Probably been pointed out, but the Glee fandom is fucking toxic.
Was Santana a major bully? Yes. Did Finn deserve to retaliate? Yes. Did he deserve to out her? No.
I know that Santana did something similar to Karofsky and it was bad, but that is no excuse.
Saying that she had it coming because she's a bully is like saying that you shouldn't respect a trans person's pronouns if they're a bad person. You are giving minorities higher standards to reach and glorifying a straight, cis, white man.
Santana is not just a lesbian that was outed in a fucking HOMOPHOBIC SHOOL HALLWAY, she is a Latina Lesbian that was outed to an ENTIRE HOMOPHOBIC STATE!
If anyone, and I mean anyone, says that Finn was justified for acting this way, you are not a real ally. Finn has on multiple occasions shown bigotry that he doesn't seem to try and grow out of. He called Kurt a F*g and a few seasons later, after character growth was supposed to happen, called a BABY a Retard. He forced Quinn out of her necessary wheelchair because he thought she was faking. Quinn was not paralyzed. During that time she was an ambulatory wheelchair user. And if Finn thought that she was faking, he could've asked instead of putting her in more pain than she is already feeling.
I'd be a lot more lenient if the show and/or the fandom actually punished Finn but they don't. If Santana became the victim of a hate crime or killed herself, there would be no one else to blame but Finn. Just because Finn didn't make the campaign doesn't mean that it wasn't his fault.
I'm a lot more willing to defend Rachel on some of her offenses because a good amount of the fandom that I see will call her out. Not on the subreddit. That is an awful place for Rachel and especially Finn Antis.
Santana is a bully and deserved repercussions, but being outed is not the way. And I say this despite loving Santana more than anything. Finn could've confronted her in an empty area or called out her insecurities without outing her.
Also, just because she doesn't want to come out in a homophobic town does not make her a coward. It makes her a person who cares about her safety.
Let's not forget that he bullied Kurt. He was apart of a group that bullied all of his 'friends' and he never takes accountability. Finn is a hypocrite.
