WICKED (Male Galinda) x Reader, Part 1
Y/n Rose is a close, and the only friend, of Elphaba Thropp, as she's the only one to truely see her for who she is. Her dads' and three brothers too. Because of this, y/n never really had any other friends, but, she was fine with that. She had her one true friend by her side, and vice versa.
When starting at Shiz, y/n is elated to have gotten in, but upset that her friend cannot follow her... right? What happens when they both end up rooming with some random drama king. Will they all become friends? Or is there more brewing just under the surface for two of them?
Let's dance through the journey at Shiz and beyond, shall we?

"Glindo! Y/n! Exactly how dead is she?"
A bucket of water lays on it's side, water droplets still dripping from it. Recently used. The long trail it's left behind still prominent.
"Because there has been so much rumour and speculation..."
Blue feathers lay beside it as it goes by.
"let us tell you, the whole story," a boys voice rings out with stern uncertainty.
"According to the Time Dragon Clock... "
A pamphlet of the green witch soaked in water passes through.
"the melting occurred at the 13th hour. The direct result of a bucket of water thrown by a female child," a girls voice speaks out with softness but a hint of sadness.
The view of a black pointy hat standing strong at the end shows up in centre of frame.
"Yes, the Wicked Witch of the West is dead!" Both voices echo together, attempting to sound excited for the news, but falling a bit short on that front.
The flying monkey burst out the window, flying around the Kiamo Ko Palace, shrieking as they do so. As they fly across the bridge, a figure on what appears to be a navy blue horse rides out below them, cloaked in mystery.
A stunning waterfall coming from all sides bursts into view over some thorny haunted hills, and then, above that, the yellow brick road. Upon that yellow brick road, walks the Tin Man, Dorothy with the Wicked Witch's broomstick, Toto, Scarecrow, and the cowardly lion, the last speeding up a bit to catch up with the four ahead. The emerald city in view within the distance as the sun hangs low.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A tulip field, arranged in a rainbow that took far to long to create, rests around Munchkin Land with some kids running through, all shouting in enjoyment, all ringing different objects in hopes to gain the towns attention.
"Good news!" One of the red-haired boys calls out, "The Witch! She's dead" He concludes as he rings his cow bell.
"Come out! She's gone!" Another shouts out as the small group of children cheer, "She's dead!" A little girls voice rings out. Upon reaching the yellow brick road, some dirt splutters across it, but with news, no child bats an eye.
"Munchkins, wake up!" The same boy from before calls out, "Watch out! Come on! Come on!" Rings the same little girl from earlier. The noise causes adults to begin upon up windows and doors to see what all the fuss is about. "Good news! The Wicked Witch is dead," once again, the same red-headed boy calls out to all that can hear him as he rings the towns bell to alert all that may not be able to hear him.
"Good news!" Munchkins all rush out of their homes in celebration, some carrying old pitchforks, others climbing on structures used to hold water, "She's dead," posters of the wicked witch are seen ripped off of the pin board in joy, more people exiting homes and cheering with one another, "The Witch of the West is dead," as another plastered poster is torn is two.
"The wickedest witch there ever was," boards get removed from windows that carry more posters, "The enemy of all of us here in Oz," as this occurs, people look out of their homes in excitement at the revelation, "is dead,"
All Munchkins gather in the centre of town, "Good news!" Hugging, cheering, the celebrations beginning to unfold before their eyes, "Good news!"
"Let us be glade!" A graceful male voice rings out, Glindo, as a pink sparkle appears in the sky, closely followed by a whirl of y/f/c petals.
"Look! It's Galindo! And y/n!" A man calls out from the crowd as the rest around him clamours, "Let us be grateful!" An angelic females loving voice follows after, y/n, as the pink sparkle reveals itself as a pink bubble with a human man inside. Still behind him, the figure of a women can now be made out between the floating petals as the Munchkins all cheer louder now.
"Let us rejoicify that goodness could subdue," y/n continues on as more of her can be seen by the citizens below, "The wicked workings of you-know-who," Glindo finishes off for her as he lands softly, popping the bubble with his crystal sceptre with a slight chuckle. He then hastily proceeds to turn slightly as the y/f/c petals drift downwards slowly, him reaching his hand out and y/n accepts it as she lands on his bubble once all the petals fly off through the wind.
