mountains (see Steven Junior).
Red Core Minior: If I remember correctly Steven is the one who made "the star" the symbol of the crystal gems. So of course he should have a star pokemon. Minior is the right one for Steven. It falls from Space and will only survive if caught and put in a pokeball very quickly, so catching it is n act to save its life. It then wants badly to return to space but it cannot, so its trainer has to help adapt to earth being its home. That is Steven Universe job.
Greg Universe
Good music and beautiful sensory can sooth a wondering, peaceful heart. In my last attempt I basically just gave Greg all the music pokemon. This time I want to balance that with the rest of Greg's interest too.
Toxtricity Amp Form & Altaria: I will still give him two music pokemon because Music is still a huge interest of Greg's. Toxtricity is a rock star electric pokemon, and Greg formerly tried to be a rockstar. Altaria is a song bird that has a very nice singing voice. It also is covered in very warm fluff and in cold temperatures will sleep on pe1ople to keep them warm. Greg lives in a van and could use some more warmth.
Veravroom and Simipour: Cars are another big part of Greg's life. He lives in a full sized van (his choice), and he makes money through a car wash he owns. Veravroom fits his intrest in cars. Simipour can help him out at the car wash, and it also kinda of a hippe, which is a life style Greg follows to an extent: music, travel, nature, peacful wisdom, anti conflict. So they can be hippie bros together.
Togakiss: Greg is again a man who tries to stay away from conflict and loves the simple blessings of life. That is just like Togakiss. I could see it and Greg going all around the Beach city together just enjoying the fun of being at the beach, the barn, the peer , neighboring cities etc...
Rotom: with Greg's lifestyle he likely does not always have access to electricity or cable. Rotom is a good one for helping him use appliances in parking lots or on the road.
Connie Maheswaran
Not a Crystal Gem by birth. Just as capable of being a protector/hero of earth
Cubfant: a cute little, ceramic figurine looking, elephant that just fits with Connie's whole character. For one thing Google says that Elephants are the national animal of Indian heritage, for another they are known for having really good memories, and lastly Cubfant itself is great at helping its trainer by caring heavy loads, which metaphorically speaking, is what Connie does for Steven
Snorunt: might as well carry that last point into my next choice. Snowrunt is a very social pokemon that enjoys befriending kids and playing and having fun with them. At the start of the cartoon Connie dedicated all her time to school and her many extracurricular. She didn't really socialize much or make time for fun or play. Snorunt, along with Steven, can help her remember how important leisure is.
Zacain: This pokemon possibly belonged to Rose Quartz at one point, but following her death this legendary sword wolf has accepted Connie as its new trainer. In battle it and Connie will partner with Steven and Zamazento to protect what they love.
Escavalier: Since getting close to Steven and the Gems Connie wants to be a knight like Pearl. I wanted to give her a more traditional knight pokemon, and since Pearl already has Ceruladge and Ageishlash I figured Escavalier would be a pretty good pick for Connie.
Lucario: A martial artist and a fighting type that is known to show great wisdom in battle. Connie takes martial arts, and she makes up for not being as powerful as gems by being smarter/more clever than many of them.
Noctowl: Another pokemon that while not one of the super genius is known to have an enhanced intellect. It also has enhanced vision, which on this team can reference that all the way back in season 1 Steven fixed Connie's eye's and she has had perfect vision since.
Lapis Lazuli
Here is the true coven of the water witch
Poliwrath & Kingdra: Lapis Lazuli's powers are water based, and while not the highest ranking or "clarity", she was easily the most powerful character after the diamonds. So she needs fitting titan level water types. I am sorry but she is just not mentally stable enough to be trainer to Kyoger or Gyrodos. I am not looking to bring the great flood 2.0. Poliwrath suits her because it is a powerful water/fighting type with large, aquatic, fists. Kingdra is a water/dragon type capable of creating poweful forces of nature. Lapis can still easily dominate the feild, and will have to practice restraint to keep from becoming a menace herself.
Ducklett: it is a water and flying pokemon, and Lapis is a water/flying type gem. I picked Ducklett out of others, because at its stage it is still learning how to use its wings. I remember an SU comic of Peridot, Steven, and Lapis taking care of an orphaned baby bird. Peridot didn't understand the bird, and Steven mostly wanted to make toys for it. But Lapis was great at taking care of the bird, and loved teaching it how to flap its wings and fly. She can do the same with Ducklett.
Honchkrow: here is another flying type pokemon for Lapis. Though this one is first and foremost a dark type, which fits with how dark Lapis's moods and humor can turn. Personality wise it known to be their. Honchkrow and one of Peridot's pokemon will partner to steal random objects for their trainers to turn into meep corps. It is great fun.
Munna: When I looked up what pokemon would make good emotional support pets Munna came up as a pokemln that could help people suffering from PTSD. Its small, cute, non-threatening, and it has dreamed based abilities that could be used to help a person sleep undisturbed. All this sounds like a pokemon Lapis would love to have.
Lunatone: Its the moon. The moon ties to water because it controls the tides. Crescent moons have symbolism to witches and Lapis's nickname is "the water witch". Lastly Lapis hid on the moon when she lerned that the diamonds were coming to earth, implying that she see's the moon as a safe space. Lapis finishes her team with Lunatone
Peridot
Why did I ever think she would be an electric type trainer? Peridot's true type. Powerful short pokemon, mixed with powerful pokemon that think big.
Tinkaton & Metang: Peridot is rightly very proud of her engineering skills and her intelligence. I wanted to give her pokemon that represent that. A will let her have a fully evolved Tinkaton, she deserves it, but I am placing her Metang at its middle evolution because I think coming to earth showed her that, while she is very intelligent, she still has a lot to learn.
Linoone: a thieving pokemon that loves to take random objects. It will partner with Lapis's Honchkrow to steal materials for their trainers to make into Meep morps. Once again, great fun.
Dugtrio: so here is a ground type that digs into the earth, mess with the ground, and creates networks of underground holes, dens, and tunnels. Homeworld does things like that to the planets it colonized. But Dugtrio does these things to play ground, turn spoil, great gardens, and ultimately help nature. Catching Dugtrio symbolizes Peridot beginning to change. That she is starting to care about earth, nature, and Organic life
Yellow flower Floette: adding to Peridot beginning to change, she finds gardening really enjoyable and therapeutic as an activity. So i'm giving her a Floette to help her grow lots of beautiful gardens. I am going to give her the yellow one since, even after leaving Yellow Diamond, she still seems to really love yellow colored plants (corn and sunflowers).
Pumpkaboo: For pumpkin of course.
Jasper
So the way I see it Rock types and fighting types are about the only pokemon Jasper would really want (mix in a couple water types influenced by her and Lapis's former relationship) . I also think she would be a big fan of fossil pokemon because they are strong and she is a traditionalist.
Shiny Rampardos & Arodactyl: So Jasper's gem weapon is actually a helmet that lets her charge into solid objects and break them apart. Rampardos uses its dome to attack the same way. It and Jasper battle the same, so they might as well do it together. For Arodactyl quite simply it is a fossil rock that can fly. Jasper is interested in the advantage that flight could bring her in battle. Arodactyl is also one of the most terrifying fossil type pokmon, and it has a pink shiny. I made both Rampardos and Arodactyl shinnies so they would look like members of Pink Diamond's court.
Dracovish: Dracovish is a water dragon type. But it is a fossil pokemon, and it's one of the strongest and most dangerous beasts among them. That alone would probably peak Jasper's interest. It also harkens back to Jasper being Malachite with Lapis. As bad as that situation was Jasper really liked how powerful they were. Afterwards She tried to get Lapis back, and then still lived under the sea alone for weeks. Who's to say she wouldn't have taken an interest in powerful, prehistoric, sea monsters while down there?
Barbaracle: Barbaracle is hard built, muscular, and striped like Jasper. It is also based off barnacles which are known to be heavy and very clingy, whixh is also like Jasper. Barbaracle can be Jasper's second sea pokemon.
Embora: I felt like I needed give her one of the three fire/fighting starters. I picked Embora because it is military inspired, and as such fits Jasper best.
Annihilape: a Powerful fighter who gave their life over to their anger towards past events, and is unable to stop fighting or give it a rest. Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is in the reflection?
Lars Barriga (Lar's of the Stars)
Lars was especially fun because I could pick pokemon to do a really cool native on his mental state.
Scrafty: Scrafty and Lars are one in the same. Both a short, rude punks, who try and act like they do not care about anything, but its not true
Phantump: Underneath all of that Lars is like Phantump: just a scared lost little kid, looking for a friend
Grbador: he wants desperately to be loved and appreciated by others. But he is convinced that people look at him and those he gets along with as something that should be thrown out. As if nobody ever found treasures in the trash. (Please note the best friends Lar's ever made where "defective gems" that homeworld "threw away").
Strawberry Sweet Ruby Cream Alcreamie: he really should give himself more credit for his own talents. Like his baking skills. Who would have though that a guy with such a tart personality enjoyed making treats so sweet.
Shelgon: Lars really needs to understand that the main thing holding him back from achieving his dreams is that for so long he was just stuck inside his own shell.
Deoxys: In the end Lars was capable of making stratagies and taking on feats that reached across space.
Sadie Miller
I did Lars so I figure it's only fair to do Sadie too. Her team was also pretty fun to make.
Dachsbun: Sadie was originally known around town as "Donut girl", because she reay did put a lot of work into making the donut shop her and Lars workd at a great pastry place. Dachsbun I am thinking would be a cute little mascot she brought it to attract customers and it used the aromatic pastry smell it gives off to make more people hungry for donuts.
Tyrogue: Sadie and Tyrogue are both tiny yet very fit and strong
Floragato: Sadie and Floragato are both known to be prankster who require a lot 1 on 1 attention from their favorite people
Psyduck: poor Sadie has so much stress and anxiety that she is not ready to face yet. So she tries to work through it by making other people work through their own. That is not always healthy of her; trying to make Lars her fixer-upper project definitely strained their friendship in some cases. So let's give her a pokemon that really could use her help in dealing with its headaches; and maybe helping Psyduck could give Sadie the tools to try and help herself.
Mimikyu: Sadie is another character that really wants people to love her and see her as someone special. She also really likes spooky things and the horror genre. So I could see her and Mimikyu being great emotional support for each other. Maybe not everyone gets them, but they will get each other.
Obstagoon: One way Sadie found to express herself was through music. She had to put in work to learn to get over her stage fright. But once she got there, man for awhile she was rock star.
I made a post with a few weeks ago with pokemon teams that I thought would be good for Anya and her school friends once they trun 10. That was a lot of fun and I wanted to continue, so I made pokemon teams for the adults. When I did the kids in had three rules for their teams: they had to have a starter, a dog, and could only have one pokemon from a mega line. When I made the adults teams I tried to figure out some rules for helping me narrow down teams, but actually found I did not need any. They all have pretty distinct personalities, and it was easy enough to find 6 pokemon that fit them by just saying "what would they like?" and "who would be helpful to them". The only real rule for this group was"no shiny pokemon". Shiny pokemon are great, I love them. But 4-5 of these characters have secret lives/identities, and carrying a very rare and noticeably different than normal looking pokemon could expose them. So "no shiny pokemon".
Fair warning this post may spoil some things for anime only fans, or manga fans not caught up through mission short #18
Twilight a.k.a Loid Forger
Just to set the record I only imagine one of these pokemon as actually belonging to Twilight himself. I will tell you which one. The others all belong to WISE and were given to Twilight for the duration of Operation STRIX. Handler knew which pokemon would set Twilight up good though, so no worries
Slowking: Intelligence. You have to be a genius to be a good WISE agent. Twilight is a genius. But he had to di so many missions though. I bet having a genius pokemon to assist him in intellectual situations would be really beneficial.
Braviary: Just as missions require vast intellect, they also require physical strength. Braviary was added to Twilight's team to be his muscle. Barviery is a veteran solider bird, that never gives up in its quest to protect what it seems worthy. Twlight and Braviary will understand each other we and work well together.
Ditto: For the man of 1,000 faces. Some parts of missions are unexpected and require quick adaption
Gogoat & Comfey: these two are there to help sell Twilight as "Loid Forger the caring psychologist" Gogoat can read a person's emotions. Comfey calms down people who are stressed. Both are pokemon that would be very beneficial to Loids line of work.
Marshadow: This is Twilight's actual pokekemon partner. Twlight's prowess as an agent make him a myth in dark circles. It feels right to give him an elusive mythical partner, and Marshadow is the perfect choice. It hides inside the shadows of objects and people. When hiding in people's shadows it studies them until it understands their feelings and learns their skills. ...this is a spy pokemon. I am going to say that Twlight met Marshadow on the streets when he was still [Redacted]. They hid together, survived together, and eventually became friends enough for Marshadow to allow [Redacted] to catch it. It's still with Twlight; living primarily inside his shadow, and only allowing itself to be visible when they are alone. But since Anya and Yor joined their "family" Marshadow, like Twilight, has become curious and interested in them. It finds itself wishing to understand, like it does its trainer.
Yor Forger a.k.a The Thorn Princess
Yor and her pokemon are the full package: beautiful, sweet, and deadly.
Roserade: A strong and thorny rose pokemon to battle alongside the thorn princess
Weavile: a dark and mysterious figure who lurks in the shadows and attacks with sharp bladed claws. Another powerful ally of the thorn princess
Gardevior: Gardevior is super protective of its trainer, and has healing abilities in case someone on Yor's team get hurt. Given the danger level of her opponents I am adding Gardevior to Yor's team.
Bewear: Here's the fierce, protective, mama bear energy Yor has. It also kinda ties into Yor being so strong that she can cause damage to others simply by being affectionate
Swolot: this one is here to be Yor's pet basically. The pokedex says it has an acid stomach and can eat pretty much anything. So theoretically it could eat Yor's food scraps and be fine afterwards. That alone earns it a place on the list
Umbreon: Chosen first because both it and Yor have red eyes and black hair. But I also think it's nocturnal nature benefits Yor too. On nights she has to go out for a job Umbreon can act as a guard pokemon for her house and any sleeping children inside (Yuri when he was a kid. Anya now). On nights she stays home, Umbreon can sty up with her
Yuir Briar a.k.a SSS Second Lieutenant
Yuri's team was fun to make. Smart and strong pokemon. But everybody's to busy being hardcore to even learn to spell the word "calm"
Stuffel: a younger version of his older sister's Bewear. It also represents how Yuri's coworkers see him: this baby faced youth that loves to fight, and will savagely maul anyone who dares to underestimates it
Graploct: no way Yuri only has one fighting type. Yuri's first appearance showed he is good at using locks and holds that his opponent cannot get out of. Graploct also uses that fighting style
Garganacl: why did I give Yuri a strong wall of salt you ask? Because Yuri comes off as the type to appreciate the defensiveness of a salt wall. Especially when that salt has healing properties.
Metang: representative of Yuri's intellect. Reminder he is one of the smartest characters in the manga. I would have let a Yuri have a fully evolved metagross, but then he could potentially go after Twilight with a mega version... law of the manga says that Twilight has to have the edge by some. So Yuri only gets a Metang for now.
Crawdaunt: it thrives in harsh conditions. It can stomach things other pokemon cannot. It has a hostile and confrontational nature. It also looks like an officer. Yuri and Crawdaunt are human/pokemon versions of each other
Arbok: Arbok is characterized as having a single minded fixation and relentless pursuit of its chosen prey. It helps Yuri hunt for and catch his targets with the SSS. The ultimate goal for both of them is to catch Twilight, and they are on the hunt
Nightfall a.k.a Fiona Frost
Just like with Twilight I would say that somwhere between most and all of Nightfall's pokemon actually belong to WISE, and where given to her for the mission. But WISE would know what pokemon and types Nightfall most effectively use
Frostlass: two ice queens working together. Let it snow ladies.
Glaceon: another really good ice type pokemon. It also means both Yor and Nightfall have eevee evolutions. ... how very fascinating.
Sawk: fighting type pokemon is another type, besides ice typing, that Nightfall would work really well with. Nightfall likes to improve her own physical strength by going up to the mountains to train in seclusion. So let's give her a pokemon that trains that way too.
Mienshao: Mienshao is a speedy fighter who's quick moves can overwhelm its opponent. This matches well with Nightfall's hit fast and hard style of fighting.
Chancy: Nightfall is never very concerned about her own safety on mission, only that she can help Twlight. She and her pokemon will inevitably get hurt and need medical help. Besides her alias "Fiona Frost" is a nurse. Chancy is a perfectly normal assistant to a nurse, right?
Arbok: Yeah she and Yuri both have the same pokemon. While I do not agree with some fans that Yuri and Nightfall are the same character, I will admit that they do have the same singular goal driven mindset, and that still fits Arbok. If Yuri's Arbok is chasing after Twilight trying to catch up to and ensnare him, Nightfall's Arbok is chasing after Twilight trying to intercept opponents. ...Wouldn't it be interesting if these two Arbok's, along with their trainers, met in battle one day.
Franky Franklin a.k.a ...the informant?
It is mostly designed to be sneaky. I think Franky would prefer to stay out of big, all on the line , battles. But people he knows would still pull him into such battles. So he still needs at least a couple heavy hitters
Kecleon & Noviern: as a skilled informant Franky obviously needs eyes and ears keeping watch of the underworld. And here are two pokemon to function as just that.
Weezing: Weezing provides Franky with a thick smoke cover when he has to get in and get out of shady situations
Theivul: Theivul helps Frankey steal for his clients, and provide him with extra protection when certain clients (Twilight and Nightfall) rope Franky into situations
Tinkatuff: Franky and Tinkatuff share the passion for tinkering and building. They do it together in their down time
Volbeat: It could function as a source of light in the dark, but really I gave Franky a Volbeat because both of them are known as huge simps.
Martha Marriott: Dancer, Soldier, Nanny
Beauty, grace, danger, pain, resolve, and strength. Words this trainer and team would know well
Quaquaval: Quaquaval is one of the most accomplished dancers of the pokemon world. It can do a variety of mesmerizing dances, some from far away lands, on very powerful well trained legs. It is super joyful and spirited in personality, but will practice its craft with seriousness. It also has a secondary fighting type, making it a perfect partner for Martha
Grumpig: A good psychic type pokemon, and another really good performer. Grumpig wears beautiful pearls, and to activate its psychic powers it does a step dance that is considered very popular with audiences.
