Rick clutched his framed photo of his first Morty. No amount of documenting could keep the memory of holding an original family member, someone you truly belonged with, who saw you grow from the start. He missed Beth and Summer too but they hadn’t been through as many traumatizing situations together. 

Putting the frame away he turned his attention to the photo album. Rick put his glasses aside to rub the tears from his eyes. Its leatherbinding was filled to the brim with pictures of his previous Morties, some were dead and some were simply lost. He usually masked his interest in photography as a fun hobby, but the truth was he couldn’t let go of the past. Having it physically exist comforted him. He could keep going forward when he knew it was safely tucked in one of his pocket dimensions. 

Rick snapped out of his nostalgia and quickly pocketed the album again. He had places to be, universes to see, and a family to not let under his skin.
