We drove up to the Cairngorms to visit Dun Mor Hillfort and Corrie Fee. It was raining lightly on our way up and we were worried that it wouldn’t be much of a walk. But right when we arrived at the top of the hillfort the rain eased off and left behind these stunning clouds, that kept on shape-shifting around the mountains. I was able to take some beautiful and scenic drone footage for my video. As we made our way down, the heaviest of the clouds had dissipated and revealed Corrie Fee and it’s magnificent waterfall, which was our other destination that day.
FIRST SNOWY WALK OF THE SEASON!!! :) :) :) Yep, it's always a joyous moment. The light, the cold, the sound of snow under your feet, the running of your nose, the numbing of your fingers. Oh heaven!!
Lovely company today for my 47th Ramblers Scotland group (and now just 8 to go!), this time in the Angus Glens with an energetic and very smiley Aberdeen Young Walkers. It was a Bilbo-tastic 'there and back again' route from the Glen Doll car park to Crow Craigies and back, using the famous Jock's Road for much of it.
It wasn't quite as sunny as I hoped, but the soft light made for a lovely atmosphere, and it was about as benign as you could hope for. It was nice to say hello to Angus Ranger Hugh at the start of the day, and then finish with coffee and the most sublime piece of Guinness Cake at the Glen Clova Hotel & Luxury Lodges. A grand day out :)
Aberdeen Young Walkers are one of our five Young Walkers groups, and they organise their walks via Meetup. Newbies always welcome! https://www.meetup.com/Aberdeen-Young-Walkers/?fbclid=IwAR1sOxxQ2RbqYvbkAFu64ZDC2MqCkVViCCDCtDRorhlpwQoieMSNyGZZen4