Dragapult: Now let me step away from Martha's dancing career and more into her military career. Here is a brave, and fast, pseudo legendary, air craft career dragon. To represent how brave, fast, and elusive Martha had to be during her time as a solider
Tucannon: A power packing bird, that lives hard and battles hard. For the women who also loves hard and battles hard.
Male & Female Indeedee: these two represent Martha in the manga's present day and age: a very attentive value and nursemaid, that help Martha take care of Becky Blackwell.
Henry Henderson: Mr.Henderson Teacher/Housemaster
The Goal is Elegance, Achiving and maintaning it is the mission
Serperior: a beautiful and regal snake with sharp eyes and a high class attitude. A truly elegant partner for a man who prides himself on the elegance of his appearance and manner.
Milotic: Milotic is also an elegant pokemon, considered by many to be the most beautiful of all. Its temperament is as fine as its appearance. It has the power to calm down arguments. Mr.Henderson became an educator to steer people away from getting into fights. Milotic can help.
Alolan Ninetales: Ninetales is a calm pokemon that has wisdom from experiences. I went with the alolan version because I feel ice is a more fitting type for Henderson (he keeps a cool head) than fire. (...p.s. it wasn't until i made this list that I found out how tiny Ninetales is)
Mega Drampa: Drampa is a sweet, protective, grandfather like figure to to the children it comes across. So it really fits the relationship Mr.Henderson has with the first grade students that he teaches. I do believe Mr.Henderson could help his drampa learn mega evolution, and then they would protect the kids together
Vivillion (Elagant pattern): This one speaks for itself
Eldegoss: I figured Mr.Henderson would have a flower pokemon. I picked Eldegoss because is seeds can help enrich soil to make elegant gardens, and its cotton can be woven into fine fabric to be made into elegant attire.
Donna Schlag a.k.a Old Lady Tonitrus
The clouds roll in. What's the most powerful part of a storm the teacher asks? The answer is: the lightning
Luxray: this is the pokemon known for having the best eyesight. Nothing gets by Luxray. It is also sharp clawed, intimidating, and very watchful over both its territory and its young. Luxray is a perfect pokemon to prowl the halls of Eden and ensure order with Mrs.Schlag.
Aloln Raichu, Mega Raichu X, Mega Raichu Y: Before I got to Mrs.Schlag I was really trying to keep all the characters at 0-1 mega capable pokemon max. But I got to thinking about who this women is, just how much she would love Raichu, ... and well I really do think she would love and appreciate every Raichu form
Murkrow: Murkrow is about to go on my "stop putting it on nearly every list " list, but it works here. A small, sharp eyed, and creepy little bird, with a knack for stealing. It can keep watch on the students from above, then swoop down and swipe anything against the rules that they try to bring to class.
Nuzleaf: rounding out Mrs.Schlags team we have a flute playing ninja pokemon. For those whom have read the latest short story you know that Mrs.Schlag studied ninjutsu in her youth. As for the leaf flute... kids who here that sound echo through the halls have but mere seconds to fix themselves up and remember to act like ladies and gentlemen
Hemlock a.k.a Mr.Jones
I wasn't going to add Hemlock to this list at first. All we really know about him is that he likes blades, isolation... and Garden nicknamed him after a poison. That last one helped. I made him a team
Gallade: a very skilled and knowledgeable swordsman. The sword seems to be Hemlocks weapon of choice. He would have respect for Gallade's skill, and vise versa
Sneasler: a different variant of Yor's Weavile, that embodies the difference between Yor and Hemlock. Weavile are pack pokemon that draw strength from the groups they form. Sneasler on the other hand is a solitary pokemon who prefers to operate alone.
Vilplum & Carnivine: dangerous garden plants for this dangerous garden assassin
Toxapex: a fierce and merciless hunter and a poison type who's poison spines can weaken a foe for at least 72 hours? Hemlock would be fascinated by Toxapex.
Arbok: because if I am going to give both Yuri and Fiona Arbok's, then I need to complete the triangle of obsessively driven pursuits, and give one to Hemlock too.
What if the kids at Eden could become Pokemon Trainers
One of my favorite games to play is to take the characters from cartoons outside of the pokemon anime and build teams of pokemon for them. I am really into SpyxFamily right now, so I wanted to play using the kids in it. Yeah I know in current cannon the kids are all only 6 (Anya is actually 5). I am setting this game 4 years in the future. Let's pretend that when Eden students reach age 10 their is the option for the school to pair them with a starter pokemon (let's say that starters from each region are available) and then they can go on journeys and build teams during semester breaks. Coming back with full cases of badges/ribbons/key chains or tournament trophies can be another way of earning stella stars.
Here are the rules I used when designing the teams
1.) Each student does get a starter pokemon, and I figured I would nice this time around, so I had all the kids be able to level original partner pokemon up to their finale evolutions.
2.) Everybody got a dog pokemon on their list. The first 3 kids I did were Anya, Becky, and Damian and they all have pets dogs. While looking at dog pokemon to be Bond, Wiesel, and Max I also found dogs that worked well for other character too. Doggies for everyone
3.) The kids each get a maximum of 1 pokemon capable of mega evolution, or 1 pokemon that will be capable of mega evolution once they raise it its finale evolution.
4.) I do not like giving characters fully evolved teams. I like when pokemon have the option to grow and progress with their trainer, so there will be some pokemon on each team that the kids are not done raising/training yet.
Anya Forger
starlight star bright, Anya and her team will make the bad vuys see stars tonight.
Inteleon: here is one line and pokemon that had to be on Anya's team. Inteleon is a spy, and a weapons master, and a former scared&crying child who grew stronger and more confident under the right support. It's a Forger pokemon.
Arcanine: I picked this pokemon to represent Bond. I can think of a couple other dog pokemon that look a bit more like Bond, but I would say that Arcanine is similar to Bond in that they are both big, fluffy, loyal, and heroic
Kadabra: Because of course Anya would have a really strong psychic type. I considered multiple different ones, but I kept coming back to this line and how similar it felt to Anya's own powers. I put Anya's at its middle evolution so it could stay awake long enough to train and play with her. I fully believe Anya could one day get Kadabra all the way up to Mega Alakasam. But resembling how much those scientist pushed her, I think she would chose to raise this pokemon more relaxed and slow.
Skidoo: Anya has a water type and fire type, so now she needs a grass type. Skidoo and Gogoat can read the feelings and emotions of others through their pulse. That's similar enough to Anya for her to relate to Skidoo; while at the same time just different enough to make Skidoo a unique asset to Anya's team.
Star Sweet Salted Cream Alcreamie: our girl has a sweet tooth, and she loves cakes and goodies (particularly nutty ones). Getting to enjoy as many as she can is one of her missions. So I figured she would love a pokemon that helps its trainer bake. Salted cream seemed like the Alicream that would be best at making peanut goodies. It's a star sweet because earning Stella's is still the main mission.
Shiny Wooloo: I gave Anya this one to go with a pokemon on Becky's team. I made her Wooloo a shiny because Anya's different upbringing and abilites kinda make her come across as a black sheep among her high privilaged school mates at Eden. But hey black sheep can also be amazing sheep; something Anya and her Wooloo are out to prove.
Becky Blackwell
Becky's team changed the most as I was making it. Each Pokemon had to be tested against other potential choices till I found the ones that best fit her style
Blastoise: Since Anya's starter represents her understanding of her family's business I might as well carry that representation through this list. Becky's family produce high grade machines&weapons. So she can pair with the high power water tank turtle. Blastoise is powerful pokemon that would work best with a confident trainer. Luckily Becky is chalk full of confidence.
Fidough: this is to represent her dog wieezy. In the manga/show Becky owns a yorkshire terrier. I get the feeling Becky chose a small dog so she could easily dress him up, and could carry him around in a purse. Fidough is a tiny puppy pokemon that will remain tiny even after evolving. Becky can have all the fun of tiny dogs with Fidough.
Aromatiss: Becky cannonly loves fancy perfumes. Aromatiss can give off multiple different perfum scents. It fancy, feminine, scents also happen to be the closest thing to a "romantic" pokemon that I will give a young child. (Becky does not need a luvdisc or applin)
Beautifly: it is really girly and cute to look at. The pokedex states it also has an aggressive nature and can be absolutely savage when someone gets on its bad side. You know who that sounds like? ... Well Yor for one, but also Becky, in a kid way. Becky gets Beautifly
Pancham: Speaking of Yor and Becky's relationship: Becky has so much fun strength training with Yor, I had to give her fighting type pokemon that could represent these lessons. Pancham, like Becky, is an adorable little terror who greatly admires its techer/role model
Wooloo: a regular Wooloo to go with Anya's shiny Wooloo. Regular Wooloo's have more options for colorful wool cloths/accessories. Plus this way her and Anya can go from having best friend sheep keychains at 6 to best friend sheep's at 10.
Damian Desmond
The future of Ostainian politics. If politcal battles became pokemon battles how well would Damian and his team fair?
Empoleon: the Desomons are very high up political figurehead, right? Empoleon in addition to being stuck up, is an Emperor (a royal title) penguin. All in all I would say it's about as close as Pokémon has gone to making a political figure head/politician pokemon. Here you go Damian
Dusk Form Lycanroc: this can represent both Max and the surrogate Family (Pack) bond Damian has with Emile and Ewen. Damian is the leader of the group, so he gets the rarest of branch evolution.
Staravia: Damian really likes Griffins because of the one on his family's seal. Wiki considers Staraptor the closest pokemon to a griffin. I have been wanting a reason to place that line on s list. The staraptor line is great: determined, hard working, a refusal to give up when the chips are down. That is so Damian. So why am I only giving him a staravia? Because it's also a bird that's finale form is known for being more independent and less affectionate than the previous two. Just like with Anya and Kadabra, I could see Damian eventually raising a Starley all the way up to an Mega Staraptor. But I think he would want to go slow, and enjoy the powerful yet still attention seeking Staravia stage.
Tyrunt: Damian is known for being an acidemically gifted child, with history being his best subject. So he should have a fossil pokemon. Tyrunt is known to be spoiled and tenpermental. When it doesn't get it's way it throws fits and may even lash out at its trainer (thank goodness it's small). But Damian also did all of that when he was 6. So did his friends, including his crush Anya. Damian was actually pretty good at calming both himself and others down ( ex. Anya, when he was being nice enough to want to try). That is leadership and an important skill for politics. Tyrunt is more practice, and Damian can take it. He has a strong team supporting him.
Shroodle: Damian seems to like art, and is a pretty crafty kid. His art sometimes turns out weirder than he expects, but people still find it impressive, so hey. Here is a weird little drawing rodent to help Damin make his weird yet awesome craft projects
Torkoal: he needed a fire type and he likes to go camping with his friends. Here is a fire gril turtle for the next time they decide to catch and cook their own dinner.
Emile Elman
Making this team honestly turned Emile from a character I was kinda ambivalent to into one of my favorite background character. This kid has such a big heart and is so caring to his friends. Who in this child's life taught him to show love? Because he shows it everyday
Torterra: I do not know what Emiles family does for a living, so I decided he and Ewen could get the other two Shinnoh starters. Emile gets Torterra because it has the highest defense stats of the three, and Emile is the protective mom friend of his trio of friends
Midday Form Lycanroc: it goes with Damian's dusk form Lyconroc and another pokemon of Ewens. It represents the surrogate family "pack" bond the three boys share.
Litleo: he made a sculpture of a lion in the art class episode so I will wager a guess that lions are his favorite animal
Eevee: When the three boys were asked by the grounds keeper what they wanted to be when they grew up Emile said he didn't know yet. So I am giving him the pokemkon that has many potential future evolutions, because there are many things he could decide he wants to grow up to be.
Gulpin: Emile did say he loves eating snacks and candy. I am tierd of always giving characters that like to eat munchlax or snorkax. Emile can have a Gulpin instead.
Quagsire: he still needs a good water type. Lets go back to the camping trip and how worried he was when they all fell in the river, so here is a good water type pokemon that could help a fallen canoe rider back to the boat or shore. It could also potentially help them catch fish for dinner.
Ewen Egeburg
Damian is the leader, and Emile is the mom friend, Ewen seems like the trio's dreamer. Personally dreamers have my respect. I hope Ewen gets to the moon one day
Infernape: Emile is another child who we do not know what his family's does. He can have Infernape. It's a pretty versatile fire fighting type. I think Ewen would have a lot of fun being its trainer, and his friends would have a lot of fun battling with him and Infernape
Midnight Form Lycanroc: it goes with Damian's dusk form Lycanroc and Emile's Midday Lyconroc . It represents the surrogate family (pack) relationship the boys have with each other. Ewen gets the form that prefers night
Girafarig: Ewen made a Giraffe in the art class episode. So let me wager another guess that giraffe's are his favorite animal, and he would like a Girafarig
Clefairy: Ewen has been shown to be very interested in space, even saying that he wants to be a cosmonaught when he grows up. So it only feels right to give him a pokemon that is known for being interested in space travel
Lunatone: a lunar moon pokemon for the child who is fascinated by and dreams of one day taking a trip to the moon
Pansage: To round out his team Ewen needs a good grass type, that would be beneficial for his group to have on camping trips. I picked Pansage because according to the pokedex the leaves onto of its head are edible and can replenish the energy of weary hikers. So Torkoal helps them cook, Quagsire make sure everyone is safe canoeing, and Pansage helps them hike far distances.
Bill Watkins
everybody's favorite scary yet sweet giant
Chesnaught: The Watkins family are all high ranking military officials. They are overly competitive, but also very protective. The chesnaught line ends in a grass and fighting type poekmon with high defensive points and a chivalrous nature. That is absolutely perfect for Bill.
Granbull: Grandbull and Bill are just alike in how they come off to people: scary and mean looking on first impression, but absolut softies once you get to know them.
Rhyhorn: Now it is time to start giving Bill offense style pokemon to go with his defensive ones. Rhyron here is a wall of charging muscle that can knock down anyone and anything that has the misfortune of being in its path. It needs to go on Bill's team
Passimian: Passimian is another must have pokemon for Bill. It is a fighting type that can wrestle at close range. But Passimian specializes in long range attacks where it takes opponents out by firing projectiles at it. Bill excels at dodgeball, and here is a dodgeball pokemon he can train with.
Politoad: Bill is more than all brawn no brain. The Manga specifically mentions that he uses math a lot and happens to be one of the top math students in his grade. I googled what pokemon had connections to math. It turns out the spiral on Politoad's stomach is a "Fibonacci Spiral", which is a symbol used in some complicated math formulas. The pokedex also says that Politoad is known to talk and sing in a deep voice. So we have a reason for Bill to be interested in it, and a way for them to relate through tones. Welcome aboard Bill's team Politoad.
Skiploom: a mid evolution weed pokemon for the child who grows as fast as weeds.
George Glooman
His team was the one I had the most trouble picking. I considered not making a team for him. Then I read recent chapters, and they reminded me how unfair that is. George you should be and are remembered here.
Typhlosion: I know that his family does or did, but unlike other character that does not really help me with chosing him a starter. I mentally paired George with pretty much every starter, and none of them seem like perfect fits for his personality. But Thphlosion, and fire badger who's hairs stand and get red hot under the collar whenever something scares it, is pretty close. They would make decent partners
Slurpuff: He can have this pastry pup. He is willing to share treats as a form of apology to the kid he wants to be friends with. Also Slurpuff's nose is powerfull enough to smell a person's health, which kinda does fit with the pharmaceutical industry his family is known for.
Shuppet: they have the same eyes and are both kinda cute but also pretty eerie. Shuppet also make helpful companions to people who struggle with feelings of jealousy and sadness. George has done some rotten things in the manga/anime. I will not defend him trying to get Demitrus and Damian expelled or him never giving back any of the other kids things. But in his heart he is more sad than he ever was bad.
Gloom: In addition to Slurpuff nose Gloom's grass/poison typing also suits George as the child of pharmaceutical researchers. Also the pair share a name: Gloom and Glooman, so they are already basically family.
Jigglypuff: he likes to sing, and judging by his eyes and attitude he does not sleep enough.
Pyukumuku: sea cucumbers get a bad rep as being kinda lame. But they have some cool abilites, such as being super spitter. Even if Pyukumuku isn't the coolest or most popular water type, its still a strong pokemon that can land a good hit. Even if George isn't as popular as he wishes he was, he is still a pretty good kid overall.
Connie
I want this girl to become a regular so bad. I love the idea of "Starlight Anya" the "pretend spy" having Conne the spookie pretend witch as a friend. Becky will always be Anya's best friend, but she could use third girl in her social circle.
Delphox & Hattrem: Connie likes to use pretend curses, charms, and "magical items" to play that she is a witch, which is realy cute. Here is a tall witch and a little witch pokemon for her. I am going to take some liberties on the "doggies for everyone" rule, and say that since a fox is a canine it is technically close enough to a dog to count.
Alolan Pursuin & Swobat: Next a dark colored cat and a swooping bat can join Connie's team as cool pokemon firmilars
Gourgeist & Duskull: lastly these two ghosts. Hunting ghosts is what started what I hope will be a longer friendship between Connie and the Eden gang. Pluse they are cute and halloweeny pokemon, that I could see a spooky girl like Connie really loving.
Who/What I would like to see CBS ghosts do with "The Others"
So to recap the B plot of the Christmas episode Patience and Trevor Spend Christmas making out together. Trevor doesn't want a serious relationship with Patience, and to his relief she tells him the next day that they are from separate worlds and she doesn't think it would work. Trevor pretends to feel bad to Patience face, but he really doesn't. The next night he and Sass are playing with a scratch-and-sniff sticker (flowers good idea) in the kitchen, and Patience comes back to the manor. Patience tells Trevor that she hasn't stopped thinking about him, and she wants to bridge their separate worlds by introducing him to her friends: the others. We see the silhouettes of 3 new characters step out of the shadows. From their silhouettes it appears that there is 1 man and 2 women.
