There’s nothing quite like a visit from the PC problem.

In the last three hours or so, Skyrim seems to have decided that it won’t work anymore. And it’s been quite sudden - it was fine earlier in the day. Now it reliably crashes within about 10-15 minutes of starting up. At first it seemed to be linked to dragon attacks, particularly in enemy-NPC-heavy areas. However, it seems to have spread into a more general instability.

Quests bug out, NPCs are randomly hostile, textures go funny ... there’s suddenly a cornucopia of problems. It’s all rather annoying.

Clearly something, somewhere, has changed - perhaps some component has updated, or something. But I have to admit to being quite baffled as to what. There doesn’t seem to be any obvious problems that I can identify. (That leaves the non-obvious problems, of course, and there are doubtless many of them.)

Anyway, a crash every time a dragon attacks effectively makes the game unplayable. So, unless this magically goes away again tomorrow, that may well be it for the adventures of Kharik the Orc.

Now imagine if ubisoft and bethesda made a game. Glitches...glitches everywhere...
