Darren Criss @ GIFFONI 2015, Q&A with fans
Darren singing Something by The Beatles and saying his voice 'non funziona, dopo Hedwig' - doesn't work, after Hedwig. I still can't believe I heard him sing. *cries her heart out*
I kind of made a photo-shoot of Darren's backside while he was signing stuff, yes.
Darren talking about why he preferred Hedwig to How To Succeed In Business.
I'm so tired of this shit I'm just gonna write everything down. Are you even serious? Okay, so. I'm Italian and I'd never seen Darren before 07/24. I was at the meet and greet and then I went to the carpet, knowing that all I was going to see was like a flash of Darren signing stuff. Stop. (I feel so lucky that Darren signed my stuff because he was so nice and kind that he signed everything. And that I succeeded in reaching the first row, at the very end - I don't even know HOW.) Guess what? I did't give a single fuck. Because I live in fucking Italy and I don't know if I'll ever see him again. Like - really. It was hot and of course we didn't smell like flowers and *of course* we were tired and nervous but we didn't give a shit. And **of course** we were freaking out, when he was signing stuff, because Darren fucking Criss was right in front of us, in all his gorgeousness, kindness and wonderfulness, and that moment, I swear, I wasn't breathing. I was frozen. I still think it was just a dream. I don't know when or even *if* I'll ever realize that I really saw and met him. Do you have any idea of what Giffoni is like? Do you have any idea of what happened last year with Lea? We were even *more* people than yesterday. Meeting idols is something so improbable in Italy that italian fans who can afford a journey like that travel to the U.S. just to say them hi. Now, I'd like you to imagine how would you feel if the only way of meeting Darren was travelling to Italy. Yes. It sucks. We're not bad or rude fans. We care about and appreciate and respect Darren as much as you do - we just don't get the chance to tell him these things as often as you do. So please, forgive us. But I am so fucking happy that I met him that I've been crying since this morning and now it's 1.15 a. m. and I regret *nothing*.
DARREN CRISS @ LAST GLEEFFONI
So I made it! Yesterday was crazy and today I needed some rest, but I couldn’t be happier.
I got to Giffoni at like 7.30 a.m. and there were so many people who had been sleeping there to be in the front rows in front of the blue carpet. But I wanted to get to the Q&A sesssion, I think that ‘s much better than getting an autograph, you feel so close to the guest. Plus, last year I waited all day to see Lea and it was crazy, too stressing. Anyway, I was number 57 in the rush line and I was so suure I wouldn’t make it, but I still waited till 12. After all those who had a ticket went in, they started calling us and I finally got in. I was so happy and I found a seat in the fourth row, so I could see Darren really well.
I won’t tell you everything about the conference because you can watch the videos, I’ll just tell you some little things.
When he arrived we sang him Teenage Dream and it was very sweet. He looked quite worn out, but honestly I think he was just very tired and plus did you see his photos in Positano from the day before? He got burned. That feels terrible, you know. Put some sun screen on, son. Anyway, he loooked gorgeous, so much better than on camera. He was always very articulate in his answers and he explained that he always pays attention to the words he uses so that he’s not misunderstood (he had talked about that in a video with Tyler Oakley, too). He also spoke some Italian and he sounded wonderful. He mentioned Starkid, Hedwig and sang ‘Something’ by the Beatles when asked to sing ‘something’. At the end he told us he was grateful for all of us to be there to support him in spite of the awfully hot weather. And as he walked away we sang ‘This Time’.
Later on, he made the photoshoot, the interview with the journalists and with the jurors and signed many autographs on the blue carpet. He was really sweet and kind to everyone (even though some fans, not everyone, really exaggerated being aggressive or making inappropriate signs, but anyway, that’s the Glee fandom). I saw all of this on the big screen and a bit with my binoculars, haha.
Now finally, after 4 years of Gleeffoni, I really want to thank the GFF staff, they’re the best, always patient and kind even when ‘attacked’ by fans. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet Dianna, Naya, Lea and Darren for free and for standing us. This is gonnna stay forever in our hearts and in the history of GFF. May you go on with your wonderful jobs forever.
And that’s what you missed on Glee.
Darren Criss shouting “GRAZIE MILLE” at the end of the blue carpet. No, Darren. Thank *you* for being and realising my dream. ❤️
Darren Criss sitting cross-legged is my weakness. Still can't believe I actually MET him. He'so so precious.
