Wooden Woody: My dad made this for me many years ago.

He left this world recently and I know I haven’t mourned properly to unlock the deeper emotions that need to be released after the loss of a parent, especially a patriarch who’s value can not be measured. He was a man of science, tears were always understood and allowed but never necessary for long. My siblings, mother and I were able to be with him often throughout his last few weeks, talking, reminiscing and reconnecting. I will always miss his presence, consistency and strong quiet character. He taught us well, I could really use some of that now. So I’m thankful that I get to think of him every time I see this piece and many other wonderful pieces of woodwork/art that he created for me, purely out of love.