Before we start let me say that I do not expect any of these characters to ever move topside and became main characters. I do not really want that since the show already has 10 main characters. But secondary/guest characters are a revolving door on the show and I see no reason to think we will not get 1-2 episodes of these 3 now, with the potential for them to come back and visit at a later date. Also what I am posting isn't necessarily what I think is most likely to happen it is just a wouldn't it be cool if this did happen
1.) Wouldn't it be cool if the one guy ghost turned out to be Thomas Woodstone. Hetty's son, Alberta's murderer. Making him a ghost on the property has a lot of potential. We would get Alberta getting to confront him on her poisoning. Hetty would get to see and speak with her son again. Someone on Tumblr got me curious about what Thomas and Sam's relationship would be like since he is her ancestor too, and it would be Hetty's biological son and her surrogate daughter meeting. Lastly wouldn't it be cool if at some point in the future Thomas was topside during an episode when Elias came around to cause trouble. Which parent would Thomas side with?
Now on how Thomas got underground. He dated a mob guy and did not accept their break up, killed the women Al Capone was obsessed with, and inherited some unlawful businesses from his parents, so I could see him having enemies that maybe buried him. But another theory, what if Hetty put him there? He died an old man in his bed at Woodstone. Hetty had told the other ghosts she wanted a private word with her son before his soul ascended, so they agreed to not be in the room at the time. That was all Hetty wanted, but then Thomas turned into a ghost. Hetty then becomes afraid of Thomas meeting the other ghosts and what will happen when it eventually comes out that he killed Alberta. So in desperation she hides Thomas in the dirt, just until she can come up with a way to neatly explain everything. Maybe Thomas still came back secretly at first and he and Hetty got to spend time together, but then he stopped visiting and Hetty thought he just got lost underground.
My only stipulation for this is that I do not want him to be introduced as a new love interest for Issac. I would say that at this point, with how long Nigel and Issac have been broken up and the lack of interest that either have shown in getting back together, that it is fine to give Issac a new love interest. But it doesn't need to be Thomas Woodstone. (Narrativly it would make the most sense for Issac to develop feelings for a male basement ghost. He has spent a significant part of the season trying to bond with and win approval from that group. Give that arc a reason outside of a completely bogus "election"). No if Thomas comes up I want Alberta to get to yell at him, make him say sorry, possibly get a few swings in. After that let him spend some time with his mother before he goes back into the dirt. Maybe it turns out that he is actually bi and is in a relationship with one of the other two female dirt ghosts If only because that might make Hetty feel better about her son living in the dirt.
2.) Wouldn't it be cool if one of the girl dirt ghosts was a former friend/lover of Thor's. Some people have wanted to explore the possibility of a dirt ghost being a ghost that the topside ghosts used to know and thought had been sucked off. Thor has been around the longest, and he has the most colorful dating history: he was married when alive, took part in orgy's, has had at least 3 serious girlfriends since dying, as well as an unknown number of flings (Nancy, Carol, etc ...). Right now Thor is happily in love with Flower, and I am not trying to break them up. I do not think Thor would ever even consider going back to an ex based on how much he loves Flower. But it is pretty common and interesting for us to get looks into Thor's past by bringing in ghosts that Thor used to know. There is an opening spot in that area since we won't be seeing Bijorn until the Farnsby's move back. Plus I would actually really like to see how Flower, polyamory loving, what is jealousy Flower, would react to meeting someone from Thor's life before her.
3.) Wouldn't it be cool if Sass started dating on of the girl dirt ghosts?. This one is the one I find most possible. Again, before anyone gets into it I did really like Joan, and I would love it if Joan comes back in the next 1-2 episodes and gives Sass a really good reason for not visiting when she said she would. If she never comes back then I do hope that Pete eventually goes looking for her and comes back with word that she got sucked off... (I honestly care less about if that is true than I do about Sass getting that closure and the other ghosts to stop mocking him). But seriously Sass deserves so much better than how the writers treated his character in season 4, and so far in season 5 they are not doing better. They said in season 4 that they wanted to explore Sass being in a real relationship for the first time in his life. Then we had all that crap about him getting made fun of for being a virgin. Lastly it ends with Joan supposedly really liking Sass, only to mysteriously ghost him after the first time they are intimate? No, writers no. Bad writers. Do what you said you would and put Sass in a real relationship. Not a one night stand or week long fling like before.
A dirt ghost girl girlfriend could also work to explain why Sass has been absent from so many episodes due to Roman having roles on other shows. Show them together above ground when the actress is available. If Roman is not available then take 10-20 seconds one time for one character to ask "Hey where is Sass?", and then another to say "Oh he went to that underground cave to visit his girlfriend" "Will he be able to get back to the house?" "It's 10 yards in a straight line to get there, and she walks him back so he goes in the right direction. He will be back in a day or two".
no clue why yall mad at Pawbert being a villain. considering he’s a privileged white boy from a powerful upper class family who claimed to be an ally to a marginalized group until the threat of losing his status approached, in which case he betrayed that group, actively contributed to their potential deaths, abandoned them, and returned to his privileged (and most protected) class, he’s the most realistic character in the movie.
What if The Scooby Doo Gang/Mystery Incorporated were Pokemon Trainers
I love making Pokemon teams for characters from other cartoons. It is s lot of fun. I have held off on Scooby Doo for a while because its not just one cartoon, or even one cartoon and a movie. It is a multiple cartoons spanning multiple decades and has a couple dozen movies. To truly do The Mystery Gang justice I would have to pull from multiple sources when making there teams . Now I very willing to do that, but I wanted to practice a bit more as i tackled less...broad franchises first. I decided last summer that I was ready to make teams for the Scooby Doo Franchise (I have already done so many other Cartoons and was not ready to stop), and that around Halloween would be a fun time to release them.
To make this teams list I used Character traits from the classic Scooby Doo Cartoon, What is New Scooby Doo, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, Be Cool Scooby Doo, and many of the older animated movies
As always I made a couple rules to help with picking the teams, and this time I really only have 2.
1.) All of Scooby's pokemon are canines. In the past I have left the group mascot off the list and just given every member a pokemon similar to the mascot to represent that characters relationship with the mascot. But Scooby Doo is more than a pet/mascot. He is as active on his team as any other member, and he deserves to be a trainer just as much as his five friends. I did all canine pokemon to give Scooby a sort of mixed pack that run with him at the lead.
2.) Because in addition to solving solving mysteries this gang also like to search for ghosts, ghouls, and other creatures of darkness each team had to have at least one ghost type pokemon as well as one dark type pokemon. Those would clearly be be favorite typing among the gang.
Now lets get to the teams below
Scooby Dooby Doo
what pokemon are OP enough to follow the this OTP dog into battle? look and see
Stoutland: First up in Scooby's pack I had to go with Stoutland. It is a very loyal pokemon, that is known to perform rescues up in freezing mountins or lost at sea (both places Scooby and his friends often wind up). It also has a keen nose and a talent for finding hidden objects, a.k.a clues
Boltund: Scooby is known for his speed at running, so he needs dog with the speed to keep up with him during a chase. I also really wanted to give him an electric pokemon that could provide bright flashes of light on dark and stormy nights. I put the two qualities together and it equaled out to Scooby having a Boltund
Zoroark: So this pokemon is the reason I have been calling Scooby's pokemon Canine's instead of dogs. Zoroark is technically a fox (a be it it is a fox that likes to disguise itself as other creatures so it could sometimes pretend to be a dog). Well Scooby needed a dark type pokemon and with his god like levels of disguising himself, how I not give him a Zoroark. If Scooby needs to do a disguise and he isn't with Shaggy or they are doing a bit that needs more than 2 actors then he brings out Zoroark
Mega Absol: I have used Absol a lot on previous lists (its a great pokemon) and I told myself that if i used it on this one i had to retire it afterwards. I haven't done ATLA yet so I actually found myself comparing Scooby Doo and Prince Zuko. Which one has seem more horror? Which one has worked harder to prevent disasters? Winner: Scooby Doo. And now since I am thinking about just how many horrors this dog has seen and how much he has done to keep people safe from at times supernatural god level threats... I cannot say that he does not deserve an Absol that is at Mega level
Growlith: Scooby is a dog that is scared of many things, but he is also very brave because he is willing to face his fears for those he loves. I want him to have one pokemon to show that kind of courage and loyalty. I also figured Arcanine might not listen to Scooby and give him grief if he told it to dodge/run instead of fighting head on. But Growlith would be an easier and more obedient pokemon to Scooby so it can stay unevolved for a while
Greavard: Scooby also needed a ghost type. Greavard is the doggy ghost line, and it would be fun for Scooby Doo to have this reaper ghost pup to round out his group.
Norville "Shaggy" Rogers
Like Zoinks dudes I got six pokemon
Snorlax: It loves to eat, loves to nap, fights like a beast when the need arrives. If Shaggy were a pokemon trainer Snorlax would easily be a pokemon he would be best friends and a fierce duo with.
Shiiniotic: So Shaggy feels like the kinda guy who would have a mushroom pokemon, and Shiiniotic feels a lot like the kind of mushroom that Shaggy could be buddies with. Its got a groovy design. It can serve as a flashlight/nightlight when Shaggy is stuck investigating dark and creepy places. It can also make people very drozwy when time to rest and send burst of energy to friends when they need it.
Mimikyu: Look I love it when Shaggy and Scooby, the two cowards, are able to make friends with nicer monsters and ghosts (Red shirt Shaggy I will always be a fan). Shaggy needed a ghost pokemon, and Mimikyu is like the most friend shaped ghost pokemon of all. It put a costume on to play with people and avoid scaring them. That seems like a gesture Shaggy would really appreciate
Hitmotop: Another cool guy. Shaggy is really good at dancing, and he is a tough guy in his own way But I think he would probably do better in a fight if he thought it was a dance off.
Chatot: I was remembering that Shaggy likes ventriloquism and comedy and I thought Chatot could help him with that. This one is one Shaggy has to help with his team's moral. Very important
Ash-Greninja: Shaggy still needs a dark type and at this point I have to pay respect for Shaggy's athletic prowess. This dude is canonically the fastest runner and best gymnast in his and the gang's school. So I googled the fastest dark type and got Ash-Greninja. That is prefect because in addition to Ash-Greninja's great speed it is also acrobatic, and also has a really silly design when you think about it. An all around great pokemon to finish off Shaggy team
Velma Dinkley
Jinkies so many clues to peace together and mysteries to solve.
Shiny Noctowl: Owls symbolize wisdom. Noctowl is known for being very smart and strategic. Shiny Noctowl has the same color pallet as Vema. Enough said
Female Jellicent: So I first picked Jellicent as Velma's ghost type because it is a pokemon that I personally find really cute in a quirky way, just like the best cartoon version of Velma are. Secondly her having a ghost/water duel type plays into how in Be cool Scooby Doo she a significant case of hydrophobia that she was working on overcoming. I liked that, I thought it was a really cool and relatable struggle to her character. Lastly Jellicent has lore that types into the Bermuda Triangle, a place that you know would peep this mystery loving girls interest.
Honchkrow: I really dislike that some movies or cartoons or whichever started saying that Velma has no likes or interests outside of solving mysteries. That was not true in my childhood. Anyone remember in "The Witches Ghost" when she was a big fan of gothic literature? I loved that being an interest of hers. Here is a gothic lit like dark type pokemon for her. It would be really great at bring her clues and finding her glasses when she loses them.
Magearna: Another interest of Velma that I miss was how robotics in What's New Scooby Dooo". In that cartoon I remember she was in Robotics clubs, competed in contests, and her friends all came to support her. It was super great. She liked making cute and friendly bots ( she once won a big contest with a robot pet she molded after Scooby). I imagine she would be really fascinated by the history and lore of Magearna, and that she would have a lot of fun fixing it up and making sure it could function/battle/ and live just as fulfilling a life as an organic pokemon. Magearna for Velma's ace
Orbeetle: i swear i also used to watch a cartoon or movie where Velma had a big interest in biology, but I cannot remember which one. Regardless Orbeetle give that bizarre , sort of creepy, but fascinating esthetic that intrigues Velma and makes her groups line of work fun for her. It also is famously brilliant and very observant of its surroundings so it would be really great for helping her peace together mysteries
Gothitelle: It is an odd, offbeat, smart girly that struggles with feeling detached from others due to its intellect. So it's kinda its Velma in goth pokemon form. I think Velma would relate to this pokemon a lot and it could be good company for her on the road when she has those moments of feeling like the odd one out in her group.
Fred Jones
Now Fred has 2 teams to take on adventures
Spidops & Meowscarade: So there are likely a few fans that expect Fred to have a team that is completely centered around traps. Well I tried that at first, but Fred is more than just his special interest. I had space for two trap pokemon and I though really hard on who which pokemon could make Fred's dream trapping team. Spidops makes nets for Fred to use in traps. Meowscarade talents with magic and misdirection to help scare bad guys into traps once they are led into place by Shaggy and Scooby. Meowscarade also serves as Fred's dark type pokemon
Infernape: Along with traps and Vans it is Fred is established to be a sports fan/jock character. But unlike with characters like Daphne (martial arts) and Shaggy (gymnastics & cross country) Fred does not have a consistent sport. One version of him plays football, another he does weight lifting, then he just likes to watch sports on T.V., then he is the school soccer team. Infernape is Fred's sports buddy whom I picked for its versatility. Infernape is fully able to play ball, lift weights, or just go ape in the stands with Fred. It's secondary fighting typing could also come in handy against more threatening bad guys
Pom-pom Style Oricoco: Fred is a sweet guy and an optimist. He has complete faith in himself and his friends, prefers to look on the bright side, and will always try to raise his teammate moral when they seem down. This makes him a really caring leader (because Fred IS Mystery Incorporated's leader. Daphne is the muscle.), and a great cheerleader for his team. But sometimes he is the only one looking up in the team and that is got to be a lot. Every cheerleader deserves a partner.
Shiney Salamance: Fred believing in his team the way he is a good leader. And neither is that fact that he is the groups driver. He is also the member of the team who seems the most invested in their line of work. You really get the sense that driving around, trapping, and unmasking bad guys is what he has always wanted to do and he is living this life up. Similarly Salamance happily lives out the flight dreams it has had ever since it was a Bagon. As a bonus its Shiny is the same colors as the mystery machine (I am goigng to sya it likes to ride on the roof), that alone should guarantee it a place on Fred's team
Driftblim: Fred still needs a ghost type pokemon. Driftblim being a ghost balloon is pretty neat. Fred is a versatile enough character that "It is pretty neat" is reason enough for him to like/want/do something.
Daphne Blake
Everybody say "Jeepers" to these Beauty's and Brawns
Sableye: lets start off with a dark type pokemon. I picked Sableye first because it loves pretty and shiny objects. Daphne does as well, and her being able to provide Sableye with gemstones could highlight Daphne's wealth and love of shopping. Lastly after watching the awesomeness that was Be Cool Scooby Doo I really feel that we need more acknowledgement of Daphne being a high jinks loving gremlin.
Sensu Style Oricoco: We have a dark type so its time to move on to a ghost type. Sensu Style Oricoco is spooky yet elegant. It is in Daphne trade mark purple. It's a dancer being a dancer means that it is very physically active, and so is Daphne. Some fans like to joke about Daphne being a Klutz because she falls down a lot of hurts herself by accident. She does, but that is only because she has all these really physical hobbies where even the best will sometimes falls down or mess up.
Sawk: There was no way to not give Daphne a martial arts style fighting type. I went back and forth on which fighting type pokemon I should give Daphne. I know Sawk isn't the most exciting one. I went with Sawk because its wears ghee is basically the same as the one Daphne wears to martial arts tournaments. It basically comes dressed to go with Daphne to the dojo. If you what Daphne to have a more runway ready pokemon look below
Tsareena: The stomp stomp grass type beauty that really should have been grass/fighting type. A perfect trifecta of beauty, toughness, and girly-pop For Daphne's team
Obstagoon: Obstagoon is a pokemon that was thrown into a harsh environment and thrived there. Daphne would respect that. Also it is totally rock star coded and I have seen have seen at lest 4 versions of Daphne love performing in rock bands . At least twice that was how she told Fred about her feelings for him.
Drampa: Mystery incorperated's Daphne did a lot of babysitting for some pretty high maintenance kids. Drampa is a dragon that loves to babysit and will go all out on protect kids, so it would be a great helper for her. It also is a rocks a beard just like Be Cool Scooby Doo's Daohne did.
Just so Everyone is Clear on the Origions of Mega Raichu X & Y
Here is Mega Raichu Y
It's probably actually a Pikachu. Someone fed Pikachu berries after midnight, which we all know your not supposed to do, and it transformer into very mischievous gremlin. There are reports coming in that its former sweet temperament has been electrocuted strait out of its tiny body. It now charges opponents head on and follows a shock first ask question later mentality. IF you see Mega Raichu do not approach it unless you are wearing rubber gloves and protective clothing. If it lets you get close to it offer it some berries or pokefood (only do so during safe hours) then back away to a distance and wait for it to finish eating and decide to come to you. With luck its new form will be ready to time out by then, and it will now see you as endearing for taking care of it.
Here is Mega Raichu X
On the edge of the country a white pod seemingly fell from space at a great speed, and crashed into the dirt and ground below. When the smoke cleared a few brave locals forced the front of the pod open and looked inaide. A colony of Raichu scampered out and hurried off into the wilderness. Scientist came as early as the next day to take the pod away for testing. In shocking news the Pod has been revealed to have been created by the Saiyans who once inhabited the former planet known as Planet Vegeta. Whats more since this discovery there have been frantic phone calls of shocking claims of wild Raichu turning gold, floating into the air, and gaining enhanced strength to wear they can easily take down much bigger opponents. That is right people. The Raichu form this pod, Raichu X, are in fact Super Saiyan Raichu. Officials advise that Should you see a Super Saiyan Raichu X in person, you are to remain calm, hand over any food you have on you, and do not attempt to catch said pokemon or engage it in battle unless you are in possession of a high level ground or rock type pokemon
But for real I saw Raichu's two new mega forms (That makes 4 forms for Raichu. I guess gamefreak heard the fans who said to give it more love) and these were my thoughts on the little zappy mice. All things considered these designs are pretty cut & fun looking. I personally prefer X's design, as I do not understand why Y has those antenna's. Welcome to the most exploited line in pokemon history little mice. Will we you in just the games? The games and the anime? Toys? Only time will tell .