Glindo wears a pink shimmery blazer with a matching waistcoat, pants, and shoes with the undershirt being a nice, bright, blinding white. He bears a sliver crown upon his smooth blonde locks that represent the shape of a bubble as he carries his pointy stunning crystal sceptre with a pink gem inside. His cheeks have been dabbed up with pink and white glitter with the rest of his makeup spotless. Y/n is wearing a y/f/c tulle ballgown (the image is just a reference to what I'm imagining for the gown) with matching y/f/c heels, she also bears a silver tiara with patterns and 3D pop outs of petals upon the top of her beautifully braided half up do with curls. Within her hands, she also carries a sceptre made of crystals, but it bears more of a resemblance to a flower, a lotus to be exact, with a y/f/c gem within where the pollen would usually reside. Her makeup also matches her outfit, but with slightly darker eyeshadow, a wing and some faint rosy blush.
Both public figures stare out into the supportive crowd as y/n rounds Glindo slowly, as to not trip to stand beside the edge of the bubble. The crowd "awws" as the male wraps a gentle arm around the female's waist as she places a hand to her heart and he chuckles lightly once more at the unstoppable support.
Though, something ways in heavy on their hearts. Though, they cannot speak of what exactly.
"It's good to see us, isn't it?" Glindo exclaims, staring down at the crowd below with an intense gaze, outstretching his arm with the sceptre to add more pizzazz. This causes the Munchkins to laugh in response, knowing how unserious the couple can be.
Moving his arm from around y/n's waist, he hold it out to her for her to latch onto as he helps her down and off of the bubbles platform as they proceed to the circular railing as all go silent around them. "Fellow Ozians... let us set the record straight," Glindo starts as he looks around the people below who wait with bated breath. Y/n finishes off his statement with a smile plastered onto her lips, arm tightening in his, "Yes... the Wicked Witch of the West... is dead."
As she chokes out the final words, only her fiancé notices the slight slip up, and squeezes her hands subtly with his own as he can easily spot that the cheering is affecting both of them in many different factors.
Knowing that they can't keep silent for much longer, y/n starts up again, "Isn't it nice to know," she looks from Glindo to the people below with fake admiration as one of her hands lifts to her heart, "That good will conquer evil?" She extends that same left arm out, shutting her eyes to help her through. Seeing this, Glindo once again steps up to take over, "The truth we all believe'll" he does a little wave to some of the Munchkinland kids, "by and by," all attention is now back him, one of the main public figures of Oz, "Outlive a lie."
The soon-to-be married couple sings gracefully and in beautiful harmony together, "For you and-" before they are rudely cut off by one of the male Munchkin.
"No one mourns the wicked," the couple glance their heads in synch to the man below, matching glares resting upon their faces, offended that they were cut off, "No one cries," they do "They won't return!" A lady states with certainty.
"No one lays a lily on their grave," as the town sings in cheer below, Glindo eases his fiancé over so that he can help to assist her down the stairs. "The good man scorns the wicked," flowers are tossed from a balcony as y/n raises up her dress slightly as to not trip, Glindo taking her wand in the same hand that hold his so that the process is easier. And so he can keep her arm wrapped in his as he leads her down. "Through their lives, our children learn," he whispers sweet affirmations to her as they both seemingly glide down the slight spiral staircase as some children rush from the mothers who watch on with loving gazes, beside them, more Munchkins washing items quite aggressively, but they are happy, "What we miss when we misbehave."
"And goodness knows," the two reach to bottom of the stairwell, the Munchkins parting for the two as raise tulips into the air in a rhythm as Glindo starts up again with his public image as he gently lets go of the girl he loves, passing back her wand, to go to the right side as she goes left, "the wicked's lives are lonely," he holds a woman's hands as he continoues on down the line, y/n doing the same on the opposite side. "Goodness knows," the girl in y/f/c boops a young boys nose, causing him to smile and laugh lightly, "the wicked die alone," her eyes hold a faint glossy texture and her heart feels as though it ways a ton as she reconnects with her darling and walks beside him. "It just shows when you're wicked," y/n goes to the right now, Glindo watching on, and takes hold of a Munchkin mans hands as he bows down slightly to her as her lips tremble.
