There’s a war going on out there somewhere

And Galfore isn’t here...

Head of the planet Tamaran the family Galfore has been away fighting in the war for some time, leaving the eldest, Blackfire, in charge of things in his absence. Deeply regrets this decision when he finally returns and learns of all the shenanigans.

Starfire is young

She loves her family with all her heart

Starfire arrives in Moscow to meet her fiance, the wealthy Prince Glgrdsklechhh. She is less than thrilled with him but tries to console herself with the knowledge that the match will save her family from dire financial straits. However, her reluctance plus the advances of a handsome young man she meets at the opera are later enough to convince her to break the engagement and risk social ruin.

(I color-swapped most of the outfits but that white coat is just Too Iconic.)

Raven is good

Starfire’s devoted and sensible friend

“STARFIRE. You have to calm down.”

Raven is an orphan taken in by Starfire’s family as a young child. She sympathizes with Starfire but tries to convince her not to do anything rash. After the elopement falls through she calls Robin to help with damage control.

Blackfire is shrewd

Starfire’s older sister

Arranged her marriage to Glgrdsklechhh

Blackfire makes a big deal about the necessity of her dear sister’s marriage.

However, after Raven is unable to persuade Starfire to forget about the elopement, she does some investigating. Raven discovers that Blackfire has greatly misrepresented their financial state to the rest of the family and they are actually nowhere near destitution (maybe she has some sort of secret savings or something? I don’t know how nineteenth-century Russia works). “In My House” is both Starfire being upbraided for the attempted elopement and Blackfire being called out for her deception.

...Somebody...is hot

Aqualad? He and that nameless Tamaranean dude from “Betrothed” are the only ones (besides Robin) that I remember Starfire showing any interest in on the show. Red X? Speedy?

Come to think of it, Malchior would make a good Anatole if we just shift his target from Raven to Starfire.

Kitten is a brat

“Isn’t it romantic?? They’re fighting over me!”

Roped Robin into marriage for money and prestige (and to make Fang jealous during one of their spats).

Fang is fierce

Robin probably minds (and is driven to dueling by) Kitten and Fang flaunting their affair less than the taunting he gets from the others at the club about it (”You gonna let him get away with that?”, etc.).

Young Prince Glgrdsklechhh is wealthy and smelly and plain

The fiance’s unappealing enough even without messed-up in-laws!

And Cyborg’s just for fun!

Idk, I’m imagining a tricked-out troika analogous to the T-Car.

And what about Robin?

An old friend (that’s all, he insists to himself and everyone else) of Starfire’s and Raven’s. His ears perked up a bit too quickly when he heard that Starfire was in town, which is why Kitten tries to steer her towards not-Anatole instead. And while I don’t see Robin being as philosophically-minded as Pierre, he would totally play armchair general if he couldn’t fight in the war himself.

2080. In truth, Starfire's wedding greatly strayed from that of a traditional wedding of Tamaranian Royalty. Tamaranian marriage is not sealed with a kiss like weddings on earth, thus explaining Starfire's unfamiliarity with the purpose of kissing other than to absorb languages. Blackfire planned for Starfire to have to kiss Glgrdsklechhh only to make her little sister suffer more than what would be necessary.