Side question. Will only Kantonian Raichu Mega evolve?
What if he characters in Xiaolin Showdown were Pokemon Trainers continued
One of my favorite games on tumblr is to make pokemon teams for characters from other cartoons. A few months ago I made a post for Xiaolin showdown. I gave a the four dragon monks plus jack teams of six, and then picked teams of three for seasonal villains: Wuya, Chase, and H.R.B. Making the list allowed me to spend a lot of time thinking over different traits and characteristics that made me love these characters so much as a kid. It was a lot of fun to make. It also let me found out that there is still an active fandom for Xiaolin Showdown on Tumblr. All this prompted me to make a continuation of my post. So I gave the three big villains full teams, plus I picked teams for 4 smaller characters in the show. Lastly while I have only seen like 3-4 episodes of Xiaolin Chronicles I did make a team for Ping Pong, and once I did him I kinda felt like I had to do Shadow. They are at the end of my list. I also put a link to my first list at the bottom for anyone who wants to check out the teams I picked for Omi, Kimiko, Raimundo, Clay, and Jack
Review of my rules
1) Team Formation: I carried the 2-2-1 formula (2 fighting types, 2 element based types, and 1 mega) that I made for the 4 monks and Jack over on this list and used it for Ping pong and Jermaine. Yes Jermaine is on this list. Going over his character helped me pick an element for him. Chase Young, Master Monk Guan, and Master Fung all have a 2-1 formula (2 fighting 1 mega). Master Fung does not wield an element. While Chase and Guan's are hinted to have once been elemental dragons, we are never told what their elements where. Besides it seems like they stopped using there elements after their "break up" anyway. I did not really have a formula for Wuya, H.R.B, or Shadow. I just picked pokemon that I consider to fit them.
2.) Still no dragon types: On my first list I talked about how important it was to me to give each of the monks teams that were equal. On this one many of the characters have significant relationships with Chase Young, who's diet is well known to include dragons, and I do not want to think about any pokemon getting eaten. Plus Master Fung is on here. Dojo would never allow any other dragons in Master Fung's life. So Yeah I still had to exclude dragon types.
3.) Mega forms that come out during Legends ZA do not count as mega pokemon on this list . I chose all my teams before ZA started releasing new mega forms, and I did not want characters to have more than 1 mega pokemon. I already know that ZA will mess that up. But rather than go through the hassle of replacing any pokemon that get megas in the future, I am just going to disregard those forms for my XS lists. Okay? Okay, lets move one
Pokemon Teams for the big Villains
Wuya is mostly a ghost type trainer, for obvious reasons But I threw on witch and a couple ground pokemon. . I wonder... was the ancient "Dashi Trio" ever a quartet? If we had gotten a season 4 would Chase have been reveled to have actually been the second member to turn bad?
Murkrow: I have been helpfully informed that Wuya's name means "crow" so she lets give her a crow pokemon. Murkrow also like to steal shiny objects to give to their masters. Wu are shiny, and Wuya would appreciate the gifts.
Lampent: a sinister light figure that will hover over Wuya's head when she has a plan; and the heads of her lackeys as this manipulative and opportunistic hag fills their heads with evil ideas.
Hisuian Typhlosion: So credit where credit is due. @pokemontheywouldhave originally suggested this one. Ascetically it was just to perfect for me not to use: the typing, the ferocity, the elegance, the purple and red flame colors. Wuya would have a Hisuian Typholsion. She just would.
Galarian Yamask & Golurk: A reference to the Mask Wuya wears as ghostly hag. I went with the Galarian form, because I feel it suits her better than the Unovian one (The picture is on it is of the serpents Tail. Bring Wuya the Serpents Tail, as well as the reversing mirror, and she will reward you).
Golurk: Wuya is extremly skilled at commanding Golem. But making them requires a level of magic/power she is not always able to be at. ... Wouldn't it be useful to her to have at least 1 ready made and powerful golem for when she herself is not at her full power. Enter Golurk
Hatterene: Physically here we have a full on chaotic witch, with the slim figure and all the hair. Hatterene is also capable of increasing its power by Gigamaxing. Wuya at her full power is able to Gigamax her Hatterene, and then the pair go from simply skilled&dangerous opponents to being much much more than that.
Hannibal Roy Bean
Like with Clay I gave Hannibal Bean a western themed teams. But unlike Clay's honest looking and cute a goof way critters. Hannibal team are outlaws that would pose for and autograph their own wanted posters
Ditto: Hannibal Roy Bean's trademark Shen gong Wu is the Moby Morpher. It allows him to change his shape and size, and spy on any adversary. But even with the Moby Morpher Hannibal can only be in one place at once. IF he had a shape shifting pokemon of a similar power then he could send it to spy on his Heylin foes, while he spy's on the temple, or vice versa. That sounds very helpful for information gathering.
Musharna: One of Hannibal's favorite manipulation tactics is to invade a trgets subconscious. He did it to Raimundo, to Omi, and while I cannon doesn't confirm it, he somehow knew the existence and strength of Chase's insecurities. Musharna is a pokemon that would be very helpful to The Bean when it comes to messing with the inside of others heads
Ekans: Hannibal and Ekans. Two snakes in the grass.
Mandabuzz: No I am not giving him a pokemon to replace Yin-ying. He still has her, and she is still his favorite pet. But with how much he loves birds he would probably have at least a couple bird pokemon. Mandabuzz is scary and mean looking. Also Raimundo has a Braviary. Rai having a heroic bird and Bean breath here having the villainous counter point fits with the rivalry the show tried to give them.
Hisuian Decidueye: While Hannibal is not a xiaolin martial artist he does fight enough for him to have at least 1 fighting type pokemon. Design wise Hisuian Decidueye is the most "Outlaw" looking fighting type pokmon, so I pick it
Wo-Chien: I usually do not give legendary pokemon to trainers, because they usually feel to strong for your average protag an antag. But given Hannibal and Chase's age, power, and history, they both seem like they would be strong enough trainers to have an element of ruin. For Hannibal Bean I chose Wo-Chien. Its a giant form of a small creature, that holds grudges. A good fit
Chase Young
Chase Young. What's there to say except that he was everybody's favorite good dragon gone bad.
Gallade: I must say it was very interesting to put Gallade on a villains team. One thing people loved about Chase is that despite fighting on the side of evil Chase insists on fighting challengers fairly. I always considered it to be more out of his sense of pride (if you have to cheat to win then you're weak and you know it) than any lingering sense of right and wrong still in him. But whatever his reason Chase and Gallade both fight with a code that they do not break. I could see Chase possibly mega evolving his Gallade in certain battles
Toxicroak: Toxicroak's pokedex talks about how quickly it it can change from lazily lounging around relaxing, to pummeling opponents with a fury of quick moves. This is really similar to Chase who time and time again could be shown quietly training, or making polite small talk to an opponent as he eats, only to immediately shift into battle mode, and sometimes into his reptile form, when it suited him.
Pyroar (female): We know Chase is a big cat person with a fondness for the jungle kind. Just like with Hannibal Bean and Ying-Ying I am not trying to take his army or warriors away from him. The narrative does lead us to believe that they all swore eternal loyalty to him. I am just adding a few pokemon to his army. Pyroar fits his esthetic the best. He has multiple lions already. Most of Chase's lions seem to be male. I will guess that is because most of the warriors he collected where males. The poxidex tells me that female Pyroars are better team players and more active hunters then the males though. So for Pokemon I think Chase would prefer to catch a female Pyroar
Purserkier: For Purserkier I will drift a bit a way from esthetic and lets talk a little bit about the lore of Chase's cats. They are all fallen warriors from different areas, cultures, and types of battle. Purserkier is based of a Berserker Warrior: an elite Scandinavian group of fighters known for their ferocity in battle. That is definitely lore Chase would be interested in.
Chien-Pao: Now if we take Chase's big cat esthetic, combine it with the lore of the elements of ruin (he would be as interested this as Hannibal Bean), and throw in Chase having an ace pokemon similar to Omi's pokemon, and we rive at a conclusion of Chien-Pao being on Chase's team
Polteageist: You can make or heat up soup in a tea pot. Polteageist is scary tea pot. Chase is evil because his favorite meal is Lao Mang Lone Soup. It just makes sense to give the evil soup drinker a scary tea pot pokemon.
Pokemon teams for Secondary Good guys
Master Monk Guan
In the show Guan usually came off as really stoic and serious. So I love that I was able to make him a team of mostly really goofy looking pokemon. It was not intentional, but a very happy accident.
Sirfetch'd: It's a fighting type that has a special fondness for a long tube shaped weapon that it has carried with it through a multitude of battles. Re-watching the show I think the reason Guan's spear/spears are so important to him is because he associates them with friendships he cares about (I am not justifying him trading Dojo to Chase Young. Chase isn't the man he used to be, and Guan never should have but helping Chase over doing right). But anyway I say give Master Monk Guan a Sirfetch'd and let them be sentimental about weapons together
Slither Wing: I wanted to give Master Monk Guan a past paradox pokemon since the series finale confirms that he himself is a paradox charcter from the at 1500 years in the past. How is he still here?!?!? I picked Slither Wing due to its Bug/Fighting typing. For one Guan needed a second fighting type. Also I checked Slither Wing against Chien-Pao. Both pokemon are close to equal in states. However Sither Wing would have the upper hand in battle, because Chien-Pao is weak to both its types. As warriors Guan comes off as being is a little stronger/more skilled at fighting then Chase (A fact Hannibal used to get Chase to drink the soup). Chase victory against Guan in that one battle came from him being a little smarter/more slick
Wobbuffet: Wobbuffet's had to be one of Master Monk Guan's pokemon, because when you make Guan flight hand to hand he and Wobbuffet battle the same way: They let their opponent attack first and then used the strength and speed of said opponents attack to take them down. Master Monk Guan's signature move "Repeal the Beast" is basically the same as Wobbuffet using either "Counter" or "Mirror Coat". A trainer and a pokemon that can use each other favorite move? They must become partners!
Gardivoir: Since Chase Young got Gallade, and he and Master Monk Guan basically represent the two sides of a Yin-Yang symbol (a reminder to anyone who wants to argue with me: neither side is all one color) of course they would need to have at least one pair of counter-part pokemon between the two of them. Huh earlier I said that Guan is stronger than Chase and Chase is smarter than Guan. Does it still make sense to give Chase the fighting type one and Guan the psychic type one? Of course it does! Chase is a strong and skilled fighter, even if Guan is better. Guan is really smart when he remembers to use his head, even if he isn't as slick as Chase. One person's talents do not negate the talents of another. If Chase Young can mega evolve Gallade than Master Monk Guan can mega evolve Gardivoir
Mr.Mime: Now we get a little into how Guan is clever. He knows how to play tricks, work angles, and act the part. But he mostly sticks to short skits that the person he plays will realize after like a day or two Mr.Mime, as a born pantomime, also does a lot of short sticks. If you mess its performances up it will smack you silly. This is a reference to how when Guan's tricks are brought to light he can still use his fighting skills to win.
Lycanroc (Midnight): Well it is also known for letting opponents attack first and then countering. More importantly it is also known for being a Lone wolf. Once upon a time Master Monk Guan fought for Xiaolin honor and beliefs with two close friends by his side. Today one of his friends is long gone, and the other now fights for the Heylin side. Despite losing his friends Master Monk Guan keeps going alone as a xiaolin monk
Jermaine
I decided "Lightning" was the element that suited Jermaine best. As a former friend used to complain when we watched ATLA it is actually a completely different energy than fire. Wiki says that it is associated with suddenness, power, destruction, and prosperity. Yeah that can all work well with Jermaine, so can two electric pokemon.
Hitmontop: His fighting type. Jermaine was shown to be pretty into Hip-hop right, and if i am not mistaken, a part of the hip-hop genera is break dancing. Hitmontop has a sort of break dance style way of fighting. It is always spinning, always on the move, and its opponents catch its hands and feet as it goes. Jermaine would probably find that cool
Galarian Farfetch'd: Like its evolution it carries around a long tube shaped weapon that it fights with. In Jermaine's second appearance he mentions that he has been training to be a xiaolin warrior and shows a talent at fighting with both a staff and a spear, two other long tube shaped weapons. So we all know who taught Jermaine to use those weapons, and who that person learned them with first. ... If Jermaine ever wants to give monk life another try I think I know someone who could maybe train him?
Electabuzz: This is his first electric pokemon. I was mostly looking for one that was built in a way that would make it able to play basketball with Jermaine. He loves Basket ball and competing in that Basketball showdown against Jack, with Omi, was the Spark that started Jermaine's interest in martial arts and becoming a Xiaolin warrior.
Luxio: I wanted to give him a feline pokemon, after he spent so much time trainging and learning form Chase Young. I went with a Luxio. Jermaine was unknowingly surrounded by a dark force and had it influence him, but in the end the light (By which I mean his true nature) shined through and he got himself out of there. Good job Jermaine
Frosmoth: Jermaine is such a cool dude that I had to give him an ice type. While their aren't a lot of them Frosmoth is a pretty cool choice,
Audino: A pokemon known for its amazing hearing and empathetic nature. Those are Jermaine's best qualities. In his first episode he heard a lost kid getting bullied and ran to help them because that is who Jermaine is. In his second episode Omi starts picking fights with Jermaine out of jealousy , and Jermaine is so hurt he never wants to speak to Omi again and is ready to throw down when Omi won't leave him alone.. But as he is at Omi when he still hears Omi say that he is sorry and was just jealous. More than that he feels empathy towards Omi, which leads to him forgiving him and the pair stopping their fight. Audino had to be on Jermaine's team.
Master Fung
I will not be giving Master Fung three more later. Master Fung was always more the quiet observer or silent judge than a person who really took action on a regular basis. So it makes more sense for him to catch around 3 pokemon he felt were good and then stop
Breloom: Alright Stay with me. Master Fung... fungus... mushrooms... mushroom pokemon... Fighting type mushroom Pokemon... Breloom. Master Fung should have a Breloom
Lucario: Is Luciaro one of the best fighting types in all of pokemon? Yes. Did I add Master Fung to my list so I could give Lucario to someone? It's possible. But really out of all the martial artists in this cartoon Master Fung is the one who is most likely to have trained in being able to sense, read, and go off of other peoples Aurora's in battle. It just fits his character. Lucario can mega evolve. While I do not see Mater Fung using Mega evolution to battle against the heylin forces (how often did he ever fight to began with), towards the later half of the show i could see him making the 4 young Monks battle against him and Mega Lucario to further hone their skills
Oranguru: Master Fung gets an Oranguru because both of them are wise old sages
Pokemon teams for relatives of Major Characters
because I am still having fun and wanted to do these two
Jesse Baily
Poison ain't an element, but it is a pokemon typing, and I reckon it would be Jesse's favorite.
Paldean Tarous (Blaze Breed): Both Baily Siblings have a Paldean Tarous. Clay being the oldest got to pick first and took a combat breed Tarous. Then not wanting to copy Clay Jesse grabbed a blaze breed Tarous. That actually works out great. They both got the typing that would work the best for them.
Heracross (female): No way is this girl strong enough to mega evolve any pokemon. I had to give her heracross: It is a bug and fighting type, and Jesse's character loves to bug people into fights. It also likes to trip and tip opponents, which is an underhanded way of fighting Jesse could get behind
Seviper: Her first poison type, a must have for Jesse. The Black vipers mean everything to her
Nidoqueen: Among her good qualities Jesse has notable leadership skills. She has a Nidoqueen because she queen of the bikers
Bramblin: Its a ghostly tumble weed and she is a Texas kid.
Rockruff: Rockruff starts out real sweet when its young. Then as it levels up it goes through an aggressive phase, and all you can do is let it go through that phase and wait for it to grow out of it. Jesse is doing the same thing herself, so she understands Rockruff. Hopefully one day Jesse and her family can better understand each other as well.
Megan Spicer
I love her and wanted to use her. She is to young to have a full team so I picked three pokemon. Jack could have caught them for Megan hoping she would play with them and leave his robots alone. All four of them totally ran wild all around his lair and continued playing with all his toys.
Stufful: Because it looks like a cute and cuddly toy, but also has a lot of strength to it and will grow up to be very powerful
Tinkatink: Because it is adorable and tiny, enjoys taking things, and when the mood strikes it is very destructive
Scraggy: Because it is looks lizard like and Megan had so much fun playing with Dojo, whom she thought was a lizard, when the monks came over to "play'
Pokemon teams for XIaolin Chronicles two additions
If I hadn't done them I don't know if I would have done the background Characters for the original show. IF you aren't interested in these two I understand feel free to skip them.
Ping Pong
When I first saw promos with Ping-pong I was actually pretty excited because I thought he was a missing brother or cousin of Omi's. That the monks had somehow found him and brought him to the temple so he and Omi could get to know each other. A dragon of Wood could have been pretty cool. If he had just been Omi's wood (and only wood) bending relative would people have liked him better? Scrappy Doo is not hated for loving and admiring his Uncle Scooby.
Hitmonchan & Hitmonlee: I gave Omi Sawk&Throh for lore reasons. Sawk& Throh are so similar to Hitmonchan&Hitmonlee that they might as well be early concept regional forms. Because Omi taught Ping-pong martial arts, and they fight similarly, Ping pong can have fighting types that are similar to Omi's two fighting Types.
Sky form Shaymin: His first Grass type. I picked Shaymin because in its sky form it is super fast, and Ping-pong is shown that he can regularly run at super speed. Since its also a flying type maybe Raimundo can help Ping Pong train it. I do not like that its stats are higher than either of Rai's two flying types. But Sky Shaymin is weak to flying type moves and when I add Rai's two's stats together he still has more wind power. So I will get over it
Abomasnow: Ping-Pong's second Grass type and a mega capable pokemon that I do not think he will ever mega evolve. If Shaymin represents the forest int he spring and summer when flowers bloom and everything is nice, Abomasnow represents the forest in winter when things get dark, cold, and more dangerous.