She then makes a turn, sensing someone other then her sweetheart behind her, and bends down upon seeing a little girl with a y/f/c tulip, "you're left only," and y/n wiggles her face at the young Munchkin, smiling at the beaming face at her "on your own," and the youngster hands her the beautiful tulip, Glindo watching on with his watching gaze but keeping ahold of his well mannered poker face.
"Yes, goodness knows," before all throw their tulips up in the air, but the y/h/c keeps a tight hold of hers, transferring it to the same hand as her wand "the wicked's lives are lonely," Glindo returns to y/n's side as a mother and daughter dance in sync behind the couple. "Goodness knows the wicked cry alone" the two in question slowly stroll past many dancing Munchkin goers, the girl grabbing hold of her lovers hand as he squeezes it softly, reminding her that he's here. "Nothing grows for the wicked, they reap only..." as the fake smiles continuo, Glindo chuckles lightly as the pair turn around at the spectacle around them as they make their way back to the stairs, ready to leave and grieve, "what they've sown," with Glindo taking hold of his magical partners wand, but allows her to hold the tulip as she lifts her skirt with his subtle, but obvious, help. She links her arm with his offered one once more, climbing further before-
"But, Mr Glindo! Ms Y/n!" Comes out from a little girls voice, causing the two to turn around as they both respond, "Yes?" and see that it's the same girl from earlier that gave the female in y/f/c the tulip. "Why does wickedness happen?" She questions and y/n melts slightly at the innocence, something she wished she still held. As the Munchkins gasp and murmur about the questions, Glindo quickly opens his mouth, before shutting it in a soft smile, "that's a good question," he starts as the little one gains her mothers arms around her as the boy continous on, "one that many people find confusifying. Are people born wicked?" He gestures out in his magnificent way as his fiancé takes over, gesturing over to one of the remaining banners of their dear deceased friend, "Or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?" All around swivel to look at said banner as the Good Witch of the South carries on, "After all, the Wicked Witch has a childhood. She had a father-" and gets cut off by her lover, "who, by the way, had been appointed governor of Munchkinland."
"I'm off to the Assembly, dear."
"And she had a mother" Y/n pronounces, "as so many do" Glindo adds on as the two lean into one another.
"How I hate to go and leave you lonely That's alright, it's only just one night But know that you're here in my heart while I'm out of your sight"
"And like every family," Glindo begins "they had their secrets," y/n finishes off for him by whispering.
"Have another drink, my dark-eyed beauty I've got one more night left here in town So have another drink of green elixir And we'll have ourselves a little mixer Have another little swallow, little lady, and follow me down"
"And one thing led to another," Y/n informs the townspeople "as it so often does," the male beside her chimes in with a humorously serious gaze as he looks from one side to another.
Screaming
"But from the moment the witch was born, she was, Dulcibear! well, more screaming different," Y/n solemnly and softly states, careful with her words.
"It's coming! Now? The baby's coming! Oh. And how! I see a nose I see a curl It's a healthy, perfect, lovely little- gasp Oh, sweet Oz, oh"
"What is it? What's wrong"
"How can it be? What does it mean? It's uncanny! It's obscene! Like a froggy, ferny cabbage The baby is unnaturally Green?" Take it away, take it away!"
Dulcibear sighs as she looks down at the little green baby, stroking it with her paws nail, "It's alright, little one," she then proceeds to shush it gently, causing the baby to coo as the bear proclaims sweetly that, "we'll look after you." The baby coos more with a big smile, causing the brown bear to chuckle softly at the adorable sight.
"So her nanny, Dulcibear, raised her," Glindo takes over the explaining, as he knows that y/n might slip up in this next bit, "and as she grew, so did her challenges." Specifically leaving her out for the next while in the tale, but I'll show you what really went down.
We transport to many years later, in the past, outside the Governors house in the garden where NessaRose sits in her wheelchair, and Elphaba lays beside her best friends, reading her favourite book on the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, who's laying on her back, floating little petals about above her eyes.
