Glanycus coendersi
Moths of the genus Glanycus (Thyrididae - Striglininae) ranges from China and India to Borneo. It consists of six species, all with fenestrae ("windows") on at least the hindwings and with bright orange/red and brown/brick coloration, probably aposematic (a warning that the moth is presumably distasteful to predators).
This striking species, Glanycus coendersi, distinguished by the conspicuous red coloration on the wings, occurs in Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak, Kalimantan and Malaku Islands.