Paldean Wooper: Omi calls Ping-pong "Little Gecko" and according to Wiki Chase Young at one point turns Ping-Pong into axolotl (???) so I had to give an amphibious pokemon. Paldean Wooper is the one I picked. The Paldean form has a secondary ground typing so maybe Clay (who has much stronger ground types) could help him train it.
Fennekin: While he has lived all across the continent Ping-pong is probably french. The Kalos league was based of France, So I wanted to give him a Kalos pokemon. Fennekin is a from the Kalos league, also its small and Yellow. according to wiki Kimiko sees ping-pong "like a younger sibling". That can also be how her Ninetales see's Ping-pongs Fennekin
Shadow
I do not like Shadow. Her origin episode and her relationship with Chase Young are uncomfortable in a bad way. Never the less I will try to do her justice on my list. something I do not think Chronicles writters cared to do for the cartoon.
Sudowoodoo: Its a pretend tree, symbolizing how she first went to the tmeple pretending to be a girl named Willow, who was looking to train as a monk
Croagunk: Since she actually learns fighting from Chase she can have a fighting type that is the preform of one of his. ...I think the poison one suits them best
Alolan Meowth: I saw a clip where Chronicles trip where Chase turned 4 of the monks into Kittens (Why not cubs?), and Shadow was really excited to keep them, and she particularly wanted to train the kitty verison of Kimiko. If she likes kittens that much she may have an Alolan Meowth to train
Weevile: It is a super fast, dark type, Ninja pokemon that hides in the shadows. That fits Shadow pretty well
Shedinja: A second Ninja pokemon. This one is made from body parts another pokemon desides it does not need anymore after evolving. As uncomfortable as it is that's also like Shadow, and she could maybe feel kinship to this bug.
Frostlass: she and Omi were supposedly meant to be foils to each other, so i guess they can have counterpart pokemon. Omi has a Glalie so Shadow can have a Frostlass. Both are vengeful scorned women.
Lastly here is a link to my first list where you can see The four young monks and Jack's teams
💬 2 🔁 7 ❤️ 29 · What if the Xiaolin Showdown characters were Pokemon Trainers · Alright we go. As a kid I loved pokemon, and I loved Xiaol
Well first we have to tackle the elephant in the room of "Jay having been tricked into promising into selling his soul to Hell, and Elias coming to collect". This is clearly more than a 1 episode plot, but it we cannot have it run all season and still expect the show to remain lighthearted. So lets give the show 3 episodes to get Jay free from his contract
During those 3 episodes I want camp, I want slapstick comedy. Give me Sam researching crazy vudo ways to break devil curses. Maybe bring a witch doctor to the BNB
Have the ghost think Jay might die the same way one of them did. Thor uses the lights to codes "Stay inside" to Jay if the weather station predicts rain. Alberta makes disapproving humming noises if Jay tries to make himself a drink. At Issac and Flowers demand Trevor is writing "Wash your hands" and "Avoid bears" on every mirror and tablet in the house.
Hetty suggests at one point that they try to bribe Elias into letting Jay go by offering Elias some of whatever his drug of choice is. In one of his trips up top to taunt them though Elias tells them that Hell has loads of drugs. If they want him to free Jay they will have to offer him better, perhaps a replacement soul.
Have a handful of the ghost (Pete and Thor at least) consider/be willing to go to hell for Jay. But when Elias comes to collect a soul Patience senses evil again comes out of the dirt. When she see's Elias she pulls him into the dirt with her and he comes back a few hours later looking beat up. He frees Jay but says he will be back once "The vengeful and insane Puritan is sucked off".
Is it fair after that to say that I need Patience sucked off by the end of this season?
On to the more lighthearted. I need both the restaurant and Sam&Issac's book to gain success. Some fans have pointed out that Jay and Sam are getting to similar and their personal careers are a distinction. Besides that, we have only just started into the comedic potential the restaurant offers.
As far as the book goes I want it to be a success because I want Sam to get offered the chance to publish 7 more historical fiction novels. One for each of the main ghosts. Tell Thor's story using Gargoyles. I don't know what Sass would be. Alberta's now a siren. Hetty is the Baroness of the leprechauns.
Let a band stay at the BNB. What would the ghost be like at a concert? What would Sam and Jay?
Sass and Joan should start a prank war among the ghosts.
I want them to find another body, preferably one that has been long dead, buried on the property.
I want another resurrected spirit this Halloween. It's 3 years. This time let's get the spirit of a ghost who used to live on the property, but was sucked off to come back for a night.
I used to want Margaret Woodstone to come back one Halloween. But I have sense changed my mind. If she came back they would probably just say that she ran away from home, married a broke man her father disproved of, and then somehow was able to become educated and live a fairy tale life even though they were poor. I.e. they would once again make it seem like Hetty caused her own unhappiness and gave away her rights to her father and Elias in exchange for money. I am tired of the show acting like Hetty had any real choice in how her life went. Bring a ghost back who is not Margaret.
I was a little disappointed with Hetty's power being such a bottom tear one day a year. So I am hoping that they will do a Thanksgiving episode, and she will turn visible because the Irish also celebrate Thanksgiving (and 8 other holiday's)
regardless when she is next visible I need Sam's dad to come over for a visit. Hetty introduces herself as a great aunt of Sam's on her mom's side whom has gotten very well acquainted with Sam over the last few years... Sam's dad is not happy to run into a relative of his ex-wife's, and he and Hetty to get into a fight over spending time with Sam.
An episode where a nice Danish family comes to stay at the BNB. The family includes a child who can see ghosts, who keeps wanting to play with Thor.
Please please let the Fansby's go away on a romantic trip with 1 or 2 other couples. They offer to pay Sam to stop by their house once or twice a day to do basic house sitting tasks: water the plants/bring in mail/feed the cat/etc... Sam gets to meet all of the Fansby house's ghosts.
I want a "What If?" episode where we explore what life would be like if Jay was the one who fell don the stairs and gained the ability to see ghosts instead of Sam.
At least a B-plot from Nancy's point of view of her sneaking up stairs to spy on those weirdo 8 ghosts and their crazy livings then bringing the gossip back down to her basement friends. Maybe the basement ghost hatch plans to mess with the main 8. Include Nancy's relationship with Staurt and flesh out a couple more basement characters like Creepy Derek and the girl he is "basement Buddies" with.
Have a middle aged, and familiar looking guest come to the BNB and check in under the last name "Montero". That is Flower's last name. This guy is her nephew. Flower gets super excited and gives Sam a list of questions to ask Mr. Montero about his Dad, any siblings he has, his thoughts on weed. The guy at one point during Sam's questioning says he was actually adopted as a baby. Everyone basically goes "Oh okay". The he drops a bomb by saying that he was adopted by his biological uncle. His birth mother's name was Susan Montero. He knows that she died on this property and that Sam seems to know a lot about her.
We have to get Sass's death at some point this season. After last season I have kinda stopped expecting him to have some big and dramatic death. (Let's be real the show will never top "Holes Are Bad"). Some fans have suggested he might have died in his sleep from an unknown cause and I am starting to lean in to that'
If that is the case though I want the reveal episode to be a complete reverse of "Holes are bad". Like Sam realizes she doesn't know Sass's death story yet and asks him. Sass gives her a really big and dramatic death where he died saving his wife/child from an attacker. Sam gets emotional and runs to tell the story to Jay. Jay looks confused and asks "How did Sass have a wife/child when he was a virgin until recently?". Behind them a Ghost laughs and says that they watched "insert random Disney movie" the night before and Sass was just pretending to be "Insert random dead Disney parent". The ghosts then tell Sam that Sass tells them a different story every time they ask about how he died. They used look for any similarities in his stories to try and peace together an actual cause, but since none of them could hold a pen they had to keep track from memory which is hard. Then since Sam can write all the ghosts start randomly asking Sass how he died and telling her the details of any story he gives to write down. Sass guesses what they are doing and at first he just gives them increasingly different stories until he finally gets sick of being bothered. He calls everyone in and admits that his real story is just "I went to sleep as a living, and woke up the later as a ghost". He made those death stories up because everyone told stories about how they died and he did not want to have the most boring death. Flower or Trevor then points out to him that most of them died being stupid, so he has nothing to be jealous over.
I want an episode where Issac gets told that even if the book is a success that it is really unlikely it will ever get made into a musical. So then Issac wants the ghosts to make a play/musical out of the book and put it on in the ballroom. The ghosts agree to do this But if this happens I have specifics I want . 1.) Issac is not allowed to play himself. He either has to play a really minor role, or he has to play Hamilton (Whichever one he would hate more). 2.) Cat fight between Hetty and Alberta over the role of Beatrice, since she is technically the lead lady. 3.) The British shed ghosts learn about this and show up insisting that they get to play the British werewolf's, going as far as to sight "cultural appropriation" if they are not given the parts. The other ghosts give in. 4.) We find out that since the book has been changed to a work of fiction, Sam and Issac took some liberties and made Higgintooth a lot more aware of his sexuality than Issac was back then. In the book his character was romantically involved with his friend Edmund.
Now on to wishes from the shipping. *Puts hand on forehead and sighs dramatically*. The show once again has most of the characters in couples, and the 3 single ghosts have established love interests so we will probably get a lot of shipping based episodes. We will probably also get some break ups, because that is how you do drama in T.V. Sitcoms. So here is my wish list for this.
break up the episodes that are mostly about shipping so that they are not one after the other.
Also still have episode story lines to the platonic/family relationships in the show
Have one episode where it is Sam and Jay's anniversary and in a twist of the norm the main 8 try to plan something nice for them on their special day. It backfires horribly
Pete and Alberta are a couple now. I am not sure how the show will handle them as a couple. What will be their version of Thor&Flower both loving owls? Watching wrestling? Fantasy games?
Pete&Albeta and Carol&Baxter winding up stuck on a double date or having to share a table at a social event could either be really cringe or comically awkward. Both scenarios work in this show
I need at least one more episode where they help Sam and Jay do something deviant, and technically illegal, but victimless. Similar to the wine tasting back in season 2.
Break Bela and Eric up, but let Eric be the one to break up with Bela. Maybe he got a full time job in the country he has been doing humanitarian work in. He wants him and Bela to get married and move there together. Bela is not ready to get married and unwilling to move countries. So Eric breaks things off with her and moves by himself. I want Bela to be sad because that was her longest ever relationship, and I want Trevor to comfort her as a friend
Since Hetty got to go on a date last season it is Trevor's turn now. Pete mentioned knowing a cave women that he thinks Trevor would get along great with if he could overlook her bushy eyebrows. I want that that to be another roaming ghost that Pete knows. Since pairing up Sass&Joan worked out so well Pete brings the cave women over and introduce her to Trevor. Trevor is not that into her at first, the eyebrows and all, but later on they start to hit it off and hook up. The next day though have the cave women leave because even if she likes Trevor she is just not looking for a full relationship. Trevor is disappointed. The other ghosts cheer him up.
I have a bad feeling that Sass and Joan will not last. They are the least built up couple on the show and if the writers are going to break up a main couple it will probably be them. If they do end, please let it be because Joan got sucked off. No messy or bad break up. The show owes Sass that at least after the way they treated him last season.
I also feel like the show at some point probably will circle back to Flower&Thor potentially having a threesome with another ghost... and I will be honest: at this point in the show I am for it. Thor and Flower have dated for around 3 years now, they've said "I love you", supported each other through some hard realizations, and moved in together. They are a lot more solid than they were when Flower came out of the well in season 3. They have also said that they both like being watched. I can now better believe that they would mutually decide to engage in a threesome for fun, and not because Flower is scared to love and Thor is desperate to keep her.
But I need the third to be with a visiting ghost: a Poltergeist, a Roaming ghost (not Pete or Joan!), or Halloween night. No ghosts who "live" on the property and whom they see regularly. Have Thor and Flower enjoy it, but decide for it to be more of an annual treat, rather than a peppermint change to their relationship
Nissac.... Nissac. If you have seen any of my posts you know that I do not like these two together. They have no trust between them. That I do not consider Nigel to be a gentleman; in fact he is as sleezey and as big a liar as Carol. Lastly I hate how Issac would verbally state multiple times that he did not like the way Nigel treated him or his friends, but that he had to go along with it because Nigel was his "only option". All this stated I know that Nissac are getting back together. First they have to get better
Chris became a roaming ghost, so he will have to come back at some point. He has actually probably been back multiple times already, Issac just hasn't seen him yet. Also I do not know why some people think Nigel actually liked Chris. To me it was very clear that he was trying to cockblock/make Issac jealous. Well lets have Chris come back for a couple days and Issac see's him. Issac tries to keep Chris away from the shed and Nigel. Chris wants to head to the shed, and when Issac tells him "well they all think you left months ago" Chris replies with "Oh no they know I come back every few days/week or so. In fact one of them is probably expecting me."
Issac believes that means Nigel and Chris are a item now and sadly walks off. On his walk he runs into Nigel who is noticably alone. Issac asks where Chris is. Nigel asks what Issac is talking about, Chris left moths ago. Issac "No he's back now I know you to are together. You should go see him before he leaves again". Nigel says okay and walks off but he noticeably ducks behind a tree. Issac pretends to walk off before hiding behind another tree and watches Nigel come back then jumps out "Aha. Why aren't you going back to the shed". Nigel is startled then admits that he is not going back to the shed because Jenkins and Chris are making out there. This confuses Issac even more because as far as he knows Jenkins is completely hung up on Nigel. Nigel just says "Not when Chris is here", which makes Issac think Jenkins is either cheating on Nigel or dumped him for Chris. Issac comforts Nigel and the two share a kiss and seemingly get back together
Later on Issac see's Chris and Jenkins saying good bye and goes to yell at Jenkins for "Playing with Nigel's heart" as he believes Jenkins has done by chasing after him for so long only to throw him to the wayside for a "trist" with Chris. Jenkins gets annoyed and finally spills the beans to Issac. Nigel is poly, has been poly since they were all livings and all through their time as ghosts. That is how he has such "a high body count". Issac and Jenkins are not the only ghosts he has relations with. Does Issac really know nothing about any other ghosts besides his 7 friends? Lastly Jenkins tells Issac "You always acted like you were more special the the rest of us. But you were just his newest addition."
Issac goes to confront Nigel who tries to deny it at first but when he see's Issac does not believe hm admits that yes he has around 6 partners: Jenkins, Issac, a couple basement ghosts, and a couple from neighboring ghost boundaries. Nigel argues to Issac that monogamy was for women in their time, and according to Carol, who is married to Baxter but is also sleeping with Nancy and Crash, it has since become even more obsolete. Issac just tells Nigel that Carol does not speak for all relationships and he does not want to be "just an addition to a harem"
Issac and Nigel do not see each other until the play/musical episode. While playing the werewolfs something upsets Nigel and he walks off. Issac follows him. He believes Nigel is upset about the wearwolves losing the war and tries to kid him "Your side lost, you know that. You gave it a good fight though, it wasn't an easy victory for us yanks". Nigel turns around and yells at Issac "Why did you lie to me?". Issac asks how did he lie. Nigel says "You told me I was your first and only real paramour. But you were romantically involved with your friend Edmund. I saw it on stage". Issac explains that is a fictional change he and Sam made to the book. Issac says that when he looks back he probably did have somewhat of a crush on Edmund, but Edmund was straight, Issac was legally married to Beatrice, and the pair were just friends. Afterwards Issac asks Nigel "Why do you care if I was with someone else before you. You have been with so many other man. Before me, while we were together, and after." Nigel quietly admits "You were different. You were my favorite". Issac says "We cannot get back together unless you agree to me being your only". Nigel agrees. They get back together.
I can't wait for Yuri to spend more time with Chloe and suddenly from out of nowhere, he begins to experience these weird, squishy feelings whenever he's around her and then turn to Yor to express these feelings to her in secret while she's harnessing the exact same feelings for Loid.
Imagine the Briar siblings getting so giddy to discuss their love lives with one another.
So until it happens here is my Ideal "Chloe-meets-the-Forgers"
Yuri is still training to improve his speed, believing it will make him better able defeat Twilight when they next meet in battle. Chloe has started joining him on runs in the morning. She can be joining him as a friend, or this can be after they have started to low-key date each other. They are running through a trail at a park. By chance the Forgers decided to go to that same park early this morning so Anya and Bond could play and get some exercise.
Anya see's Yuri and starts running towards him shouting "Hi Unkie Yuri! What are You doing here?!". Bond runs at the pair too because that's what Anya's doing. Chloe startles every body by screaming and getting behind Yuri. It turns out she has a fear of big dogs.
Loid quickly leashes Bond and says he will take him to another part of the park. He is secretly glad for an excuse to leave, as he is still cautious about the possibility of accidentally giving Yuri more clues to his identity. Anya goes with her Papa, and angrily grumbles "If Unkie Yuri's new lady does not want to be friends with Bond, then I do not want to be friends with her"... (No worries, Loid and Yor will have a talk with Anya at home and explain phobia's to her. Anya and Chloe will have more chances to become friends at later dates). For now though Yor is left alone with Yuri and Chloe.
Yor is still new to the joys of having a social circle, and she has never met a friend of Yuri's before. So she is both delighted to meet Chloe and terrified that this scare will make Chloe hate them. Yor smiles really nervous and starts shaking Chloe's hand a bit to strong and for way to long, all the while she talks to her a mile a minute.
"Hi I am Yor, Yuri's older sister. It so nice to meet you. I am sorry about Bond, he is really a very sweet dog. You know as a kid I used to always get into fights with wild animals, and it would scare Yuri. At first I promised him I would just learn to run faster than all the animals. But Yuri was still afraid I would fall down one day and then they would be able to get me. So I learned about the pressure points on animal, and where to hit them to temperately make them stop charging. I could teach you about that if you think it would help?. I would just need to make a dummy of a timber wolf for us to practice on... I could do a bear, a boar, or a cow too. Are their any animals besides dogs that you are afraid of ?"
