The Reason
Just as in 1980, it was "the economy" and not about "turning the page" and other giggling, glittering generalities.
What the fuck is ‘hammerized’?
Which slogan should run for my campaign?
Britney Spears best bet for every round.
Always the right answer with Britney Spears.
Pure Britney Spears. Pure Power.
Here's a little something I wrote for English
(The assignment was to find an example of a "glittering generality". Glittering Generalities are terms which are used to appear confident, or to incite patriotism to avoid addressing problems. Examples include using the term "freedom", "love", or "power")
"Support our Troops!" Generally a patriotic term, it is a mask placed over the true meaning, "Support the War!" For one to say, "I don't support the war" can be and often is misconstrued to mean that they don't support the troops. One can support the troops as citizens, as human beings, and not support the troops as an entity, a group to continue the war. Because it is synonymous with supporting the war, and it has become societal taboo to dare you don't support the troops, war may continue indefinitely, until the poor men you claim to "support" have died fruitlessly. If you TRULY support the war, then protest to end the war instead of using a stuffed political buzz term which contains alternative motives.
