I don't understand what's so wrong with that drhampton caption? I mean, it does kinda get the one line about LGBT representation in Persona wrong, but I don't get why it's worthy of such heated criticism or attention?
It’s not about whether it’s right or wrong, per se. It’s about treating artists like zoo animals. Analyzing words and works of an artist as if they aren’t physically present to ask is just flat out rude. It’s also extremely lazy, academically.
I don’t think Fandom-As-Anthropological-Point-Of-Study is necessarily wrong, but even if the academic assessment isn’t necessarily 100% critical, it still treats the artist like her motivations must be somehow analyzed. It’s “othering” and it’s an attitude unique to people’s treatment of the female side of fandom.
Ask yourself if you’ve seen anyone at football games recently, writing a field guide to Green Bay fandom without actually talking to any of them. It’s an absurd idea, to draw conclusions about what someone (who is alive and available) feels about a subject by passive observation only. More than that, I’ll say again, it’s super rude!
Reaching out to artists or any fans of anything, privately, to ask them how they feel would be a very different thing. I hope that explains the distinction?

I hate how cheap VISION FACTORY is. Namie's their highest seller and they still can't be bothered to up her tour budget even slightly. (And that's not even addressing how they're cheaping out on her tour goods...looking @ you, dome tour and feel tour pamphlets).
Agreed @ the live band. if this tour is going to be more ballad heavy than usual, a live band is a must. I still don't understand why Namie ditched her band. Those live versions of FAST CAR and ROCK U from P<F tour were amazing.

It might be upscaled instead of native HD? (Not that that stopped UFA from doing the same thing...) If it isn't good enough IQ on BD, they probably want to avoid fan backlash.

But nah this is definitely clearer than the DVD format even if it's an upscale I know for a fact Genius 2000 tour and on (excluding Break The Rules) were recorded on industry standard HD cameras. I mean the majority of Genius 2000 was already broadcasted in full HD I have it (only things cut out are MC portions which mean nothing to me since no one cares enough to translate them). So its not like HD footage it doesn't exist yknow? I mean they already dug it up for Space of Hip Pop and Play tours and they look beautiful and are clearly not upscales. Idk if they were worried about fan backlash then maybe they should have been more daring with the majority of the Ballada pv's lmao.
