Three (or more if you like) Glee characters of your choosing are in a Bake Off; they're each tasked to make showstoppers that represent one of the other contestants. What do they bake and who wins?
Okay, I absolutely love this question and have thought about it for an ungodly amount of time, so here goes! (please also note that I am not a baker but I am a big bake off fan! I tried to do some research for this but I couldn't practically do any of this so if anything wouldn't work in reality I'm sorry!)
You said more than three if I like so I've gone for four contestants, Kurt, Blaine, Rachel, and Santana.
Kurt's showstopper is going to represent Blaine. He makes an entremet cake with a navy and burgundy mirror glaze to represent Blaine's Dalton days. The mousse layers would be passion-fruit, vanilla bean, with a raspberry insert and on a hazelnut dacquoise base. The passion-fruit and raspberry flavours are for Blaine's sweet but tart personality and the vanilla bean for his warmth. It's decorated with delicate chocolate bowties and sugar music notes, playful but still refined. Kurt would also inevitably whisper to Blaine making a joke about it being his second favourite dome shaped object...
Blaine is baking to represent Santana. He bakes a tiered cheesecake stack with a chili-chocolate base and tangy lime flavour for the actual cheesecake. It's topped with a glossy red glaze, salted caramel shards poking out from the top, and gold dusted chili peppers as decoration. The whole thing represents Santana's intensity, it's fiery but with indulgent richness too. Blaine tells everyone that he chose cheesecake because of Santana's unexpected soft side but it's really because he knows Kurt loves it and he is never not thinking about Kurt just a little bit.
Santana is going to make something to represent Rachel. She considers making a realistic troll doll but instead opts for a a tall, glossy, pink mirror glazed cake decorated with a Broadway marquee in fondant on the side with gold dusted fondant stars. On the top is a sugar figurine of Rachel, just on the right side of unflattering (so it doesn't look purposeful) and the cake itself is made of sponge soaked in cherry syrup and a champagne flavoured mousse. It's dramatic, loud, flashy, indulgent, and over the top, which Santana would announce proudly in perfect ear shot of Rachel.
Finally, Rachel is making something to represent Kurt. I think she'd have the best intentions but inevitably over reach with her abilities. She would make a pistachio sponge, a white chocolate and lavender mousse, and a lemon curd filling. The cake would be a base in which to hold a carousel structure with a sugar dome on top. The horses are made of modelling chocolate and are decorated in sugar ruffles and piped lace details. In between the horses there are hanging macarons dusted with edible glitter. Her goal is to lean into Kurt's love of spectacle and fashion, and making it grand and theatrical because of how much Kurt commands attention, but she adds her classic Rachel spin by taking it all just a bit too far, trying to add too many elements, and I think inevitably her structure fails and at least one of the horses break.
When it comes to who wins, I think it would be a toss up between Kurt and Santana. Like I said, I think Rachel would overshoot and run into problems. Blaine's flavours would pop but I think a cheesecake stack is hard to balance too so might be a bit wobbly? On a very personal level Kurt is my number one so I'm selfishly going to give him the win. Entrements do need a lot of finesse to pull off, and the flavours in his are also my personal favourites. Santana a very close second though!
This might be one of the longest answers I've given to an ask but I actually had so much fun thinking of this so I would absolutely love some more!! (I'd also love to post some short drabbles to practice my writing while I work on my longer fic so if anyone wants to send some prompts that would be truly amazing!)