Chloe, with difficulty, manages to wrestle her arm out of Yor's grasp. She starts rubbing her wrist as she tries to process everything Yor just said and how she should answer. She opens her mouth but can only respond with "Err.... Where would I meet stampeding cows in the city?". Yuri, who's now smiling his oversized I-am-spending-time-with-Yor smile, accepts the lessons offer for Chloe. He tells Yor to bring dummies of any dangerous animal she can think of to his apartment so all three of them can practice pressure points together. He finishes with "Just remember my apartment is small, so to avoid it becoming to crowded you should come by yourself and leave Loidy at home".
While Chloe is unlikely to think Yor is the Superwomen Goddess Yuri believes her to be, I would like her and Yor friends. I also think that if she wants to be in a relationship with Yuri she might very well need Yor's blessing
What if the How to Train your Dragon Characters were pokemon trainers
Okay so one of my favorite games to play on Tumblr is to make pokemon teams for characters from non-pokemon cartoons. So since casting for the live action HTTYD movie came out, I have seen a lot of things on various website dash's and that has gotten me to revisit the parts of this media that I loved as a child. This has been very fun, and naturally I eventually decided to do pokemon teams for the HTTYD characters.
I do have a couple points about my lists that I want to adress before showing my picks. I am a person who really enjoys the cartoons (as in ROB/DOB/RTTE). The first movie is actually the only one I have fully seen, but I know what happens in the next 2 from my time in the fandoms (Rip Stoick). The main way this will effect my list is that I did not make a pokemon team for Eret Son Of Eret. I do not know enough about him to make him a full team of six. I know he becomes Skullcrusher's rider after Stoick dies. Druddigon is the pokemon I think best represents Skullcrusher. So Eret would have a Druddigon and five other pokemon that someone who knows him better can come up with. I did however make Pokemon teams for Heather and Dagur from the cartoons. I love both those characters (I wish they had made it into the third movie) and I wanted to include them. I also did one for Viggo Grimborn, because I wanted to make a villain team and think about how his team would match up in battle against Hiccups.
With Httyd characters covered let's go over some rules I followed for pokemon selection
1.) 1 gave each character a dragon type pokemon to represent their dragons.
2.) I do not like using legendary types on my lists because they are to powerful. Those would most likely be the godlike alpha dragons Hiccup and Toothless fight in the movies. Pseudo legionaries however can be used.
3.) On this list I excluded Mega dragons, because I ultimately used a non mega evolving dragon to be Toothless, and if Toothless cannot mega evolve then none of the teas dragons should be able to.
(edditing this rule because I have seen ZA's Mega Dragonite. I like it. Hiccup is now the only character on this list with a mega dragon pokemon. As he deserves to be)
4.) The groups main dragons all had to be dragon type pokemon, but some of them do have close relationships with background dragons, and due to the shortage of dragon pokemon I let background dragons be represented by other types.
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III
Shiny Dragonite: Okay I bounced between about three different choices on what pokemon would be the best representation for Toothless, before I finally decided to go with the original pseudo legendary Dragon himself. I feel this adds in Toothless's rarity, his speed, and heroic personality. I went with the shiny version because it is darker colored and Toothless is needs to be able to camouflage with the night.
Goomy: So my idea with this one was that Draonite would represent Movie Toothless and Goomy would Represent Book Toothless. Hiccup had two dragons in the books right? Goomy is a puny and weak looking dragon that is actually a baby version of another big and powerful dragon.
Accelgor: First off it is one of the fastest pokemon, and speed is one of Hiccups strengths. Secondly ninja's seen as unpredictable, which is also a strength of Hiccup's. Lastly it is connected to one of Astrid's pokemon, so it also connects to Hiccstrid.
Quailava & Tinkatuff: The Franchise's life on Dreamworks starts with Hiccup working as Gobber's apprentice and wanting to be more. What I like about that though is Hiccup wanting to do more does not equate him not liking Smith work, he just wants to do that plus more. He invents and builds so many fantastical devices to aid missions while leading the dragon riders. Quilava and Tinkatuff are his helpers in that. I am making them middle stages because that is a part of Hiccup's life that we see him growing in during the franchise and one I fully believe he continued to develop in post the franchise, so I cannot fully evolve them yet
Noctowl: This pokemon represents how wise and strategic Hiccup is in the way he devises plans and leads his team/people. Hiccup is Norse. The Norse associate Owls with wisdom in Norse mythology. Noctowl is known for being the wisest owl in pokemon, so its a perfect Brainy pokemon for Hiccup
Astrid Hofferson
Dragapult: Dragapult is one of the dragon pokemon I originally considered to use for Toothless due to its high level of Speed. However I did not use it there, and upon further reflection I think it is better representation for Stormfly. They are both very colorful dragons. It firing the Dreepy is the about the closest a dragon pokemon comes Stormfly's "spine shot", which was her primary attack in battle. Also in show verse Stormfly could fly faster than Toothless if she ate chicken
Escavalier: This is Astrids pokemon that goes with Hiccup's Accelgor. Astrid having Escavalier represents how she is the more traditional viking warrior to pair with Hiccups being a newer type of fighter. And the fact that Karrablast and Shelmet need each other to evolve into their finale forms shows how Astrid and Hiccup both helped the other grew into stronger/better versions of themselves through their relationship
Kleavor: Astrid's favorite weapon was always the ax, and Kleavor has one on each arm. It is also a very dangerous pokemon, that only a trainer who is both skilled and fearless would be able to train. Well Astrid is both those things! I feel like training Kleavor would be a personal challenge for her.
Grapploct: So its pretty obvious to me that the fighting type woudl be Astrid's favorite type of pokemon. I put a lot of thought into which fighting type pokemon would best suit Astrid. When she gets into hand-to-hand fights her strategy is usually to lock a grip onto her opponents limbs and twist or pull them in a way that causes her opponent to fall to to the ground. That matches Grapploct's method of fighting. Astrid and this pokemon could spar and take out many an enemy together
Timburr: Astrid also likes to build defense forces to keep the teams perimeters secure. Timburr is the perfect fighting type to help her do that. The only reason I am keeping it in its firs stage is that that is the stage where it carries wood around, and wood was the material Astrid used to build her defense systems
Doduo: Astrid canonically likes to get up at sunrise to began her day with some early morning training. I looked up if there was an "early bird pokemon." That was how I found out "early bird" is actually an ability that a handful of pokemon can use. Form that handful I decided to give Astrid a Doduo, because it's pokedex entries say that its heads sleep one-at-a-time and there for it is always on guard, just like our girl Astrid is.
Snotlout Jorgenson
Turtonator: Turtonator was an easy pick to represent Hookfang. A Dragon/fire type that is explosive to the touch. Trainers can also use its turds to set off explosions, which is similar to the explosions Snotlout was able to set off using the gel that secreted from Hookfangs scales
Scrafty: Fire types would likely be Snotlout's favorite type. But he would have at least one fighting type. Scrafty is the perfect fighting type for Snotlout. It's a Hoodlum. It's ridiculous looking. It's rude and short tempered. But underneath all that it really loves those it considers its friends and family, and will go to any lengths to take care of them. That is Snotlout to a T.
Cubcachoo: The easy and simple reason I chose Cubcachoo for Snotlout is that it is snotty. The longer and more complex reason is that it is to represent his softer side. Hookfang loved watching baby dragons, and Snotlout over time comes to care about eggs/young dragons just as much. I could see Turtonator (Hookfang in this) and Snotlout coming across a little baby Cubcachoo some night. Snotlout thinks it has a bad cold, and decides to take it back with them to help get better. Then by the time Hiccup or Fishlegs can tell him " It's not sick, that is how Cubcachoo is supposed to look"... Well Snotlout and his team have already bonded with the little Cubcachoo so it has to stay.
Centiskorch: This represents the Fireworms/Fireworm Queen and the close bond Snotlout and Hookfang have with a colony of that particular type of dragon in both DOB and RTTE.
Buffalant: Both Snotlout and Buffalant are brawny creatures that like to charge head first at opponents, so Buffalant fits him that regard. Also in one of the cartoons a script writer references this really dumb former nickelodeon show twice, by having Snotlout name one of his family's yak's Yakidy, and Yakidy being his favorite Yak. I looked up "Yak pokemon" and Buffalant came up as the closest thing.
Tarountula: This one is meant to be Snotlout's relationship with his parents. RTTE lists sewing as a special skill of Snotlout's. He says his mom taught how, and since he writes to his mom frequently he will probably brag to her about using that skill to make armor for the dragons. Tarountula also evolves into Spidos, a trap making/laying spider pokemon. Trap design and execution is a special skill of Spitelout's that Snotlout admires. I imagine that Spitelout would have a Spidos and try to push his son to hurry up and evolve Traountula. But according to comics Snotlout is actually has a touch of arachnophobia. I think he would be okay with Traountula since its body is mostly a cute little ball of twine. but Spidos is maybe a little to scary. So Snotlout would be torn between wanting to evolve his pokemon to get better at trapping and make his dad proud, and also maybe not wanting his little buddy to change how it is now.
Fishlegs Ingerman
Haxorus: This is Meatlug. Haxorus are definitely tougher than gronkles, but they have territorial yet friendly temperaments and eat minerals, which is gronkle like
Dubwool: Dubwool is strong, round, and soft, just like fishlegs
Oranguru: In their group if Hiccup is the one with wisdom and strategy expertise, then Fishlegs has the book smart intelligence and research skills. I would say that Oranguru is a really good pokemon to represent that, and it would make a great member of Fishlegs team. Both Oranguru and Fishlegs are very intelligent and kinda sage like
Donphan & Gravelor: Fishlegs loves everything to with the boulder class. In pokemon that could translate into either the ground type or the rock type. So to cover my bases I made sure to give Fishlegs one of each. I picked Donphan and Gravelor because both of them are pretty easy going, but fight by tackling and rolling. THis mirrors the exact strategies Fishlegs taught to Meatlug and other boulder class dragons
Togetic: Fishlegs at his core is just a softhearted guy who wants to live in harmony. He is exactly the kind of person who a Togetic would bond with and want as a trainer
Ruffnut Thorston
Zweilous: The two headed hydra. Shared with Tuffnut. I would have loved to fully evolved it up into Hydreigon, but Barf & Belch only have two heads not three, so I had to leave it in its mid-stage evolution
Gyarados: This is in part my apology to Ruffnut for not making Zewilous fully evolved. The second part is to represent Scauldy, a scauldraon Ruffnut bonds with and trains in DOB. Normally not even Hiccup could train a scauldraon, but Ruffnut's fish smelling hair reminded Scauldy of his home, and Ruffnut was able to use that to do what Hicccup couldn't. According to the HTTYD game Ruffnut and Scauldy remained friends even after that episode and Ruffnut still see's him when he swims through Berk's area.
Stuntank: As mentioned above Ruffnut shows time and time again that she really likes strong and pungent smells. So it only makes sens e that she would want/love owning a skunk pokemon
Machoke: Girl has the most extensive list of suitors pursuing her out of any character, and she does not always enjoy this. Anybody seen that meme of the girl walking out of a building, some guy seeing her and deciding to go after her, only to be held back by another guy, who's a friend of the girls and is looking at him like "Nope not today". Yeah Ruffnut has Machoke to be that friend, and make her suitors leave her alone when she is not up for dealing with them.
Purrloin: Ruffnut and Purrlion are a accomplished theiving partnership. They have stolen much from their enemies, and sometimes from their fellow riders
Chatot: This one helps Ruffnut talk her way out of situations. Usually they both just annoy people until they are ready to confess anything or just run away from their noise.
Tuffnut Thorston
Zweilous: The two headed hydra. Shared with Ruffnut. I would have loved to fully evolved it up into Hydreigon, but Barf & Belch only have two heads not three, so I had to leave it in its mid-stage evolution
Flechinder: It is completely unfair of me to add a pokemon to represent Scauldy and then not add one for Torch. Flechinder's line has large wings that can scatter embers when in fly's, so it is the closest pokemon I could find. I am keeping it mid evolution because it does not seem fair to make Torch a higher level than Belch.
Grimsnarl: Here s my apology to Tuffnut for not making Zweilous fully evolved. Grimsnarl is a 3rd evolution trickster pokemon, very Loki. It also loves to wrestle/fight with Machamp, so we have Ruff an Touff's rivalry representation, to go with Zweilous representing their closeness
Ferrothorn: It's a mace pokemon and maces are Tuffnut's weapon of choice
Torchick: To represent Tuffnut's famous pet chicken: Chicken. I do not care if Tuffnut marries or not in the future. Let our boy be Berk's egg man and chicken breeder.
Piloswine: Boar wrestling in the boar pit. Pignite was out because then Tuff would have 3 fire types ( Tuff might like that but Hiccup does not have time to put out that many fires). Piloswine is tough, adds to new types to Tuff's team, and looks the most like the viking's era boars.
Now the Next 3 characters are cartoon exclusives. If you have no interest in the cartoons then stop here and thank you for looking at my post
Dagur the Deranged
Dracovish: So Dracovish is probably Dagur's 6th pokemon, but I am putting first in line with the order I did for previous characters. Dagur had two dragons in RTTE: Shattermaster and Sleuther. I gave him Dracovish because I feel like it can embody both Shattermaster's silliness and Sleuther's ferocity
Annhilape: Take its power level, its rage, and its skills with its fists Annhilape is truly Beserker pokemon worthy of a chief
Dewott: So I really wanted to have one of Dagur's pokemon connect to one of Hiccups given their relationship and the evolution of why Dagur calls Hiccup "Brother". But most of Hiccup's pokemon were already connected to Astrid or Viggo. But then I remembered that Cyndiqual's line is also a Hisuin Starter, along with Rowlett and Oshowatt. Hiccup has a Quilava so I decided to give Dagur Dewott. Dewott trains hard, is skilled with weapons, and it has a type advantage against Quilava. This is to represent how when they were at war with each other Dagur seemed to have every physical advantage against Hiccup, and Hiccup could only take him down by being very clever.
Krandos: It is a hardheaded, headstrong, offense style dinosaur pokemon. its a counterpart to his sister Heather's Sheildon.
Nuzleaf: This one represents the start of Dagur's redemption/change. Because on one hand Nuzleaf is a scary dark type pokemon that plays ominous music meant to create feelings of unease and fright in people. But on the other hand this is also a cool little grass type pokemon that knows few nice melodies that can be played to comfort people it likes.
Meditie: This would be the fifth one Dagur caught (Remember Dracovish would actually be his finale team mate) When Dagur turns up again after months adrift now in control of his temper and at peace, he is shown to have taken up meditation as a forum of self-care. I am going to say that this Meditie taught Dagur meditation. Dagur caught it afterwards, and now they do it together back on Beserker Island.
Heather the Unhinged
Kommo-o: Kommo-o is representative of Windshier. The typing fights, as does the sharp class passing design. The fact that like Windsheir and Heather Kommo-o is a drifter who likes to stay on the fringes of groups. All of this makes Kommo-o the perfect choice for Windshier
Scizor: A branch evolution to Astrid's Kleavor; Representative of the close friendship the pair have. I imagine they would battle with these two a lot during training/while Heather is undercover, and probably do double battles when Heather is living as part of the rider team
Dartrix: Hey now if I gave Dagur a Dewott because to go with Hiccup's Quailave, then it is only fair that I complete the triad by giving Heather a Dartix. This ends working out the 3's dynamic pretty well: Dagur has the type advantage over Hiccup, so Hiccup has to out strategy Dagur if he hopes to beat Dagur. Hiccup has the type advantage over Heather. Heather is a trickster by nature, but Hiccup can always figure her tricks out. Heather has they type advantage against Dagur. Heather is the chink to Dagur's armor. When she allied with the Hiccup and the Dragon Riders Dagur gave up his war against them
Sheildon: Because Heather is a very guarded person, an the more defensive Beserker when compared to her more hurtle-forward-head-first brother.
Keleon: Heather is a very sneaky person who likes to go undercover and steal information. Keleon helps her listen in on that information or swipe plans from the other side.
Galarian Meowth: Galarian Meowth and its evolution Persurker are meant to be Berserker versions of Meowth and Persion. Heather's gets one when she moves back to Berserker Island to live with Dagur and learn more about her birth culture.
Viggo Grimborn
Kingdra: Its the rival and opposite Pokemon to Dragonite (Toothless) and represents how Viggo was the "Mirror Villain" of Hiccup and Toothless. Also some of Viggo's best plans involve water dragons such as "the Submaripper" and "The Shellfire"
Galarian Weezing: Viggo's primary weapons are all laced with Dragon root, a plant poisonous to dragons. Since Fairy types have a type advantage against dragon types, I wanted to give Viggo a dual poison/fairy type pokemon. Galarian Weezing was the pokemon I foudn with that typing.
Croviknight: Well firstly I needed a really intelligent pokemon that was not Slowking or Noctowl. Croviknight is dark, brilliant, and resourceful. Viggo was a genius, who had more tools than Hiccup and basically started a war with him because he was happy to have clever opponent to battle against. Croviknight is also preyed on by Tinkaton. Hiccup's Tinkatuff is one evolution away from being a Tinkaton. Viggio knew very well that Hiccup would surpass him one day, and wanted to end Hiccup before that day came
Golurk, Bisharp & Pawinards: These three are represent a rook, a bishop, and a pawn. Three chess pieces. Viggo is a big fan of a board game called Masses and Talons, which is basically this worlds version of chess. His favorite way to send invitations was by leaving broken or marching game pieces for his enemy to find
Head cannons I have about various characters from the original Hunger Games Trilogy
Cato had a single parent and a twin sister. His other parent had died of an long term illness that left his family in large dept. There was talk of his parent having to become Peacekeepers to pay their debt. But peacekeepers are never allowed to stay in their home district, or to contact their families in other districts. So Cato volunteered for the games hoping to be the victor, pay the debts with tribute earnings, and keep his family together.
Clove's parents died in an accident when she was pretty young, and she was raised by her Aunt&Uncle. One of her cousins likes to plan parties/events. When the "Two victors can win if they're from the same district" rule change was announced this cousin looked up Cato's sister and asked her for help planing a party for Cato&Clove 2hen they both returned home. The party was changed to being a double wake/funeral when they died. Cato's sister and Clove's cousin stay friends due to needing someone else who understood understands their grief/loss
Foxface lived in a group home and was a ward of her district. The reason she was so good at sneaking around and stealing was that she did it at home when her tesserac's did not stretch enough. She did not have a legal family, but was really close with 2-3 other kids living at the home. She had promised them that they could move to victor village with her if she won. The district still let them stand on her "reserved for family" spot in district 5 along with the group home staff, when Peeta and Katniss came through district 5.
