dfd (gw) for the ask game, and I'll go ahead and make my post at some point tonight lol
oh nooooo
I may never actually post this but gw is code for Glimweaver and if you are thinking of the characters from She-Ra Princesses of Power you are correct and pls do not cancel me.
I have over 7k words of this btw
Adora's mom
Adora can I come over after school? (After school)
We can hang around by the pool (Hang by the pool)
Did your mom escape from the Frigtzone jail? (Frightzone jail)
We better keep her here so she doesn't put us under her spell. (Under her spell)
You know, I'm not the little princess that I used to be
I'm all grown up now, Baby, can't you see?
Adora's mom has got it goin' on
She's all I want, and I've waited for so long
'dora, can't you see? You're just not the girl for me
I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with 'dora's mom
Shadow Weaver showing 'motherly' care to Glimmer.
I must send Glimweaver for the ship game 💜❤️
I Ship It 💜❤️
What made you ship it?
Glimmer’s my favourite character, so by default I must ship her with the most problematic people.
Jokes aside, I loved their dynamic is s4. Glimmer learning to trust SW after she kidnapped and tortured her earlier in the show is a prime reason why I love this ship. ALSO, Glimmer getting flustered and blushy in the garden?! There was a hidden attraction there and you can't convince me otherwise.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The power dynamics (and kind of their age gap). Despite being stricken by grief and anger, Glimmer can see right through SW’s ploys. She’d never let SW have complete control over her because she’s not stupid. But drifting away from her friends, it’s nice to have SW around, someone who doesn’t argue but listens instead.
I'm an angsty shipper, so imagine Glimmer enjoys having control over their relationship. I have a marriage au idea where Queen Glimmer marries SW but continues to rule Brightmoon on her own. SW tries to meddle in royal affairs but Glimmer doesn't let her, she ruthlessly cuts her off any royal responsibilities and SW becomes a trophy wife who spends her days tending to her garden and painfully watching Glimmer make decisions without her (though Glimmer still listens to her advice and sometimes takes it because she has some degree of respect for her wife). At night, Glimmer finds creative ways to let all that queen stress out and SW loves every minute of it.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I don’t think Shadow Weaver ever intended to hurt Glimmer in s4. She wanted to teach Glimmer magic and latch onto that power for her own benefit. Shadow Weaver knows she’s not powerful enough to overthrow the queen and rule Etheria but she can certainly cosy up to someone who is.
But I think, deep down, SW cares about Glimmer because she’s the closest thing she has to Micah. It may be wishful thinking, but I think SW loved Micah in her own messed up way. You even see it in s5 when she saves Micah from the Horde drone. I think that’s what many fail to realise, that characters can be multifaceted. Someone can be power-hungry and still be capable of love.
Thanks for the ask!