As Dulcibear gets called away by the Governor, she exclaims to the two friends, who turn their attention to the loving nanny, y/n letting the petals fall atop of her, "little ones, watch your baby sister. Just a clock tick," before scurrying away to the house.
The two friends proceed to stand up and head to Elphaba's little cute sister in her wheelchair, both taking a seat upon a crate, "Oh, Nessarose," the green girl hands over a stunning pink flower to the younger girl, one that y/n had created just moments ago, "Don't you worry. We're here."
"Now," she takes hold of the little ones hands, "you want to see something amazing?" as y/n gets distracted with her magic once more, producing a bundle of tulips before her eyes, causing them to sparkle at the sight. The y/h/l y/h/c y/e/c girl also gained her powers from birth but, unlike the Thropp family, hers loved her unconditionally. That, and because she didn't know who her actual mother was because she has two dads and knew them for as long as she could remember. Also was raised by her three older brothers too.
The girl, so deep in her own mind, hadn't even realised that Elphaba had stopped her story and that bullies had arrived, only getting brought out of her trance upon the sound of Nessa crying reaching her ears.
She's quick to attempt to shush the girl soothingly, cupping her own gentle hands across her ears at the loud noise of the mean Munchkin kids. That is, before Elphaba yells, "stop!" out, flinging pebbles towards the bunch, making the scramble away in slight pain.
"Elphaba! Elphaba Thropp, what have you done this time?" He stops in his tracks, the Governor, upon seeing his little one cry as Dulcibear rushes to her side and y/n hastily and calmly move away to allow it. "Oh. That's okay. Come to daddy," he gently coos to Nessa before harshly speaking the words, "And now you've made your sister cry. At least y/n here tried to help."
Elphaba looks so dejected, and her best friend hates that she got dragged in like that. It's happened for years. The governor praising how I came out normal and with powers and why his eldest couldn't be like that.
"Let's go get you a beautiful piece of cake" he exclaims once more, wheeling Nessa away to the house.
Dulcibear sighs before picking up the dropped book, "It's all right, little one. He shouldn't have blamed you," she states, handing over the book before looking to the y/h/c girl, who hasn't picked up her head since the Governor appeared "and he shouldn't have brought you into it."
The nanny bear is then called away again by the Governor, and she fondly looks at the two children once more as they sit down beside each other and she wonders off. Y/n looks into the pop-out book as her children friend reopens it to the paged it was on, a face full of sorrow and confusion as y/n wraps an arm around her shoulders before walking off to find her Papa.
"And so..." Glindo starts up once again, looking to her sweetheart who looks as though she's close to cracking, and knows they can't stay much longer, "it couldn't have been easy," he grips her hand tightly but gently to show his love and support it this secret way as he looks from side to side with a proper serious look singed into his features. It could come across as anything with this gesture, like a silent celebratory moment.
"No one mourns the wicked," the two walk down the steps once more, y/n receiving her items, and head to the centre back as they stare up with slight discomfort at the large Wicked Witch of the West statue made of straw. The figure carries a broomstick, bears a hat and somewhat of a flowy cape, arm outstretched with nails up and a green-painted face. "Now at last, she's dead and gone," Glindo looks down in such pain and sorrow, not caught on by the Munchkin residents, but y/n watches in subtle horror at the statue getting wheeled into the centre, unable to take her gleaming y/e/c off of it. "Now at last, there's joy throughout the land," the Munchkins continue their gleeful dancing and singing, forming a circle around the statue with a sign that reads "KiLL THE WITCH" and some more wood resting below.
The townspeople gather more as one of the last banners of the Witch falls. "And goodness knows," the public eye couple break out of their trances, "goodness knows," the two harmonising as they gather the strength to head towards what will soon be a more gruesome sight. "We know what goodness is," as children watch from the side, they happily gleam at their mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and all, "ah," the two lovers continue to keep up with all around them as their facades fall more. All good memories flood their minds as their hearts continue to ache and break, "Goodness knows the wicked die alone" y/n has her own little moment here as she moves closer to her old childhood friend's horrible legacy statue, "she died alone," hastily wiping away a stray tear before it can fall and anyone can notice.
