Some early production credits by the famous, uh, producers show that they were a part of something they didn’t return much to later on as one can notice. For instance, Tony Visconti’s early credits mixed with two of his most famous coworkers, i.e. Bolan and Bowie, so those he did in between the jobs for them also show two things: one, he was an in-demand producer and two, he was a part of a scene with them. I mean, he went to work as a bassist on Magna Carta’s Seasons, which was close to what Bowie did at a certain time and you can notice some similarities to what Bolan did, before he changed his band’s name. Yes, Visconti could’ve been a great folk rock producer, though his most famous clients brought him to a different set of soundscapes.
