When Nitori generates her healthbar for the midboss spellcard in Mountain of Faith, it actually starts as a nonspell healthbar (white), but it turns orange as the spell begins. This does not happen in case of midboss Hina.

twitter.com/Bravidunno pointed out in his youtube video (see youtube.com/watch?v=JSStq170RH4) that Aya Shameimaru's healthbar from 塞符「山神渡御」 Blockade Sign "Mountain God's Procession" spellcard on Easy mode in Mountain of Faith displays a strange behaviour. Usually, for nonspell+spell(s) healthbars, when the nonspell part (white) of the healthbar is depleted, the spell part (orange) does not change dimensions (does not increase). But in this particular case, the healthbar increases to full length.
Weird timers in Mountain of Faith (2)
This is an update for /post/715422193551638529/. It is possible to get the timer to act like that for Nitori and Aya as well.
Below gifs show midboss Nitori being defeated with 28 seconds left on timer and boss Nitori starting briefly with 28 seconds after the dialogue and the timer suddenly changing to 60.
Similarly, Momiji is defeated with 8 seconds remaining so Aya will have 8 seconds shown shortly on her timer before the value changing to 60.
Funny though, when viewing the replay, I decided to view it starting directly from stage 4 and pray I won't die from the desync before Aya's fight. The replay desynced as expected, but it also broke Momiji's fleeing crow animation.
You can see on the left side the replay viewed starting from stage 3 (in order not to desync) and on the right side the replay viewed starting from stage 4. In the desynced replay, the crow becomes a dark vertical line.
Weird timers in Mountain of Faith (1)
In Mountain of Faith, some bosses will have a weird number of seconds at the beginning of their fight.
Let's take Minoriko firstly. At the beginning of her fight, the timer briefly displays 31 seconds, then it will suddenly change to 45 and count downwards from there. That "31" number is not the same every time, it varies from playthrough to playthrough. If you look at the midboss fight, Shizuha is defeated with 32 seconds left, so you might think maybe the weird second it's tied to that.
Moving forwards to Hina, midboss Hina is defeated with 32 seconds remaining and then boss Hina displays briefly 32 seconds on her boss timer before switching to 45.
During the extra stage, Kanako is defeated at 53 seconds left and Suwako's timer will shortly show 53 before changing to 60 and start counting downwards. So far, the theory could be right.
But then it comes Sanae, who doesn't seem to follow this rule. Midboss Sanae is defeated with 21 seconds left on timer, but boss Sanae has 40 shown on timer before it switches to 70.
I couldn't manage to get any weird seconds at the beginning of Nitori and Aya boss fights, but this doesn't mean it's impossible to trigger them. I will keep you updated if I manage to spot them.
EDIT: It is possible to see the strange timer at beginning of Nitori's and Aya's fight too. Please refer to /post/715430569939435520/.
Interestingly, what else I noticed is that both midboss Nitori and Momiji will regenerate their healthbar after you defeat them.
At this point I am not sure what triggers this weird timer, but it happens in more games, if not in all main series after Mountain of Faith. I will be looking more into this and post the occurences from rest of games.
In Mountain of Faith during stage 3, you have a random encounter with Nitori. As she appears on screen, a white healthbar is generated as if a nonspell is preparing, but it disappears as her dialogue is triggered. Then Nitori runs away and no attack follows at that particular time.
Later on, you have a midboss fight with Nitori and as you defeat the spellcard, a white healthbar fully regenerates, but the fight is over, you get some dialogue and you continue with rest of stage. Similarly, during stage 4, after defeating Momiji’s nonspell, her healthbar regenerates but she runs away and no other attack follows.
In Extra stage, as Kanako appears on screen, a white healtbar is generated, but it quickly disappears when the dialogue is triggered. After the dialogue, the healthbar that appears is orange and white, not fully white as the previous healthbar.
In Mountain of Faith, if you view a replay of a stage for which you haven’t unlocked the stage practice yet, that particular stage will be unlocked. This way, you can get to practice stage 6 even though you don’t 1cc the game or can practice higher difficulties. Just watch a replay of your desired stage before.