"Woe to those, woe to those," a Munchkin male proceeds around the left of the girl, holding a flaming torch within his hands grip "Who spurn what goodnesses," and passes it to her, and though it pains her, she grasps it within her as the male bows to her, both with slightly different smiles. He carries one of pure happiness to hand this opportunity over to one of the two good witches; hers is a light, tight-lipped smile, gentle, calm, but deep down knowing what she's being asked to do. He moves backwards to join his people as y/n carries her gaze upwards, with a broken heart, "They are shown" tosses to flaming torch to the bottom of the statue, just catching the slight gasp from the man beside her, him not knowing if she'd actually do it or not. He would've done it for her if need be. Knowing just how much damage this festivity is bringing to her poor soul.
And just like that. That wonderful childhood friendship is gone for good.
She continues her look her dread and regret, one final longing look to one of her bestest of friends before, "No one mourns the wicked," back to it, "good news!" she sings aloud, alone as Glindo watches the celebrations occur around the two. Suddenly, y/n snaps around and begins her quick trek back to hers and her sweethearts platforms rests, the man in question following in quick steps behind her, "No one mourns the wicked, "good news!" she almost cries out. She doesn't even wait for Glindo to help her up the stairs, that is how much grief she's currently holding in.
"No one mourns the wicked," the fiancé's stand beside one another, y/n ready to magically produce her petals to take her away, before she remembers Glindo's persistence for her to ride in his bubble, as she is too sad to fly. So, she stays put, "Wicked!" the final enormous banner of the girl they once knew falls to the ground, "Wicked!" and once all harmonising is complete, the Munchkins below hug each other and cheer once more as the two that they adore so much fake their excitement. "Whoo!" Glindo announces, "Yep!" y/n adds on, before letting her man take the reins once more, "Well, this has been fun. As you can imagine, we have much to attend to with the Wizard's unexpected departure. So if there are not further questions, we're gonna go," he ends off with pressing the button on the floor of the bubble machine with her dazzling shoe, creating the bubblegum pink bubble around them both. Well, that it before-
"Glindo! Y/n! Is it true you were her friend?" A female's voice calls out from below, causing all around to look with fear and uncertainty as the girl in y/f/c freezes slightly, not sure if she heard the phrase right. As if reading her mind, Glindo puts a hand to his ear and shouts, "What?" though that comes out muffled, like under the sea. "Sorry," he holds up a finger, "One sec," before he clears his throat and pops the bubble encasing the couple, making them feel unsafe once more, "What?" He questions with an exacerbated sigh, "Is it true you were her friend?" The girl repeats, causing more whispers, clamouring, and gasps from below at the speculation at hand.
It's now the male's turn to freeze as his look gives off pain and a glare vibe, "friend?" his voice wavers, looking to the women beside him for help as she's now back properly as looks down below, hesitant, before responding with a "yes." Who would've thought that only that one reply would cause such a stir, and she tries to save it by adding in, "I-I mean, we did know her," with haste and chuckles lightly, which doesn't seem to help their cause in the slightest. "That is," Glindo takes over from her, trying to also save them from any backlash that this unexpected question may offer, "our paths did cross."
A close-up shot of the engulfed by flames statue.
A close-up shot of three pairs of hands joining together in the middle.
A close-up shot of Glindo, y/n, and Elphaba, the latter sat in the middle of the lover pair as she places her hat on her head, covering her face in the process, as the two beside her smiled gently.
The two look to one another before nodding gently as they finish it together, "At school," as more gasps and whispers make their way up to their ears. "But you must understand," Glindo starts to add, "it was a long time ago," y/n finishes as she grabs hold of the male's hand once again as he brings it up to his lips to bring it a quick little peck.
The memories all flooding back.
A/n: Okay, phew, that is Part 1 for this fic done. Jeez, that took me longer than expected, but with everything else going on right now, I shouldn't be too surprised. Anywho! This fic will mainly be from the Reader (y/n) POV unless stated so, so two or three songs might not be in it, but I might still provide their links, sorry! Anywho, hope you liked this! Also, any troubles with any links, just let me know!