Rue and Thresh name drawings were both rigged. Rue because someone important (Head peace keeper/Mayor) had discovered that she stole food from the orchard to feed her friends and siblings, and decided to make an example of her. Thresh because he scared some of the district 11 peacekeepers.
I like a theory some one said once said that Cashmere and Gloss were both sent into the 75th games, not for being rebels, but because they stayed close to each other even after two games and Cashmere being forced into prostitution. Snow was mad that their bond lasted through something that his and Tigress's could not.
Cecilia's three kids were dropped at the home of some trusted friends of her's post her name being drawn, with specific instruction to keep them from watching the games until after she had died.
Post the War
Annie names her son Nickolas Fisher Odair.. as more subtle nods to both Finnick and Mags
Katniss and Peeta both live under district arrest for killing members of district 13's rebel forces during the war. Haymitch and Annie both want nothing to do with either side and are left alone because of their mental states. Beetee, Johanna, and Enobaria agree to take part in the rebuilding of Panem/the government.
Johanna and Enobaria have always famously hated each other, but kinda get along in a "we can acknowledge that we are both trapped in the same boat and might as well be allies at this point" post war.
I am not sure if I really see Johanna ever becoming a parent. If she does it would not be until years and years after the war, and only if she learns to come out of her fight to survive/ survive to fight mode. But I kinda like to imagine her maybe going to a feritlity clinic and doing artificial insemination (With how many died in the war it would make sense for Panem to push this, Maybe grant stimulant child support checks to parents/families that are successful) getting pregnant and then teasing Katniss over the phone that she will name her child after her.
Katniss hates how many kids are being named "Jay" or "Rebel" or "Fire", "Spark" or Katniss, She Johanna under no circumstance is she do that. After nine moths Johanna gives birth to a boy whom she names "Hunter".
Beetee probably stays in either district 13 or he moves to the capital. He lives in whatever the heart of the country is. He is the head scientist/inventor in the country. He probably goes back to district 3 semi regularly to give lectures/teach collage classes, but he does not stay. I also think he becomes an author. At First it is just science and engineering books. But he also write manuscripts for Tell All's about the things both the Capital and the Rebels made him invent, the loses he faced :Ampert, his wife, and second child, and the dark ways his inventions where used. He plans to release those to print when he is retired, as a warning to any whom Panem uses after him
Gale takes his entire family with him to 2. The Hawthornes are one of the only families where all the immediate members made it through the war and and they are not losing each other. HE and Hazelle also really want to get the kids back up to the sun and away from any of the traumatic memories of their last year of suffering in 12. When they get to 2 Hazelle picks up jobs cooking and making/fixing cloths for people. Gale gets a pretty high up military job "moping up" peacekeeprs/capital loyaltists, so that he can earn decent pay and benifits for his family. He keeps this job for a couple years and moves up in it. One day a mission goes haywire, a trap of the enemies gets triggered and the explosion and crossfire puts Gale once again in the military hospital. This time he is informed that while he will live and recover from most of it, one of his eyes was badly injured from shrapnel hitting it and was removed.
After this Hazelle is able to convince Gale to leave his current job. She tells him how his siblings are as scared over him always leaving to go fight/coming home hurt as they were of things in 12 , and that after this if he doesn't look for another job she is packing the kids up and they all 4 leaving. She would rather be broke again than cause the kids to keep reliving all of this.
After that Gale uses high up connections (Paylor, Plutarch, Beetee etc) to get honnerable discharge from the military police and starts working on the rebuild and restoration of Panem. Its less money, but the Hawthorne's are able to keep their 3 bed room 2 bathroom house and their government paid benefits. Gale is able to move up in this position too. Best of all no he has non living, more constructive, channels for his fire and anger over Panem's suffering. This helps a lot. After a while he meets Cato's twin sister, I will call her Cleo. They find the other cute, fit, discover they both love to train with weapons and camp outdoors. Through them Bristol (moved to 2 as well, and is now Gale's best friend) and Charmian (Clove's cousin) meet and start dating too. When things get serious Gale tells Cleo that he is helping raise his siblings and introduces them. Cleo lost her whole family in the war, and is happy to be a part of Gale's.
About 8 years post war Gale and Cleo have a daughter. She has Seem looks and is shows the same protective and outspoken spirit Gale did. 3 years after they have twins who remind Cleo so much of her in Cato, except they grow up in a safer world.
Rory Hawthorne has pretty heavy nearsightedness, which is why Gale never taught him to hunt. He is also the smartest of the Hawthorne siblings. Back in 12 Prim would always let Rory copy her notes since he had trouble seeing the board (Town kids usually grabbed all the front seats and Seam kids usually sat in the back of class). In return Rory would tutor Prim in any subject she had trouble with. In 13 Rory is able to see an eye doctor, and finally gets tested and fitted for a pair of glasses. When he gets older Gale is able to use connections from Beetee to get Rory a scholarship to college in district 3 and Rory becomes a tech engineer. He also marries and has 2 kids. Both of whom have district 3 esque names
Vick unfortunately struggles with tramua's and his mental state post war. He does not talk much and will sometimes blank on the present: forgets that he lives in district 2 now and will ask to go to/try to walk to places in 12. He skips meals and does not say anything when his cloths get torn/out grown because of money issues that his family no longer have. When he finishes high school he takes a risky mining job, because that is what he always thought his life would amount to anyway. Just like his father he eventually dies in an accident when his child is around 6. Hazelle moves in to help her daughter in law raise the child. The kid also starts getting a bunch invitations to do things with his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, particularly with Gale and Cleo's brood who still live in 2
Posy grows up in district 2 and eventually forgets everything about her life before her family settled there. When she learns about the war in school she makes her family tell her stories about what things were like in district 12. Their stores are all very bittersweet, but they cause Posy to get pretty interested in the rebuilding of district 12. When she grows up she does 3 things. 1.) dates women. 2.) Uses the natural size and strength that her family possess to become a P.E./fitness teacher. 3,) Is the only one of her family to ever move back to district 12, where she and her girlfriend both get teaching jobs in Posy's old town. Both Toast kids have Posy as a P.E. teacher. They love her class. Posy does not remember Katniss at all, and while Katniss remembers who Posy is she cannot equate this tall, muscled, and healthy women with the tiny, sickly, malnourished, toddler she used to help take care of. This means that their is never any drama between the two women. If Posy sees Katniss she just remarks t her about how great her children do in gym class and that they could make for fine athletes. Katniss will smile and thank her for the flattery.
Speaking of the toast babies.
I head cannon that the 5-10-15 years line means that it took 5 years for Katniss and Peeta to heal up enough an for their relationship to grow enough naturally that they started discussing getting married and potentially having kids. It took 10 years for them to feel like the world was safe enough to try for a child and have their daughter. Then it took another 5, so 15 years total, for them to have their son.
I will head cannon that their daughter loves dance, animals, refuses to hunt, but will help her mother gather plants as she inherited her maternal families skills with plants and healing. She knew Haymitch as a baby/toddler. When he died she started taking care of his geese which is where her love for animals (and her refusal to hunt) came from.
I do not care what her first name is, but I will head cannon that her middle name is "Duck" because that was Katniss's affectionate nickname for Prim.
With their son I am going to say that Haymitch died of liver failure while Katniss was pregnant. So Hymitch never got to meet him. Haymitch did know about him, and was happy that Katniss, Peeta, and the kids would be okay when he died. Katniss and Peeta had told Haymitch their choice for a first name, and that they could make the middle name after him, but Haymitch told them to name the child after Sid. As a compromise their son's middle name is "Abernathy" for both Haymitch and Sid.
Toast boy does hunt/use a bow in arrow just like his mom. He is also as creative and artistic as his dad. Great Aunt Effie gets him into fashion, and he develops an interest in designing and making cloths.
Peeta reopens his families bakery in Disctirct 12. He hires a few people who return to disrict 12 as helpers. A food pantary and pharmacy get built as pat of the restoration. Kantiss will gather medical plants for the pharmacy and trade/donate game to the pantry.
Delly finishes school in District 13 but when she graduates she moves back to district 12. She eventually get married to Thom. They, their kids, as well as Greasy Sae plus her grand daughter are Kantiss and Peeta's friends post war. I doubt either Katniss or Peeta are that social afterwards, but I think they would have at least these friends.
Both toast kids plan to move out of District 12 for college once they become adults. The girl wants to go to either districts 1 or 10 depending on if she decides to become a professional dancer or a vet. The boy wants to become a clothing designer in either district 1 or the capital. This scared Katniss and Peeta, but they come to accept that these are their children's dreams, so once their kids become adults Katniss and Peeta will have to prove to the world that they are once again sane, and start leaving their hiding place in district 12 to visit their children as adults.
What if the Xiaolin Showdown characters were Pokemon Trainers
Alright we go. As a kid I loved pokemon, and I loved Xiaolin Showdown (honestly a little more than pokemon. Xiaolin Showdown was me and my brother's favorite show for years). I got back into pokemon a couple years ago. Now for fun I like to go back rewatch a bunch of other old cartoons I used to love when I was younger, and then I make and post pokemon teams that I think characters would have, based on what their character is like. I tried to do the Xiaolin monks a while back, but I could not really get the teams right so I ultimately shelved this cartoon for a later project. Well later is now. I nixed the idea that their teams should all be their element, got a little more creative, and now i was able to come up with teams that I feel are very fitting to the characters
Before I unvail the teams here are the rules I gave myself
1.) Keep the teams balanced: At is core Xiaolin showdown was about the harmony and team dynamics between the four young elemental warriors. Yes Omi is the show's main protagonist. Yes Omi and Raimundo both have more character development than Kimiko and Clay. But neither of those ever meant that Omi or Raimundo were more important or that Kimiko and Clay were less of hero's. So with that in mind I tried to keep the teams as equal as I could.
2.) Main characters: The monks and Jack Spicer all got full teams of six. Wuya, Chase Young, and Hannible Roy bean are "seasonal villains" all got three. I purposefully gave them stronger pokemon though to keep them seeming threatening
3.) I went with a 2-2-1 formulaI for the mains. The characters all train and battle and frequently, so they will all get two fighting type pokemon. Next while not all their pokemon have to match their element at least 2 need to be (Jack's element is metal, which would be steel pokemon). Finally I am giving everybody one pokemon capable of mega evolution... Okay for real I do not think any of the main characters would mega evolve a pokemon. But two pokemon with that ability were must haves for two characters, so then everyone had to get a pokemon with that ability
4.) No dragon type pokemon: On my first go I really wanted to give each monk a duel dragon and their element type pokemon. But with a limited number of dragon types, differences in number of evolutions, Kingdra not becoming a dragon type until its final evoultion, and my own refusal to give Raimundo multiple mega's this made it impossible to keep the teams balanced. So in the end nobody got dragons types. The monks are dragons, not their pokemon
Now Onward to the teams
Kimiko Tohomiko: Xiaolin Dragon of Fire
Kimiko and her pokemon are on a mission to bring style to the xiaolin monk lifestyle
Mienfoo: Mienfoo is short, cute, and has a spitfire temper. In other words all its missing is a secondary fire typing and it would be the pokemon equivalent of Kimiko. Meinfoo and Kimiko can work together to channel their tempers into motivation to reach their goals as warriors
Medicham: Once again Kimiko is most temperamental of the group. Her arc throughout the show not about getting rid of her temper, but learning to focus it into her training instead of letting it get the better of her. Medicham and Kimiko can train together on improving and maintaining focus. Having both Mienfoo and Medicham as partners can also help Kimiko work on balancing herself internally
Baile Style Oricorio: Here is my first pick for a fire type for Kimiko. I chose it for its passionate nature as well as the beauty and grace it brings to flames. Plus it sorta matches Kimik's wudai weapon from season 3
Ninetales: Just like Oricorio Ninetales is a very pretty fire type pokemon. Just like Kimiko Ninetales is very smart and has Japanese origins. All these ttraits make it a great pick for Kimiko
Porygon: Hacking was one of Kimiko's special talents. Throughout the show she was the one who found info on various villains online, she knew how to get into any database, and she used cyberspace to beat some villain at least once a season. I will give Porygon to help her with all of that.
Furfru: fashion was another one of Kimiko's special talents. She changed outfits and hairstyles every time she went out with her friends. She has Furfru so that when she is done styling herself she can style Furfru to match
Clay Bailey: Xiaolin Dragon of Earth
Many of Clay's pokemon were Chosen based on his knowledge and skills with livestock
Pignite: Clay's first fighting type pokemon. It is based off a wrestler, which was a fighting method I remember Clay was good at. Also it was cannon that one way he got so strong was that he grew up wrestiling with his families pigs back home on their ranch
Paldean Tauros (combat bread): Clay's second fighitng type, also another livestock pokemon. Clay could wrangle and ride bulls in the cartoon, and when angered he would get into a stance like a bulls and charge at his opponents (who all diserved what they got for pushing this sweet boy to far), which suggests he modles at least part of his battle technique off bulls
Mudbray: Clay's first ground type. A pokemon that is stubborn, willing to get down into the dirt and work. A pokemon that has immense strength and can carry heavy loads with ease. A pokemon that has much in common with Clay.
Steelix: Clay's second ground type and his mega capable pokemon. Steelix is a snake, which Clay likely encountered many times growing up in the western outback of Texas, and I do think it would be a useful pokemon for when the monks occasionally venture underground
Tangela: Clay's special talent in the show (besides than wood carving) was lassoing and rope tricks. He and that rope saved lives on more than one ocasion. Tangela is a pokemon that can do rope tricks with its vines. Tangela and Clay will work together to pull anyone in danger to safetly and make many impressive saves.
Herdier: i Chose Herdier for Clay's last pokemon because it is known to be exceptional loyal, hard working, and love to help take care of other creatures. It is the perfect companion for a cowboy
Omi: Xiaolin Dragon of Water
I want everyone to know that shape was a key factor in choosing pokemon for Omi's team.
Sawk & Throh: Omi's two fighting types. Sawk is a solitary student. Throh train and travel in groups. Together they both capture Omi's internal struggle: Omi lived his whole life at the temple. He always knew he was destined to become the dragon of the water. He imagined being this great, undefeated, solo hero. When the other three monks arrived Omi assumed they his students, and very quickly grew to love teaching them. Finally Master Fung told him "They are your equal teammates. They are destined to be elemental dragons too". Omi's friends were his world. He was happy to help them with anything, sad/worried when the group argued, and knew that factually being with his team made him stronger. But he still had trouble letting go of his imagined future as a great and solo hero. He still loves doing things on his own, and he struggled at times to accept help from his friends.
Spheal: Here is Omi's first elemental pokemon. I picked Spheal because like Omi it is small, round, adorable, and has the potential to grow up into a powerful opponent.
Glalie: So unlike in avatar Kimiko never learned to bend lightning, Clay never learned to bend metal, and Rai cannot bend chi. But Omi could bend both water and Ice. Omi's ice skills were honestly insane. Like if he were not on the side of good, and it did not violate his morals he could have skewered his enemies like Kabobs (war flashbacks of Heylin Omi). There was no way I could avoid giving Omi a super powerful ice type pokemon, and who else could that be but Glalie? Plus it has a very large, round, head
Iron Bundle: Okay Iron Bundle is where Omi does get a bit of special treatment for being the show's main protagonist. I decided that Omi needed to have a paradox pokemon since he time traveled once a season (was time travel meant to be his special talent?). Iron bundle was the one I went with as its typing fit his element, and I figured it could help him carry back whatever souvenir he brought with him at the time
Dartrix: Dartrix at first glance looks like it might belong better on Raimundo's team, but first glances can be deceiving. Dartrix demands a high level of diligence from its trainer, and Omi was always the most diligent of the four monks. It is famous for its tiger instincts, but is also kinda narcissistic in nature. Omi could be the same way at times. Getting a handle on Dartrix as its trainer would challenge Omi and could potentially help him get a handle on his own ego.
Raimundo Pedrosa: Xiaolin Dragon of Wind
A lighthearted breeze on the surface. A powerful storm beneath
Hawlucha: Both Raimundo's first fighting type and his first flying type. Like Raimundo Hawlucha is a showoff who can be exploited at times. But it also is skilled at using its aerial abilities to its advantage allowing it to take down larger foes. Rai also learns to do this as he masters his element.
Kubfu: Kubfu is Raimundo's second fighting type. I picked it partially because in cannon he Raimndo still has attachment/gets comfort from his favorite Teddy bear (which there is nothing wrong with), but mostly because Kubfu is known to use defeats it suffers motivations to get stronger. Most of Rai's best development epsidoes involve him learning and improving from previous failures and mistakes
Braviary: Raimundo's second flying pokemon. Braviary fights for the sake of friends, and for them will not stop even when injured. As we see in season 3 Raimundo tends to put his friends on a pedestal and he does not always believe he deserves to be a part of their team. But he wants to be with them more than anything and is willing to train and fight with everything he has to keep them.
Absol: So no surprises here, right? All four monks at one point turn to the darkside. Three of them had their self control taken away, and were never portrayed as at fault. Raimundo was the exception. He willingly betrayed the group, changed sides, and caused the shows first "the end of the world" during a temper tantrum over failing a mission that his friends all passed. Like a kid throwing a tantrum Raimundo eventually wore himself out, calmed down, and realized this did not have to be "the end of the world". Rai cleaned up his mess and kept working to his goal. But everyone knew how far had taken one set back, and the memory negatively affected others perception of him. For the rest of the show Raimundo had to work twice as hard to prove himself a hero. If Kubfu helps him with his fears, and Braviery helps him remember what is really important to him, then I will give him Absol to help him remember that he is neither his mistakes nor other peoples harsh words.
Alolan Richu: Surfing was a special skill of Raimundo's. It's one I will consider a little more central to his character than his love of soccer. Aloan Richu is pokemon's sole surfer pokemon.
