90's Nickelodeon game shows were my SHIT!
Global Guts, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Regular Guts, Finders Keepers, and the glory of all glories Double Dare! I watched them all I was so addicted I always wanted to win that clear Nintendo 64 with the clear Zenith tv and matching controllers with Diddy kong racing ( I already had an N64 but it wasn't clear damn it) Or those cool roller blades. Possibly a Huffy Bike. The prizes where the same on every show and the sucky prizes where the educational ones, like a talking globe or a nice calculator.
and for awhile there was a channel called Nick Gas, which was full of reruns of these shows but they got rid of that channel (for something new and exciting! which was also taken off) But re watching all those shows i realized that the werent as hard as i thought they were.
Legends of the hidden temple was so damn easy. But the damn monkey at the end seemed to confuse every twelve year old that attempted it. Three pieces head, torso, butt. Never were they put in the right order, and it drove my sister and I to drink. and the temple guardians (that jumped out and dragged you into the great beyond in front of your now traumatized partner) were once terrifying and are now hilarious.
I wonder if any kid on global guts was actually from the country they represented? and if so do they still have a piece of the craig? And if they do may i touch it? Strange questions, but you all know you wanted to climb the craig and get that glowing rock to show all your friends. I was too fat and to little to represent the USA so I had to dream.
Then there was finders keepers where they had a mock house and they would hide small objects. Then two teenagers from opposing teams were put in this room, the first on to find the object wins. That means you get to tear shit up on a massive scale and get a sweet ass bike in the end, that is why this show is my very favorite. To this day when i walk into a show room i have this uncontrollable urge to act out an episode of finders keepers with my siblings (Ikea is my trigger).
I remember one show that was like the kids where in a video game and they had to make it through and it was a game show. I can't remember the title but that was one of my favorites.
