I have a thing for pickles. || I love to make my own pickles, especially as gifts for hosts. Pickles are great because they work in summer or winter, and can be done with pretty much any type of vegetable and any type of vinegar. Since I've been staying at my parents' house while I've been in New York, @muizenboy requested that I make a jar for each week I was in town, as "rent". The best part of waking up is... a full Japanese breakfast. || After reading about the set breakfast/lunch menu at Okonomi, and hearing about it from friends, I finally got to try it this morning. @traceyriese and I shared the blue fish and the toro, and all of their accompaniments. All I can say is, "wow!" Amazing flavors, everything working perfectly together.