Dewott: Hey look Omi got a pokemon with Rai's elemental typing and now Rai is getting one with Omi's. Why is Dewott on Raimundo's team and not Omi's? Well firstly according to the pokedex Dewott is a pokemon that a lot of Samurai take inspiration from. Secondly Dewott is known as the discipline pokemon. Rai's initial lack of self discipline was a big weakness of his character that he had to work hard to overcome
Now for the heylin fighters
Jack Spicer: robotics expert and self proclaimed "Evil Boy Genius"
Jack fans rest assured I would never give our awesome boy a team that was not awesome as well
Passimian: Jack Spicer's first fighting pokemon. The monkey staff was Jack's favorite Shen gong wu. Jack could very effectively fight as and lead an army of Monkeys. So this big and strong, jungle warrior, primate had to be on Jack's team.
Falinks: Jack's second fighting type and his first steal type. It design makes it looks like a line of little toy robots, and Jack loved to build and play with toy battle bots.
Veravroom: Jack's second steal pokemon. Combine Jack's creativity in robots with that of this automobile building engine pokemon. Just imagine the vehicles they could make and take out together
Kangascan: Jack is shown to have such tremendous respect and admiration for mothers. His own mother and grandmother are constantly referenced as being the two people he cares for the most. His love for the older female figure in his life could arguably be why he keeps forgiving Wuya for replacing him with every other villain they come across, and why he keeps trying to have a better relationship with her. If he can see even Wuya positively then I have no doubt that he would love and revere this devoted mama of a pokemon
Koffing: Koffing is one of the three pollution pokemon (Koffing, Grimer, Trubish), and the skull and cross bone design on its front would probably make Koffing the one Jack would like best. I wanted to give Jack one of the three because ultimately the most evil thing about Jack is that he has very toxic role models: Wuya, Chase Young, and Hannibal Roy Bean
Malamar: So this was chosen first and foremost because out of all pokemon to me this one best fits jacks "evil goth" aesthetic. Add on that it is a dark type (jack should have at least one dark type), famously manipulative, and is apparently smart enough to operate human devices. Malamar is a perfect pokemon for Spicer
Wuya; 1500 year old Heylin witch
1 trainer, 3 pokemon, together they total 3 ghosts and 2 witches
Galarian Yamask: So the end of season 1 revealed that ghost hag wuya's face is a mask that Heylin Witch Wuya owns. ...??? This automatically drew me to having Yanmask be one of Wuya's pokemon. I went with Galarian Yamask because it has a secondary gound typing, which I wanted to pay reference to full power Wuya's rock warriors (unfortunately there is not yet a ghost/rock type pokemon). Now Galarian Yamasks's tablet has a drawing on it instead of a mask of its former face. But honestly Wuya's mask looks way more like a drawing than her real face anyway, so its all good. Maybe her Yamask drawing is meant to be of the serpents tail, since that is a shen gong wu she needs to be restored.
Lampent: Wuya even in her ghostly hag form was a threat because she knew so much about the Shen Gong Wu, and she came up with such evil ideas on how to use them. So you know how sometimes in cartoons when a character gets a really big idea a lightbulb will appear over their heads? Here is a ghostly light, with a creepy blue flame, to appear over the heads of Wuya or her allies whenever they are cooking up truly evil schemes.
Hatterene: Like Wuya in her solid flesh form Hatterene is a crazy witch, with a tall and slim figure and long waves of hair. Its appearence isn't the only reason I chose hatterene for Wuya. Hatterene is also the only pokemon on this list capable of gigamaxing. I will give Wuya gigmaxing as my gift to her. But my stipulation is that she needs her full powers to be able to use it. At less than full power Wuya and Hatterene are just ordinary fierce opponents
Chase Young: former Xiaolin Master, now The Prince Of Darkness
Extra-extra crazy cat man caught masquerading as polished and refined evil
Polteageist: Its a kettle/pot. You can use those to brew tea, but you can also sometimes use them to make a nice bowl of soup for yourself. Chase Young's villain origin was literally that he used to be a warrior for good, then he drank some evil soup that turned him into an evil, immortal, reptilian monster (show's from the early 2000's). Evil soup drinking pokemon trainer. Sinister kettle/pot pokemon. Makes perfect sense to me.
Purserkier: When Chase met a warrior he thought was particularly strong he challenged them to a battle where if they lost they had to serve him, and he would then turn them into jungle cats. I am not going to take his cats away from them (he did win those battles), but I will say that if he could have pokemon as well as the warriors, he would still be drawn to feline pokemon. I could give him a Piroar or an Incineroar since he has a lot of lions and tigers. But remembering that his minions are warriors as well as cats I am going with Purserkier. It is based of some of history's most deadly vikings, and I feel like if Chase ever met berserker vikings he would have wanted one in his collection
Chien-Pao: One of the treasures of ruin. I do not usually give legendary pokemon on my lists. Usually I would consider them to powerful for your average protag/antag. But once again Chase Young has been the prince of darkness for 1500 years, and there are so many things about Chien-Pao that fit Chase. The feline designe. The lore of it being given life from the hatred of those who were slain under its blades. Lastly it being an ice type connects Chase back to Omi. Chase was after all the one who brought Omi's ice powers to his strongest/most deadly.
Hannibal Roy Bean: ...Evil Bean
Local talking seed will give you a headache at best and cause you to lose all sense of morality or good at worst
Manibuzz: He must really like birds given how he always rides everywhere on Ying-ying, uses her to spy, and sleeps in he nest. If I let Chase have both his jungle cats and pokemon cats, then its only fair that Bean-breath here keeps Ying-ying while also getting a bird pokemon. There are a lot of mean ones to pick from. I decided to go with Manibuzz because it is a counterpart pokemon to Raimundo's Braviary, and the show did try to establish a hero/villain rivalry between the two.
Musharna: One of Hannibal's favorite ways to try and take down the monks was to get inside one of their dreams/heads and manipulate their thoughts. Musharna's abilities to effect dreams would make it very helpful to him.
Wo-Chien: Just like with Chase Young I will give this immortal pillar of evil a treasure of ruin. Wo-chien is the one who fits him both. Its is historic, its looks like a small creature supersized, it holds grudges. It's perfect for this rotten demon bean.
What if the Digidestends had Pokemon Partners Instead
I have seen this done a few times and I decided to take a crack at doing it myself, for fun. A few things to note before I show my picks.
A lot of the times I see people do this they just give the Digidestined the pokemon that looks the most like their digimon. Example Tai gets Charmander because it's an orange fire-breathing dinosaur, just like Augumon. I chose not to that because one it felt less fun, and two I don't ever remember the digimons looks being that important. They famously get near complete/complete makeovers when digivolving. Instead I am mostly picking pokemon based off the crests (virtues) each digidestiend represented and what the I think was the trait that their digimon possessed that caused the digidestend to most need this digimon.
I am limiting my choices to just starter pokemon. Those are the pokemon that usually became partners to trainers in the way that digimon did, have stronger evolution, and it helped narrow my choices down from 1k+ to like 30.
For this list let's pretend that Pokemon can evolve forwards and backwords just like Digimon
I grew up watching the 1990's -200's Digimon Adventures season 1&2, so that is the area of the show i am basing this off. I am aware that the show has done revivals since then with most of these characters, and probably did change them up some, but I am generally unfirmilar with those changes and am sticking to the era I know,
Oblitoury comment that these are my opinons and if you disagree or feel like another starter would work better for a certain character, (or if you could think of 1-5 other pokemon that should also be on their team) then please tell me who or why in the comments. I picked based on starter groups, but that is not a required rule for anyone else who wants to play
The Galar Trio and these three go together gloves and hands
(well would you look at that. I decide against the fire dino just to give him a fire bunny)
Tai represents the crest of courage. He is the brave leader of the season 1. He is the first to battle and really is the first to take protecting the digiworld to heart. He was reckless and would charge into battle with less of a plan than an idea, but he could think fast on his feat and kept with a mission until he completed. I had to give him a pokemon that could match his energy, and would be just as brave and raring to go as he was. Who else would that be but Scorbunny. Plus Scorbunny is always kicking its feet, and in their downtime would make a great soccermate for Tai.
Matt's crest was friendship and he really did go hard in trying to look out for and take care of his friends. His temper would come into play when he struggled with being unable to help someone or feelings that he as failing them. One of his big struggles was that his baby brother T.K. is growing up and won't always need him as much as he once did. Maybe giving Matt a more needy pokemon will satisfy some of his need to fuss over someone, and take some of the tension out of his friendships. Secondly I fully do expect Matt's temper bursts to scare his Sobble enough to make it cry at times. But then Matt would start crying to because of the effect Sobble's tears have on those close by. Matt crying in the anime was shown to not be a bad thing. Tears were a stage he needed to get to before he would stop lashing out at whoever was in front of him (usually Tai), voice what was actually wrong, and let his friends help/reassure him. So go ahead and cry more Matt. Sobble's evolution line goes from timmid and scared, to depressed and questioning everything, to cool and confident. It is a mess. Matt is also a mess, and cycles through all of that as well. Utlametly Matt and Sobble would be the pair that could best empathize with the mess that the other is and help them through it.
Sora Takenouchi's perfect pokemon partner is... Grookey
Sora is a tomboy who is head strong, loves to play sports, and also loves the care and arangement of flowers. Grookey's line is built in a way that it could be a partner to her in both soccer and tennis, and has abilites to help flowers bloom and stay healthy. All this is great for Sora. Sora is also the mom friend of the group, possesses a maturity that the others do not yet, and she gets a lot of confidence in being able to help and take care of her loved ones. Grookey is like a little kid in that it is very hyeractive and loves to get into things. It would need a trainer who is mature, patient, and caring to help it grow. Sora is all of that and I know that Grookey and her would be able to work practically together, be great friends, and have a lot of fun adventures with.
(Side note I originally had her and Matt's partners switched because Grookey loves music and Sora could be Sobble's mom. But then I figured that Sora is a lot better at dealing with over stimulation of Grookey than Matt, and that Matt maybe has a better grasp than Sora that sadness is a feeling itself and not a failure to be happy. I do find it cool though that Sobble and Grookey could work for both of them. They will one day all be a family after all)
The Kalos trio is just right for these three Digidestines
Okay Fennekin just might be the cutest pokemon in the fire line. It's super feminine, as is Mimi. Mimi would love brushing its fur, dressing it up, and watching movies with it at night with bowls of snacks in front of both of them. I bet you anything she would buy a large purse that she could carry Fennekin around in. But for real along with it being one of the more girly designed pokemon and all the fun possibilites with showcases and dress up, Fenniken has strong fire power and a temper you don't want to agitate. This matches pretty well with Mimi's famous direct straightforwardness that originally made her so endeering for fans. Mimi and Fennekin together are that duo that know they are pretty and fabulos, and also that they are fiercer than they look.
Joe Kido's perfect partner pokemon is...Froakie
So Joe is actually the easiest of them to see why he needed his digimon. Joe is the crest of reliability. He has all the book smarts and and know how. He can make a plan and write you a list of provisions and supplies you will need. But he is to nervous and scared of taking a chance and failing to go on the adventures he has studied and prepared for. At least not alone. He needs a friend with more confidence that can teach him to be brave. He could learn courage from the training the Froakie line. Its also a very watchful and fairly cautious of its surroundings. It and Joe could make compromises on a plan and I could see it going along with Joe on doing things at an angle that minimizes risk. Lastly Joe is a medic and froakie could help him keep his hand or any injuries clean, and since it has fingers Joe could probably teach it to help with Bandaging (I swear I read once that it can do that). So in addition to Helping Joe with his self esteem and going on adventures it might also make a pretty good field assistant to him
Koshiro "Izzy" Izumi's perfect pokemon partner is Chespin
Izzy has the crest of Knowledge, which pairs well with Chespin's natural curiosity. Chespin are also generally optimistic, which could maybe rub off on Izzy since he has a bit of a tendency to be more repressed and hide from emotions since overhearing his parents discuss his adoption. Chespin can also apparently control how tough its quails are. That plus the way its armor grows to cover it body during evolution would be topics of study Izzy would take an interest in, and help him and the pokemon bond
Bonus starters 1&2 Pokemons top two mascots. Who deserves to partner with them
Takeru "T.K." Takaishi's perfect pokemon partner is ... Pikachu.
I wanted to give T.K. Pikachu since he he is a prominent member of 2 groups of digidestends and get's a lot of screen time. I looked for reasons why they would be a good match and found a few. Pikachu is mentioned in season 1 of the anime to make a good pet for a kid. It is also harder to evolve than a traditional stater, which Patamon also was. But what really sold me on it was the semi new trend of Pikachu wearing its trainers hats. It is so cute to imagine a little Pikachu trying to swipe and wear T.K's hat, and then when he outgrows his first one or changes to new hat he could hand the old one to his pikachu and be like "Here you can keep this now".
Well since I gave Pikachu to T.K. of course I had to at least consider Eevee for Kari. But for real I gave it to her because her crest is "Light". I am not sure exactly what that means... that she is cheerful? Pleasant? Well light and sun kinda go together and Eevee can evolve into Espeon with either high friendship in the day or with a sun stone/shard. so cool Espeon can be there main evolution. Maybe Kari's can also evolve into like a giant flareon when she does that fusion digevolve thing with Yolei. Also with Kari and Gatomon Gatomon always felt like the on with the struggle (Personality) and Kari was there to help her get on the right path. An evil then redeemed Eevee sounds pretty fun.
Alright there is still the season 2 teammates and frankly the Hoenn starters fit them pretty well.
So Davis was the adventures two digi leader. While he may have shared Tai's level of courage and his passion for soccer, did not have Tai's confidence and was pretty in over is head as a leader. But he always tried his best and he did hep a lot (See Ken and his transformation). I picked Treecko for him because its line is has a lot of confidence, and are tough and sturdy pokemon in battle. Also like with Scorbunny, it is athletic enough and built in a way that I could easily see it helping Davis practice soccer and push a noodle cart latter on.
Iori Hida (Cody Hida) perfect pokemon partner is ... Mudkip
One pretty big part of Cody's character is that he is afraid of water. It got to where the anime gave Armadillomon an aquatic digevolution in Submarimon specificalyly so that he could help Cody feel safer in the water. .. So of course I had to pick a water pokemon for Cody. The Mudkip line are small yet strong like Cody. They are very loyal. Lastly it is known for being pretty docile and relaxed, so I could see it still helping to soften him and his more rigid views
Okay so this one is a lot because it looks like her Hawkmon. But it is also a cute pokemon and a really tough line. It would work well with her.
Now to add Ken and the pokemon I have chosen for him. According to the pokedex it is a starter pokemon
Ken Ichijoji's perfect pokemon partner is... Poipole
I wanted one for Ken that, like him, could work as a villain or a hero. Poipole is very intelligent, and an ultrabeast fits with how ambitious Ken is. It has poison typing. It seeks out light. Shot from its head can be powerful and dangerous attacks, or it can be doing art therapy (and Ken really really needs to do some kind of therapy). I coudl see it being a really good and beneficial friend/partner to Ken... Plus it would be really cool to see Poipole and Treecko DNA digivolve together.
Guess's on the ghost powers of secondary/background ghosts powers
So we have Hetty's power now. She was the last of the main 8 to get a power, so there is no more mystery with these 8. But the show does have a ever expanding group of background ghosts , and we only have about 4 of them's powers (I will count the basement ghosts all together since they all have the same power). By the way I totally called Chris's power. We have have 2 and a fifth seasons to go for seeing if any of these are correct, but here are my theory's/predictions for Background ghosts powers
1.) Crash. Crash was decapitated in a motorcycle accident. His head remains detached, and we have already seen that his head and body can function independently of each other. Does that count as a ghost power? With how little Crash shows up the show might want to just go with that being his power. He is not a character who gets a lot of time or focus
2.) Stephanie. Stephanie is a teen ghost who for some reason sleeps most of the year. I am going to theorize that any living who walks through her while she is awake will suddenly become very sleepy, find the closest comfortable surface (a bed, couch, chair) and fall fast asleep
3.) Carol. Walking through Carol makes a living person briefly experience a feeling as if they are chocking. This is both because Carol choked to death on a doughnut hole, and because when alive she was part of a mob, which liked causing people pain and discomfort.
4.) Nigel. I think Nigel's ghost power is probably really lame. Before anyone asks that is not because of how much I dislike him. But Nigel likes to be top dog. He wanted to be way back in season 2 when he first moved into the manner. By that point he had also spent enough time with the main 8 ghosts know that they are all fascinated with ghost powers. Even of he hadn't known it then, he definitely would have picked that up while living with them. So I think if he had had a really cool power then he would have shown it off to increase his social popularity in the house. Since he is a british officer and he thinks leaving the British Empire was a mistake/tantrum on the U.S's part, so maybe walking through him will cause livings to talk like an old timey British person for like 60 seconds.
5.) Baxter. Let's get away from walk through based powers. Baxter died holding a fife and if marching with Nigel and Jenkins will play it when they leave a room. I have seen it be suggested that his ghost power is probably that should he try hard enough his playing can be heard by livings. I would say that is probably accurate. Sure Jay couldn't hear him in the D&D episode, but he wasn't exactly playing for Jay. Jay isn't able to hear every song Alberta sings either.
6.) Okay for real I am going to theorize that Jenkins has the highest tier power of the three shed ghosts, he is even more powerful than Carol. But he either does not know what his power is because he has never bothered to try and find out, or better yet, he knows it but he can rarely be bothered to rouse himself up enough to use it. Just to use a semi common ghost ability I haven't seen in the show yet, I want to guess that Jenkins can make the air around him colder. In the summer when the Shed becomes unbearably hot Nigel and Baxter will start telling Jenkins something to the tune of "turn on the AC " and he will use his powers to cool them off. However if the temperature is below 90 something degrees Jenkins will just be like "Its not that hot. This is much cooler than the time I saw the city go up in flames" continues to stare blankly at the wall.
7.) Bjorn. Looks it is probably a no but imagine if Bjorn has the same electrical powers as Thor. Then the two of them somehow learn Morse code so they start messing with all the lights int here respective houses trying to send each other messages
