The photos I chose were to represent the NCAA and what the athletes experience vs how the NCAA makes money off these athletes and the corruption that can take place here. The corruption (profiting off athletes with ads and overwork) vs where the athletes are placed and the facilities they work (not glitched
I wanted to touch on my academic life, my goals, and the contradictions associated with paying absurd amounts of student debt, to get a better career and overall better life. I also tried to touch on how being broke throughout college is an ironic step towards financial stability. I essentially made a collage of images I glitched with various programs from class, then I glitches the overall image, and overlaid it. I used opacity a lot in this piece, and by applying opacity to the overlay, and applying rotation, I felt I was able to add a “dizzying” effect which related to the spirit of the project.
