in honour of the new tomodachi life and as an apology for what it will do to my already-suffering productivity, I have some Deep Lore about the origins of my undertale fankids I wanna share ✨

my soriel and alphyne kids were first posted in february 2017, but the ideas for them go back as far as september 2016 when my soriel and alphyne miis had kids in tomodachi life 3DS:

while the rest of my undertale fankids were designed in 2022, something I've never shared is that glitter and muffin also originate from tomodachi life way back then, but turning them into actual characters was... more complicated.

utpf glitter is mettaton's adopted kid, but tomodachi glitter was the kid mettaton had with lah, the ghost girl from sonic: night of the werehog. as far as tomodachi crackships go it was pretty cute given that they're both pink ghosts associated with cameras 💖

(I don't remember why she had red glasses. might've been trying to approximate purple eyes for lack of eye colour options)

muffin, however, is a different story.

utpf muffin's relation to muffet is unspecified, but tomodachi muffin - originally named buffet - was the kid muffet had with... a sentient banana man named A Banana.

if this isn't enough of a trainwreck already I must point out that A Banana was the son of knuckles the echidna. also buffet ended up dating tails.

her origin as a banana-spider child is the reason why muffin has blonde hair.

anyway I'm extremely excited about the new game and will be tomodachiposting on my main @holoska 💜

new fankids part 3 of 5: Mettaton's adoptive daughter 💜🌟

MTT doesn't exactly seem the model father figure type to me, but I don't think it's impossible that he'd take an opportunity to turn around the life of a little ghost kid he saw some of his old self in :'> and I don't ship him with anyone for her to have another parent anyway, so. found family it is!

Will we get some more information on Glitter sometime? Curious what she's like?

oh definitely! the next one I work on will be RG 01 and 02's son, but Glitter will be part 3 after him :>

I don't wanna spoil too much, but I'll share some basics and things that probably won't fit in her reference:

she's the oldest of my 12 fankids and the only one who was born before the barrier broke, though she was the ghost monster equivalent of a toddler at that point.

Mettaton doesn't strike me as the natural parent type like Toriel, but he saw a lot of past self in Glitter when she traveled to the surface a few years late, so they're a found family of sorts :'>

she basically looks like Mettaton's mini-me, as she has a robot body which Alphys agreed to build in exchange for Mettaton babysitting her twins while she worked on it. (the twins have a bond with Mettaton thanks to this, and Glitter is very thankful to Alphys)

she has a big following on Undernet and is popular with both monster and human kids, but Mettaton is pretty careful to manage how much public spotlight she gets until she's old enough to set her own boundaries.

as Frisk considers Mettaton an uncle, Glitter is a cousin to them and the main three kids, though they don't see her too regularly.
