Tiera, our first Torch Bearer, was born in Willow Creek. While his sister decided to move out to Oasis Springs, Tiera disliked the thought of such an arid environment and decided he’d try his luck in Brindleton Bay.
Upon arrival he was unimpressed to find the lot empty, and decided to use his allotted 20,000 simoleons to build himself a small starter home in which to begin his life. It did not become a particularly pretty home, but it was a home none the less.
He just kept wishing he’d had a bit more money to decorate his new home with, but alas he somehow managed to blow away almost all his savings to the point that he was left with the pitiful sum of four simoleons.
With his new home (mostly) furnished, Tiera decided to take his first day easy. He grabbed his acoustic guitar and immediately went to the nearby pier to play some sweet sweet tunes.
His singing voice is horrifying.
He saw a lot of cats at the pier during that day. Despite having next to no money to even take care of his own needs, he decided he wanted to adopt a stray black cat that passed him by. He named her Umbra.
Now if he just could get some money to buy a food bowl for his new cat...
He decided to sell one of his extra arm chairs that he'd just tossed into his bedroom without even placing it properly to get money for the bowl, a litterbox and a scratching post. Wouldn't want the cat scratching up the furniture, after all!
Though he was tempted to spend the rest of the left over money on plants and more furniture, Tiera decided to save it for food, knowing he’d have some tough time to provide for himself until he can decide what to do with his life. He also realised he was, in fact, quite hungry, but with barely any cooking skills he decided he’d start off with a salad. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?
... He cut his finger making the salad. Twice.
It was then that he realised the salad needed a bit of something, and for some reason he decided the very thing the salad needed was earwax.
Sigh... well at least his cooking skill is now level two.
Having finished his salad, Tiera realised something about his new cat. Umbra, it turns out, is mischievous by nature, and decided it was perfectly OK to scratch up the furniture instead of the scratching post Tiera bought for her. Umbra did not take kindly to being scolded and proceeded to hiss at her new owner.
And then she sat on his bowl of salad.
With that, Tiera decided he’d had enough excitement for the day. Before bed he decided to change Umbra’s outfit into something more in tune with both her nature and his own tastes and she is now sporting a vest with a black bell collar.
Tiera then went to bed, but Umbra, it seemed, had other ideas. She slipped out of the house as soon as Tiera’s attention was not on her. And what did the mischievous little cat do once outside?
She fell asleep on a sidewalk a few lots away from home.
Oh, this is going to be something, isn’t it... :’)
So, having booted up Sims 4 the other day I remembered years and years ago playing ISBI challenge on Sims 3. Inspired by the thought I decided I’d take one of my so called “progenitor” sim’s children and starting the challenge once again with him.
Meet our Torch Bearer Tiera, son of Turisas, one of the many sims born into my Korpinsiipi legacy.
Tiera is a muser, music lover, loves outdoors and is a dance machine (at least in his own opinion). Due to not having started quite from scratch, he has some basic skills plus level 4 in DJ Mixing and level 3 in Guitar. His starting aspiration is becoming a Musical Genious, and due to a rather productive teenage stage he has already completed the first two milestones. (Said milestones will not count towards the final points due to not having been completed during the challenge).
To begin the challenge, there has to be some rules laid out. I chose to write some of them from memory and then supplement them with what I found after a quick search. I then modified them slightly to fit my personal needs and tastes in how I want this challenge to play out.

Create a household with one sim. This sim will be the Torch Bearer.
Only the Torch Bearer may be controlled. All other characters must be controlled by the AI.
During each life stage, you control non-Torch Bearers ONCE and choose a singular task for them to do (i.e. getting a job, becoming a vampire, etc).
Choose one of the Torch Bearer's children to become the Heir. All other children will be Spares in case of the Heir's death. The Heir does not need to be the eldest child.
Upon changing Torch Bearers the old Torch Bearer can no longer be controlled.
When a child that is not the Heir grows into a young adult, they must be moved out of the household.
The challenge ends if the Torch Bearer dies prematurely without passing along the Torch.

Roll a die to select non-Torch Bearer's jobs (assuming the one controlled action / life stage is used for finding a job).
Randomise all children's traits. Optionally, roll a die to decide how many times to randomise them.
Randomise all aspirations for non-Torch Bearers. Optionally, roll a die to decide how many times to randomise them.
Every few generations, move the new Torch Bearer to a different house upon marrying them. Have them start their new life with 20,000§. Take all paintings of past Torch Bearers and any tombstones/urns with you.
Deathflowers can be grown, but they can't be held by any sim in the household.

Utopia is a futuristic house catering to the needs of those interested of the far reaches of space and all things science. Its main features are the domed glass roofs that protect the trees the house was built around. There is also a secret laboratory in the basement, complete with a telescope and a rocket launch pad.
Utopia has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two beds for children or teens. The main house has only one bathroom, but there is a secondary bathroom in the basement laboratory area.
